3 Chapter 3

-[Rias]-

She was troubled.

Sona had informed her of a transfer student that was giving her trouble. When the bespectacled girl finally decided to investigate it, the boy was nowhere to be found.

There were signs that the boy in question had recently been in his home but he hadn't returned since the day Sona sent someone from her peerage to investigate.

Rias would have dismissed it entirely had it not been for her familiar who returned to her moments after Sona left, telling her how it had seen a fallen angel attack a lone boy.

She initially felt pity for the boy only to continue listening as her familiar explained how the boy defeated and killed the fallen.

Turning a stone into birds and explosions? It sounded weird but magic was weird in its own way.

What was more concerning was that the description of the boy matched the description of the transfer student Sona described.

A lone mage who was able to kill a fallen angel on his own…the case was interesting enough for her to consider asking him to join her peerage.

The only problem with that was that he disappeared. She had her familiar along with those of her peerage searching Kuoh, assuming he hadn't left or was still alive.

That was two weeks ago and the only thing that suggested that he was still alive was that fact he was seen entering an alley with shopping bags a few days ago before disappearing once again without a trace.

This 'Liam' was much more interesting than she thought.

-[Liam]-

Munching on an apple, he idly flipped the page on the book he was reading. He had discovered something interesting about his pocket dimension.

Not only could he enter it at any point in time, he could also pop out in another location. It wasn't exactly teleportation but he'd take what he had.

Other than when he needed to take a bath or buy food, he didn't leave the dimension. He was rich enough to buy multiple takeouts everyday till he died so he wasn't bothered.

His frankly huge allowance and savings was more than enough for him not to need to work…ever. The perks of being the son of a rich man.

He was mostly satisfied with the progress he'd made in the past two weeks.

His caution against damaging the library limited him quite a bit but it was progress nonetheless. Ice magic was the offensive magic he had chosen, though, that hadn't stopped his study in his other magics.

'A- intelligence really is something.' He was quite aware that the speed at which his proficiency was growing was abnormal but he was also aware how far he was from being strong.

His stats were still the same.

He was still a glass cannon, a slightly less weak glass cannon.

Though he would have loved to stay in the library and continue, he couldn't stay here forever. Hiding away forever wouldn't help him grow stronger so he had no choice.

Popping into existence in his room, he freshened up. Looking into the mirror, he froze as he remembered something he unconsciously overlooked…he had skipped school for over two weeks.

'Well this will be fun…not.' He thought exasperatedly.

-[Raynare]-

Sitting in the church with an irritated expression on her face, she turned to her blue haired companion.

"Where is Dohnaseek? He hasn't returned since." She questioned in irritation.

The blue haired lady frowned. "How am I supposed to know? You know how that man is." Kalawarna said with a scoff.

The male fallen angel had a habit of randomly killing humans with even the slightest hint of magic in them. She didn't blame him though, these filthy humans deserved less.

It wasn't the first time Dohnaseek had disappeared for a while to do his own thing but it was the first time he didn't even call in to taunt or mock them.

"He's probably torturing some random human somewhere. Let him have his fun." A short blond fallen angel said.

Mittelt was the same but the flat chested fallen was even less desired amongst humans than amongst her own kind.

"Useless. What about Freed?" Raynare asked, receiving another scoff from Kalawarna.

"Probably killing or having his way with some human somewhere." The blue haired woman answered.

The stray exorcist was a pain in the ass to deal with but the man had his uses…sometimes.

That didn't matter at the moment, she had a task to complete. Azazel tasked her with monitoring some perverted boy, so why couldn't she just kill him and be done with it?

It would be much easier that way.

Changing into her human disguise, she exited the church in the direction of Kuoh academy. Her target, Issei Hyoudou, was a desperate pervert.

'This shouldn't be too hard.' She thought before pausing.

A bespectacled teen walked past her, causing her to frown a bit. It wasn't a large or special amount but the human had magic. 'He's a magician.' She noted as they walked past each other without saying a word.

She could easily kill him but the top rule when facing magicians was to never face them without knowing what association they belonged to. She'd seen stronger fallen than her die because they underestimated magicians.

She put it out of her mind as she walked to the park near the bridge where her target would surely pass when leaving the academy.

All she had to do was wait…impatiently.

-[Liam]-

'Maybe I'm just unlucky.' It was something he seriously considered.

His first time out of the house netted him an encounter with Dohnaseek and now that he decided to visit the outside world properly again, he 'met' Raynare.

Did he know she was probably going to kill Issei? Yes. Did he care enough about the protagonist to save him? Not in the slightest.

The walk to Kuoh academy didn't take long. He soon found himself walking through the gates, seeing a bespectacled dark haired girl giving him an annoyed look.

A slightly taller and also bespectacled girl stood beside the other girl, an impassive look on her face.

He had called ahead but they didn't seem too happy with his lateness…his three weeks and a few hours lateness…

'Oh well. It wasn't exactly my fault.' He thought lightly as he walked up to them.

He was aware that the females in this world were hot but the Sitri heiress in front of him fell a bit short in that aspect. Her queen was more appealing but he wouldn't say that out loud, unless asked of course.

Despite his endless quest for knowledge, he was a male and he wouldn't deny his normal biological reactions nor would he his thought process.

'Glass cannon meets devils. This should be interesting.' He thought, dutifully ignoring the annoyance in Sona's look.

'Yep, fun.' He thought a bit sarcastically.
