1 Restarting

"Help me, please." A man cried out from the sidewalk. His shoulder was shot and his face injured.

It was nighttime, the most dangerous time of the day. The chessboard was awakened and being played.

"Ahh," The person screamed in pain. He was shot again in the stomach, by someone, but nobody knew who. Probably a silencer, sent by the bishop or rook who ruled this area. The crowd kept on walking, making sure to not go where the man was so they would be shot too. They ignored the man's screams for help, though some called the police and the ambulance when they were far away from the set, nobody helped. They had seen this happen plenty of times in the night, enough to get used to it. This was Dafes after all, one of the biggest crime-infested cities.

At the same time, a life was taken, one was saved. "Felix, don't jump please, I know you don't see anything in your future but I promise you, there is."

"How?" Felix bawled. He had given up on himself, and this world didn't want him. "Every single day of my life has been hell. I can't wake up without thinking of how I need money, to pay off my parent's debts and to go to school. You can't even do anything Nile, because you're not like me, your dad is a henchman of the underworld. You have everything, money, school, and somewhat of a family. I'm sorry, but I can't do this." Felix put one foot out backward, while his head still faced Nile.

"Please don't leave me! Please, I don't want to be alone. I have nobody but you." Nile cried. Felix stared at Nile, shocked at Nile's tears. He had never seen Nile cry like this before. Nile was always the protector, the Iceman, the one who no matter what came at him, could get back up. Nile's crying caused Felix to come back to his senses.

Stepping back Felix got off the edge of the roof, he couldn't let Nile cry, as much as he wanted to leave this world, he couldn't leave when Nile was crying. Nile was there for him no matter what, now it was his turn to be his pillar.

"I'm sorry," Felix said. "I was stupid to do that," Hugging Nile, he started to cry too.

"My dad died," Nile mumbled minutes after the emotion breakdown they both had. "He's gone, and I couldn't lose you."

"W-What!!" Felix's eyes widened so much that Nile thought it was going to pop out. "He was alive yesterday, didn't he leave them..." Felix trailed off, he could feel himself trembling. To Felix, Nile's dad was his real father, though he was never blood-related to the man. Now he was gone and Felix had no one but his son.

"They killed him. You know how they were, they didn't like him leaving. He was a hindrance, in their plans, and he knew too much. They sent a silencer after him. He knew too much." Nile responded.

Felix hesitated then asked. "Are they going to kill us?" Felix could feel his heart race. He might have just lived to find out he was going to die again.

"No, if they were, they would have," Nile answered pulling away from Felix. Nile stone face gradually came back. "They don't know that he taught us."

Felix stared at Nile. He could feel the tension in the air rise.

"I want revenge, Felix. I want to remove them like they removed my dad." Nile voice was shaking though his expression stayed the same.

"Did you see it happen?" Felix could visibly see Nile trembled. Nile slowly nodded his head and Felix sighed. "How do you think we should get revenge? We're just some graduates from high school going to college. Without any knowledge of anything aside from what your dad taught us and how far do you think that going to take us."

"Pretty far," Nile said. Felix sighed.

"Do you think your dad would say yes to this?" Felix said.

"Yes," Nile answered firmly. Felix again now sighed staring at the darkening sky.

"Sure, we can try this, but you need to buy me a computer, a 3.8 GTS and some other stuff. I need to transfer my data from my old laptop to a better one, you know if you want this to work."

"I will, it's a promise. I have a lot of money, at least they left that alone." Nile smirked.

Felix rolled his eyes and grinned. "We're not that out of shape, If you get me the tech in this week, I should be ready if we do it in two months."

"To wipe out, The Teeth isn't that confidence too small, we can do it in a month" Nile smiled, a smile that showed his gum, a rare sight."We could even wipe out the rest of the gangs in the area too." Felix whipped his head around to look at Nile, searching for any type of sarcasm.

"Are you joking or?"

"No, what do we have to lose Felix? We were high schoolers/middle schoolers then and still kicked ass," Nile paused. "There no place for us in the overworld, you know that. We can continue school if you want but the underworld calls us. I know you can feel it too."

"...…Let's do it. Nile, let's comeback as the Jokers, we are going to go back to the chess board and mess it all up." Felix smiled before scowling."But we have to find others then."

"I can deal with that, don't worry" Nile responded, gently patting Felix's head. "Felix, do you want to live with me? I can get you out of the orphanage."

"...I don't really care but if we're really doing this, sure. I'm also turning 18 next month, so no children agency should come after us. But we have to move somewhere else, your location is already known to the world and we can't have that when we're about to enter the battlefield."

"I guess I do," Nile laid on the ground, Felix followed. Both now were staring at the starless sky.

"I can't believe this. Should we move places now?"

"No actually, let's wait until we find the rest before we move too."

"Whatever you say, boss," He paused. "Do you think they would agree?" Felix questioned.

"They can't disagree." Nile yawned and crept closer to Felix for warmth.

"I can't believe today happened," Felix "Pinch me, please. I wanted to make sure, that this isn't a dream."

Nile responded by kneeling Felix's leg.

"Ouch!" Felix yelped. "Sorry, sorry, I'll let you sleep." Soon Felix could hear Nile snore.

"So even if the world doesn't want me. Why do you do?" He wondered, giggling a little before closing his eyes, succumbing into the darkness.
