1 Burning Rain

Standing on the sidewalk across from the textile factory Jace began to walk down the street, as he took in a deep breath of the night air he became relaxed and and sluggish working 10 hours in a row for 6 days can take a toll on the body but Jace didn't care he was final on the right track in life . He was heading home he was sweaty and dirty the grime from the machines have stricken to his clothes and skin and he would do anything to get it off him .

After 30 minutes of walking Jace reaches into his pocket and pulls out the silver key and places it into the doorknob and the smell of liquor floods his nose as he walked in and seen his dad were he always sat and stared at his old navy uniform drunk " I think that's a enough for the night father " Jace reaches for bottle of vodka but before he could grab it Jace's father Victor Williams pulls the bottle back and yells at his son " you think you're better then boy ? ..... hmmmmm " taking another swig of the drink Victor looks up once more " I fought threw 2 wars seen my own friends die and countless ships get destroyed I can do as I damn please in this house !" . Jace backed down and walked towards his siblings room shaking his head .

Jordyn opens her door where Her and her younger brother ace saw jace walking down to their room ".... you know father will never drop that bottle even if it meant saving his own kids...." Ace only being 7 knew little to nothing about what victor his father was GIUK for threw but was told not to bother him at night. Seeing his younger brother stare at him Jace patted ace head before looking at Jordyn and speaking " don't talk about father around him ...." he gestured at Ace before walking towards the bathroom and turning on the shower then shutting the door as he took off his dirt and grime covered clothing " I'm so tired ....." jace hopped into the shower and took a short 5 minute wash as to not to waste too much water due to his family lack of income he couldn't take long showers to him that was a luxury he could afford.

Stepping out of the bathroom Jace felt at peace , everything was going good for him. he had a job even though the pay was horrible only 10 credits a hour at least he didn't have to steal food to survive and take care of his family . Taking a deep breath he walked towards his room and opened the door all it had in it was a small twin sized mattress , a book shelf filled with books and a small tv that was playing the news, laying down jace turned up the volume and heard the broadcast loud and clear as the anchor spoke " it seems that a small skirmish seems to have happen near our space between the republic and the kingdom of Prelani ....." the anchor became quiet as he began to swear the ear piece he wore feeding him more information " I have more information for the citizens of Tandra 3 .... seems that the fighting has enter the orbit of Tandra and the kingdom of Prelani are planning to begin a orbital bombardment! BOOM!!!" The tv stuttered before going out.

The ground began to vibrate and shake violently as bombs , missiles and other projectiles rain down on the small industry planet of Tandra 3 . Jace hopped up not believing what was happening outside as the bomb alarms come on and screeched loudly warning people to find shelter . Jordyn bust into Jace's room with Ace in her arm with her eyes filled with fear " what's going o-!" Before she could finish one of the weapon payloads slammed into their house causing a shockwave and destruction that knocked everyone down .

Before thinking of anything else Jace grabbed his siblings and ran threw the house grabbing clothing and food before stepping into the living room and there they saw their father impaled by metal scraps and debris laying lifeless. Covering Ace and Jordyn eyes jace runs three their door and looks up " its .... raining fire...."
