1 Once upon a time

Once upon a time werewolves and vampires were constantly in war until one day the moon goddess tricked the vampire king into a treaty by casting a spell and disguising a princess as human. The vampire king married the werewolf princess and forced peace to the lands. However the vampire king felt cheated and he killed the princess and decided he would make a treaty of his own.

Keep the peace of the species and keep the werewolves from extinction in exchange for a new bride whenever he desires.

The alpha hesitantly agreed to his request not knowing he had already murdered his wife.

The Alpha thought this man may just be a playboy and want a new wife because he lost interest in women quickly.

Never in his wildest dreams did he know he was going to doom our race by

branding the royal pack and all the packs after for such a cruel fate.

That's when his true plan had been revealed.

Every year from there on out he would kill his werewolf bride who in most cases was always the highest ranking single female of the pack and each year he would come to the royal pack to select a new companion. The werewolves came to know this as the auction. The name doesn't quite fit At first ring but that's exactly what it is. You see he takes the highest female because it hurts the pack the most. That doesn't mean he does it every year . Last year he took an omegas daughter just because the man tripped infront of his car. So this shows that he really can pick who he wants and from the moment he does they know they will die. If that doesn't sound like a slaughter auction I don't know what is.

This has gone on for the last 150 years each alpha putting his own signature on the treaty as part of the crowning, acknowledging their role in fulfilling the vampire kings need.

Agreeing, that the need of the many out weigh the need of the one. For they know it's not a marriage they are signing up for but a slow torturous death. These brides kiss their family good bye knowing they will not return. They will not be the ones to change the blood King's mind. Their mothers gave birth To them and cursed the day they were born a woman because they knew that one day they might have to bury their children. Most of the people chosen have been high warriors or members of the court. This however is not the case this year. You see the beta of the royal pack was cursed to have given birth to two daughters just 1 year apart.

My sisters name is Cassie she is 19 and a kripple. Her wolf died during her first shift and she hasn't been able to walk since.

My name is Mei. I am 17 and any other girl would be happy about that because that means we will find our mate soon but being the betas daughter I know that I will not meet my mate because my fate has already been laid out for me.

The Alpha king is like a second father to my family along with his wife and our Luna. Together they have given birth to our future Alpha, their son Chase. He is my bestfriend and always has been since we were kids. He used to crawl through my window and climb in my bed. We used to have so many sleepovers that it was hard to sleep when we were apart. I remember every time he saw me he would bury his face in my hair. For some reason that kid was obsessed with my brown curls. He said he liked my shampoo it always smelt like honey. in fact we were so inseparable he refused to go to school without me and that is how we ended up in the same grade even though he should have gone with my sister.

Our families made a treaty of our own to save my mother and father some heart ache. Once the Vampire king chooses one of us if chase doesn't find his mate by the following year he will marry the other daughter to prevent another sacrifice.
