17 Chapter 16

"So my father sent you?" I asked with a raised brow.

"Yes, he sent me to personally introduce you to the wizarding world." Dumbledore said with a nod.

We were currently in the living room with just the two of us.

Percy and the others are in the other room but I know some of them are eavesdropping in the conversation.

" Why?" I asked.

Dumbledore blinked in suprise.

"Pardon?" He asked.

"Why send me a to a different continent just to go to school?" I asked the question that's been bugging me. I read on the letter that Hogwarts was in Britain and is part of the reason why it was so hard to to convince mom to let me go to this magic school.

He was silent for a few seconds before he answered me.

"The Lord of the Dead had a few children throughout history . His children are naturally gifted with magic specifically the dark arts. One of those children is one of the most powerful wizards in the history of Britain. His name is Salazar Slytherin, one of the  four founders of Hogwarts. " Dumbledore said.

I just sat there and nodded for him to continue after I processed the information.

" Hogwarts is compromised of four houses which represents each of the founders ideals and characters. Gryffindor for the courageous and chivalrous, Ravenclaw for those who hungers for knowledge, Hufflepuff for the loyal and hardworking. And finally Slytherin for the ambitious and cunning, the house of your brother and the house that your father wishes for you to join. " Dumbledore explained.

" I get that he wants me to join Slytherin because its my brother's house. But that can't be the only reason right? "I asked narrowing my eyes.

Dumbledore sighed.

" Yes, you are correct. I'm going to be honest with you, The house of Slytherin used to house all type of wizards from different backgrounds, but now the house of Slytherin has become filled with Pure blood supremacist and I dare say arrogant, people who looks down on those not pureblooded like the muggleborn and half bloods like yourself. Your father wishes for you to make Slytherin a better house by joining them and whip them into shape. " He said.

I sat still for a few seconds before smirking.

" Changing an entire house filled with arrogant racist kids. Heh, sounds challenging. I'm in. "

I said confidently with my smirk widening at excitement.

" Though I won't be held responsible if a some of them get in a few 'accidents'." I said which caused his eye to twitch a few times.

'They will need tough love to get the pureblood supremacy crap out of their heads. Of course this is not just my excuse to prank them. No sir.' I thought while thinking of new prank ideas.

We talked for a few more minutes with Dumbledore explaining to me the different subjects and activities I should expect from Hogwarts.

"Well I believe I have explained enough, its time for us to get you your school materials you'll need." Dumbledore said standing up.

"And of course we'll have to get you your wand aswell." He said

"You get a wand!?" A voice from the other room which I'm pretty sure its from Percy.

I ignored it.

"Sure, could you wait by the front door? I need to talk to my mom for a sec." I said to Dumbledore as I ran towards the other room.

I saw them playing monopoly.

Without me!?

Those sonnu-

"I'm sorry Piper but there is no family in monopoly." Tristan said with his hand out with a give me gesture.

Piper reluctantly gave him 50 dollars. Fake money of course.

"Mom can I talk to you for a second?" I called out to her.

"Of course sweety." My mom said walking towards me.

I explained that we need to leave to get a few things needed for school. She nodded and went to talk to Dumbledore about a few things.

I watched the others play monopoly for a few seconds to see Percy become bankrupt.

" See you later guys." I said to them as I leave the room.

I got two happy responds and two sad ones.

I followed after mom and heard her telling Dumbledore to take care of me.

The headmaster just wryly replied.

"Ms. Ruby please be rest assured your son will be safe and even then I dont want to gain the lord of the dead's ire should I let something happen to your son." He said paling a bit.

My mother just nodded in approval.

The old wizard saw me and beckoned me to leave with him as he started to leave.

I said good bye to my mother before following after her.

" See you later mom. "I said while hugging her.

My mom replied.

" Be safe and dont talk to strangers and dont leave the headmaster's side and-" I cut her of saying.

" Relax mom I'll be fine. " I said smiling a bit.

" I know but I can't help but worry. " She gave a kiss on my forehead and I went to Dumbledore's side.

I glanced at Dumbledore and asked.

" So how are we gonna get there? "

He gave me a his grandfatherly smile and said.

" Your father will take care of it. " he said as shadows started to wrap around us.

I did not panic as within these shadows I felt safe.

Then everything went dark.
