2 The New Slytherin

Harry POV (cuz why not)

I was talking with my friends Hermione and Ron when a girl who had blonde hair and gray eyes opened the door to our stall. "Can I sit here? Everywhere else is full" she asked timidly."Of course come sit next to me" Hermione replied with a cautious smile. "What is your name?" I asked. "I am Lyra, and you all are?" She said.

After we introduced ourselves we started to have a conversation. I realized she had a similar life as me. We both have harmful families who are muggles and we both were looking to escape them. She asked if we all can be friends and we happily agreed. A little while later of chatting about the books we liked (Hermione was excited to have a fellow bookworm) we realized we were at Hogwarts station.

We hopped out of the train then all got on a carriage together and enjoyed the ride. During the ride Lyra began worrying if she would lose us as friends if she doesn't get into Griffindor. We assured her we could still be friends if she didn't.When we got to Hogwarts we walked with the other first years to the front of the dining hall to Professor Mangonagall.

When they got to her name Professor Mangonagall placed the sorting hat on her. As soon the hat was put on Lyra, it started mumbling to itself. After a few moments of mumbling and making impressed noises he made a conclusion "Slytherin!". After the hat was off, Lyra walked over to Slytherin table on a far away spot where no one was sitting. She looked worried and had her head down. After we ate we hung back and waited for Lyra. As we waited, Malfoy and his group walked past us sneering and laughing about something.

Finally when Lyra walked up to us she looked confused."Who were they?———————————————————————
