1 A Hero's Welcome

"Oi you get a move on sonny" a butch train conductor with a big handle bar mustache bellowed.

After moving away from the train and heading toward the Central outpost where he was supposed to meet his old General. After arriving and seeing the bar he was supposed to be meeting at all of a sudden the sky grew dark, it was the middle of the day 1.30 to be exact.

So to go from a bright day to sudden blackness no stars no sun just a black sky encompassing all. Yet somehow he could see perfectly and it was then he saw it a huge red figure stood in the distance of the blackness, however only a brief moment.

Then nothing he couldn't see? Yet he had perfect vision a moment ago. There was no sighn of how long it had been dark for yet he could still feel or he thought he did?

How could one know when you have only felt this darkness when closing your eyes to sleep?

After long the soldier woke up to see nothing but a large star not a sun nor one that you see in the night but one that gleamed brilliantly in the dark but one that had depth of different lights in them brimming the gloom with luminous rays.
