The Son of Time and the Olympians

Cronus, the Ruler of the Titans and the God of Time, had a vision of how he will come to an end - his own children will go up in arms against him and dethrone him from his seat as the Supreme Being of the Universe. Learning his destiny, he tried to avoid this fate by swallowing his children as soon as they were born. But his 6th child, Zeus, was taken by his wife, Rhea to the island of Crete without him knowing. During the time that Zeus was in hiding, Cronus used Time to his advantage, and caught glimpses of the far, far future – even beyond the Time he will cease to exist. He gained the Ultimate Knowledge of his Rebirth in the Modern Era, and the only one who can help him make it possible is the child of his reincarnated form – The Son of Time. He sent his thoughts to that far, far future, both from the fear that he cannot avoid the destiny he saw, and also in preparation in the unfortunate event that it will actually happen. * The day after his father was buried, Kairo Julius Andreas woke up in a strange place, with strange people, and a totally strange culture. Everywhere he looked, nothing seems familiar to him. He seemed like the only normal person around. Everyone was dressed differently, and there was nothing - nothing at all, that has the slightest bit of modernization in this bizarre place. “Where the hell am I?!” Little did he know, he's in Ancient Greece, and he’s about to change the myths as we know it. * The cover is from Pinterest. Origins: Tale as Old as Time

"Reeeekekek! Master…..I think, the best strategy right now is to retreat – rekek." The leader of the Erinyes nervously said to Isaac after several moments of walking. She actually led them to a more quiet and secluded place in order to avoid their 'other sistah' who almost found them earlier near the River Phlegethon.

It's been ages since the last time she was here, but the place hardly changed at all, so her memories of all its shortcuts were still intact. Her master didn't say a word, probably too tired to argue. She sighed, feeling useless again for not being able to help him when he's this exhausted to even diss them.

A certain event from the past actually triggered them to escape from Hades' unfair treatment to them when they were still subject to his commands. When the opportunity presented itself, the three of them revolted against the Lord of the Underworld to gain freedom for themselves. They were glad to finally by free from his tyrannical rule, and they could no longer follow such kind of master.

They found themselves in the Mortal Realm, where they became free to do whatever they liked – eat whatever they like. Until eventually, they got bored of their liberty. It went on like that for quite a while, until they felt an ominous presence born somewhere in this Realm. It was so ancient that it drove them crazy.

They struggled to find the source of such presence, and they discovered a crucial and very important information – the Titans are getting reincarnated in the modern world. And these mortals who were their reincarnations can manifest some of their powers. Mythos – they are called Mythos.

Strictly speaking, a Reincarnation is different from a Rebirth. In the former, another person completely different from the Original Being is born. Meaning, this new person can have his/her own thoughts, personalities and other quirks and uniqueness. Only that, their body can serve as a vessel to the Original Being who can sometimes overtake their thoughts and bodies in order to carry out its goal.

A Rebirth, on the other hand, is perfect reincarnation. The Original Being is reborn into the world, in his Original Body and True Form. He/She is not hindered by the thoughts of anybody else.

The Mythos are simply reincarnations, not the actual rebirth of the Titans. This confused the Fury at first, but then she recalled a vague memory from right after the Titanomachy.

--

Thousands of years ago, they heard from Hades that the Titans who were thrown into the pits of Tartarus are not to be considered properly dead. They can't even be considered as souls damned into that bottomless pit. It's safer to think of them as alive and conscious malevolent forces – ready to escape when given the opportunity. Until that day came…. when the Greek Gods and Goddesses of Olympus were slowly fading… forgotten by men…. and many other religions and beliefs were born into this world.

Hades, as one of these most famous gods, does not wish to be forgotten. So he communed with the Titans and sought for the secret on how they were able to retain their consciousness even after their deaths. "I know you aren't dead. You're all alive and just waiting to break out from this prison. But tell me, how is it that you can retain your consciousness despite not having a physical body to support you?" The more powerful ones listened to him, but none offered him a response.

Hades got frustrated, so he offered them an offer so tempting for them to resist. "If you tell me the secret to your seemingly convenient immortality, I shall let out some of your thoughts for the whole world to hear, so long as I deem it rational and worthy. I swear it upon Styx." He said, as he cut a wound into his arm and drops of golden ichor – the blood of the gods – dropped to the ground to bind his Sworn Oath to Styx.

Helios, among other Titans, got interested in this proposition. But before they say anything, they needed the approval of their Ruler – the one admitted in the maximum security part of Tartarus – The God of Time, Cronus. His limbs and other parts were scattered throughout Tartarus, but his head, the one containing his thoughts, was put inside a casket in the Heart of Tartarus. A single beat of that Heart was heard, and that was enough for all the other Titans to confirm his affirmation. Cronus is in.

Hyperion responded in behalf of his fellow Titans. "Hades, Lord of the Underworld, Ruler of the Dead and God of Wealth. It is I, Hyperion, the Father of the Celestials and brother to the God of Time. We are only alive because of Cronus' magic which trapped out thoughts in Time. It is these trapped thoughts that we wish to unleash upon the world, and bestow it to whoever we see fit among all mortals. We are only alive because of these thoughts, which will be sent to these deserving mortals in the far, far, future. And they will attain the status of God, to complete our Rebirth to their Timeline. Dodona foretold us a prophecy about that."

Hades was speechless. He never knew that the incapacitated God of Time is capable of doing this incredible magic given his current state of nothingness. He now had second thoughts of working together with these Titans. What if what he's about to do will result to them breaking free from Tartarus? Will they be fighting another arduous battle with these Titans? But he can't back out now! He already swore upon Styx! If he breaks his Sworn Oath, then it will only hasten the process of his disappearance.

He debated on whether to continue this or not. And he came up with a decision – one that no other entity apart from him knew. He knew that not many will understand him, but what he's about to do is planned for the grander scheme of things. He forged the alliance with the Titans upon one condition.

"Truly, I deem your plans for the future quite worthy. However, I do not intend to let these thoughts of yours wander without you granting me another thing." He said.

"And what is it, that you want?" Hyperion answered.

"Tell Cronus I want my thoughts to be sent in the future too – for my rebirth in that Time."

Another loud beat, and Hades was instantly answered. Yes, Cronus heard him too. From the pits of Tartarus, the eerie voice of his father called out for him. "Come, my Son. Rule with me in the Future."

And so he did. He went to the Heart of Tartarus and gathered his 'thoughts' for the future. Then, he opened up a small portal to send all of these 'thoughts' out in the open, for them to be received by the mortals who will manifest their interests when the Time comes.

Hyperion and his son Helios smirked after seeing their thoughts finally out from this gruesome pit. They then thought to themselves. 'Dodona shall appear in the dreams of those mortals soon. It will take a very, very long time. But it will be worth the wait. We shall rule over the Universe once more.'

Hades reckons that this might be more troublesome than he thought. There's more to it than meets the eye.

Of course, the Fury knew nothing else except the fact that her Master Hades communicated with the Titans. She doesn't know any of the other details. That's why it was still a surprise for her when she found out about the Mythos. A few years after that discovery, more Mythos were born – and one of them is Isaac, the one who inherited the thoughts of Hades. They saw in him another purpose for living, so when Dodona appeared to enlighten him of his Future, they pledged their services to him as their new master.

"You're probably right." Isaac finally said. "Perhaps the Son of Time will get outta here soon and we'll meet him somewhere in the surface too. I'm sick of this place, but I can't open another fuckin' portal out!" he groaned after that remark. He still hasn't recovered enough of his magic to create another shadow portal.

Then, a brilliant idea suddenly crossed the Fury leader's mind. She tried to check if the lacerations in her wings have now healed. Yes, its fine now. She grinned and then said, "Reeeekekek! Wait here, master. I'll be back with goodies for you–rekek!" And she flew off to another direction, leaving her sistahs and Isaac puzzled.

'Where the heck is she going?' Isaac thought.

Another Fury got into her wavelength. "Yeeekekek! Oh, she must be going to the kitchen to find you some ambrosia and nectar, master. It can probably help you regain your strength – yekek!"

Yohoo ~

I will be busy with rewriting my other novel. So I guess I'll be back to update this on Monday :)

Hope you don't mind. I have life and other interests too. And I write for fun :)

About the difference of Reincarnation and Rebirth, I hope I made that clear. Think of it as something like Kagome from Inuyasha. She's a reincarnation of Kikyo, but she's also completely another person. That's what I wanted to emphasize. In Rebirth, nothing is lost. In Reincarnation, something is new.
