21 Spiritual Beast Hunting (2)

The children were used to seeing this odd-looking man and not to mention that they loved his presence. He'd tell them stories of his adventures while they had free time and taught them things about the world around them that not even their parents knew.

Seeing that they were all ready to listen to them Rucheng instructed, "Okay children, do you see the ball in your uncle Gwan's hands, we need you to put your hands on it so that we can measure the cores inside your body and record them, once you are all done, we'll take you to relieve yourselves and then we'll have something to eat."

The children nodded and lined up, Gwanliin started while Rucheng made her way to the headmaster's office and asked him to postpone her resignation.

"Why the sudden ask of postponement?" he questioned her curiously.

Rucheng faked a sad frown, "I'm not ready yet to leave them and I want to explain it properly to the children."

The headmaster stared at her for a moment in silence then nodded his head. She thanked him and made her way back to the class. Gwanliin only had two children left to do when she arrived and was extremely surprised by the children's spiritual and martial potential.

Rucheng didn't care about the cultivating part because she didn't have to cultivate since she and Gwanliin signed a contract together since the previous Rucheng refused to do it. Whenever he cultivated, it was as though she did so she scolded him into cultivating always making her job in this world less burdensome.

She cloned a proxy and sent it off with the children while she read through their findings, "So two of the children will be astrologist in the future?"

"Yes and it's the most sought out ability in all the seven realms. Many have died whereas some parents force their children into pretending that they cannot cultivate. Because there are cases such as these, the rainbow orb was created and now everyone is working on protecting the cultivators with these abilities but it causes many inconveniences for the evil factions as they are unable to get things done because of these types of cultivators and have resorted to hunting them down and killing them or using them for unlawful means," he stated.

Rucheng frowned, she didn't want her students succumbing to this fate. She looked at Gwanliin and asked, "So what do you suggest we do to protect them, what spiritual beast would be the best to protect Ha Jong and Yoon Hak?"

Gwanliin shook his head, "Unless they are protected by the Emperor of each race, they cannot be protected by everything. When one is connected to an Emperor, their fate is sealed, when the emperor dies, their contract moves onto the heir apparent but if their contract is with any other beast under the ranking they will suffer and slowly die if the beast is killed or cultivator is killed."

"Why don't you give me good news for once?" She complained.

Gwanlinn rolled his eyes, "We can try to protect them but which emperor's will we use? You certainly can't think that any emperor will agree, not even the emperor of all dragons will listen to you."

She stared at him with hollow eyes. Her consciousness switched to her proxy who was being belittled by two senior ladies. Rucheng turned her head to see if the children were done and they were, they were waiting for her to finish speak.

She raised her hands and clapped them together. The children knew this as the sign to head back to class, once the children were out of view, her proxy disappeared in front of their very eyes. The bystanders were shocked and quickly went to check on the children but couldn't find them as they were already in the class thanks to Gwanliin's transportation circles.

A few went to report her while the others stood outside the classroom. They were ignored by Rucheng and Gwanliin. They gave the children their snacks while the two of them started choosing which spiritual beasts would be efficient to protect them.

The children were sitting around conversing when suddenly a slit in the classroom opened, Rucheng and Gwanliin agreed to have the children know what the hidden Valley was and what they were planning to do, they also explained to the children that Rucheng would be leaving the school which made them upset.

They all returned when it was time for the children to leave. The parents and guardians were confused when they saw how upset their children were. The children remained quiet because they knew that their parents would just complain again about their teacher.

Both Rucheng and Gwanliin shook their heads at the children's reaction. Rucheng was called to the office for letting her children leave without her but she ignored it. She didn't have much time left and it would take them around four full days to travel and gather the beasts. They went home to inform Mrs Qin about her leaving and she also made her proxy stay behind to give the illusion that she was still there.

The two of them embarked in their journey to find guardians for Rucheng's little ones.
