The Chiefs Submit

Surprisingly, the Eden and Fen village chiefs were cowards. Their loyalty to the royal family meant nothing with the threat of death.

"The Great Forest of Ooze? A wonderful name! Let us expand this territory 'cross the globe, Lord!"

The Fen Village's chief also chimed, his long hair flying about as he did so, "Submit or die?! Of course I'll submit!"

The village chief of Angerfall, on the other hand, didn't seem as convinced. So, Alaric questioned, "What's wrong, Bob? Are you seriously going to choose death? The people of your village need you."

It was true. Most of the reason for Angerfall Village's militaristic behavior was because it was the village closest to the badlands, an area of the Neuling Kingdom full of bandits.

'An idiot would question why there would be such an area in the first place, thinking the kingdom would want to get rid of it. Obviously, the royals are allowing it as long as the bandits send them some change.'
