Proposal

"YOU PEOPLE ARE RIDICULOUS! YOU WILL NOT SEND REILYN TO BE MARRIED OFF TO A VAMPIRE" Ruviena's voice, as sweet as she could release it, she could also voice it out in a thunderous volume filled with rage.

Her father Guille Vandarkstein was arguing audibly to his black sheep of a daughter in the Vandarkstein's parlor. "THIS WAS AN ORDER FROM THOSE BLOOD SUCKERS THEMSELVES!" Guille Vandarkstein's veins popped out of his temple, furious with the once troublesome and disobedient daughter now answering back at her own father as if she had any right to say in the Vandarkstein's household. But she did have the right. Earning the title her mother once had as the Silver Huntress who killed a number of Rogue vampires to protect the land of the east. It's as if his previous wife had come back to haunt him through their daughter for his misbehavior towards his first legal family.

The step-mother, Mellisa Vandarkstein, sat on one of the parlor's upholstery. A narcissistic, spoiled Lady with too much makeup. She answered in between the father and daughter's argument "My, is that the tone of voice and attitude you learned from your mother Anne?" She said as and followed with sipping her tea. Angie was sitting beside Mellisa Vandarkstein and Tom was leaning on a wall near her. At their left was Ruviena and behind her sat her twin sister Reilyn who's hands where trembling as she held her tea cup on her lap with her eyes cast down on the carpeted floor in worry.

Ruviena gave out a sigh of frustration and tucked a few silver strands behind her ear as she answered her step mother without even looking at her

"Individuals forget to not stick their tongue out to conversations that can lead to their muted state especially when they utter words that are nothing more but petty prattle" Mellisa Vandarkstein's face turned red, Ruviena simply stated 'I will cut your tongue out if you continue to say stupid useless things' "You cunt..." Mellisa muttered but was quickly silenced with Guille Vandarkstein's statement to his daughter

"The Emperor of Vampires gave a decree to the Human Lord of the eastern land to offer a Lady of the right age with Vellis blood to be wed to one of the 7 great bloodsuckers"

Vellis— was their mother's maiden name. As far as she remembered, her mother was an only child and her parents had already died way before Ruviena was born. There where other individuals in the bloodline but her and Ruviena

"Ellaborate further 'Father'" she indented a sarcastic tone at the word Father.

"The emperor wishes to set an example of co existence with the humans. As disgusting as that sound, he informed that the great 7 and the human lords agreed to his deal that the marriage of a woman with the blood of a famed huntress that flowed in its veins to one of the great 7 will symbolize a cooperation between their empire and the protectors of humans which are the Huntsmen"

"That they would work together to keep the balance and order, at the same time would give the majority of the humans an ease of mind" Ruviena whispered to herself. But her sister was not an option! She was weak! And vampires usually suck blood out of their lovers, she would die instantly! Making the connection null and void.

Her sister whom she carefully protected from the shadows was now at risk. It was too much. But a direct order from the emperor, if it was to be repudiated it would insult the emperor greatly and may lead to bloodshed because of disrespect.

"Alright" Ruviena answered to her Father. Guille's expression relaxed and he nodded. Angie who was jealous of his sister Reilyn for her beauty had giggled in secret and Tom's eye twitched as the siblings knew he could no longer be near Reilyn to torment her, even though he wasn't able to for the past 4 years but only reduced to verbal sexual harassment which Reilyn never told Ruviena to avoid troubling her further.

Reilyn grew up to be a beautiful flower, like Ruviena, she had silver hair that flowed down till her hips. Her hairstyle though had short fringes that completely covered her forehead and displayed it into full bangs. Her figure was slimmer, and lightweight compared to Ruviena. Her humble chest that made her look so innocent and pure. And her deep as the ocean's eyes where wide in shock as she shot her gaze up to her sister that had agreed to the marriage

"Sis—-" She was about to beg but Ruviena interrupted her.

"Send word to your Lord, that a Vellis woman will be on her way to the land of Froxenheim in a week. The marriage proposal is accepted"

She ordered a human servant that was sent by the Emperor himself to verify the Vandarkstein's answer. The servant was standing at the sideline holding a scroll which had the content of the proposal to be engraved by the master of Vandarkstein if they had agreed.

Guille Vandarkstein was more than happy to engrave his seal on the paper when the servant had laid it for him. He was finally rid of the last remnant of his ex wife that always stole the limelight from him. "This will be the last time I hear about your silver head"

He practically sold his daughter away to the vampires and in return he would gain a portion of a land held by the emperor at the east. Ruviena was not informed that the proposal can actually be rejected without trouble since there where many more famed hunters with daughters of the right age to bring balance to their land via marriage. But her greedy father played a good actor

"Pack your things, leave nothing behind and meet me at the carriage" She coldly ordered her timid twin as she nodded and ran upstairs. Reilyn held her tears as she had started to pack all of her belongings

Guille went to his study while Mellisa ang Angie now went outside to the garden to show their delight of Reilyn leaving by basking under the clear sky and eat pastries.

The ones who where left in the parlor was Ruviena and Tom who had grown up into a fine man. A charming look with tousled brown hair that he lazily tied in a pony with a thin ribbon. He was more of a young prince charming if only his attitude wasn't as rotten and as fowl like shit.

"You've grown lovely my sweet sister" He took a few steps closer to Ruviena who was about to turn towards the door and go wait at the carriage but halted to answer his petty choice of words

"Spare me the loving brother act, you where a vulgar child and grew up to be one still. I'm surprised you weren't throne in jail for sexually harassing little girls" Her eyes gazed at him as if he was an insect that landed in her glass of water.

"Hahahah! Your humor is wonderful as ever," He laughed mockingly. Now only a single step gap away from each other, he was a bit taller than Ruviena which made him feel superior. "If I'd known you where going to 'grow' up exquisitely, I would have played with you instead of the pathetic Reily—-" Before he could have his hand cares his half-sister's cheek

Ruviena had swiftly grabbed his wrist and in a few quick twists and turn. Tom's face was slammed down on the sofa cushion, deafening his cries of pain from the rest of the family. His arm that tried to reach Ruviena was twisted behind him and he could feel his shoulder joint would break if she wishes to exert more effort, She pressed his head further on the cushion as if she was gonna smother him until he suffocates.

"If only you'd known how to use your brain to remember the event when we where younger at how much I wanted to kill you. You would at least have a basic knowledge at how much I still want to kill you now, 'Sweet Brother'" A kick landed on the side of Tom's ribs as he stumbled on the carpeted floor discretely.

Ruviena quickly turned on her heel to strut out the House and she heard her half brother yell from afar calling her 'Bitch'. She simply smiled to herself. She saved her sister Reilyn finally and will explaine everything to her once they where on the carriage.

"I... I won't be married off to a vampire?" Reilyn's glassy eyes stared at her sister in shock and more on concern than joy

"But you said—"

"I know what I said, I will fix it and all you need to do now is enjoy your freedom" Her arms crossed beneath her breasts and her legs over lapped one another. The carriage was almost near the Dracar House estate and reassured her sister that she will now live with the Dracars safe and sound.

Soon they where welcomed back with open arms, Grandmother Dracar gave a loving greeting to Reilyn whom she finally met and Jackal Dracar, Ruviena 's mentor nodded in acceptance

Ruviena finally gave her sister the freedom she had deserved. Yet they where still going to be separated

"Ruviena, a word" Jackal called Ruviena to his study. As soon as Ruviena closed the door behind them, Jackal started "You stupid girl" He sighed in despair

"I heard from Noir, that you accepted the wedding. Knowing you, you where planning to take Reilyn's place" Her crow had flew ahead right after it heard its mistress agree to the proposal and sent word to her mentor who asked a favor of Noir to give him news of the outcome at the Vandarkstein's house immediately

"I was going to tell you anyway. Reilyn is obviously too physically weak for such occasions that involved the Dark dwellers. The emperor wanted a Vellis Hunter blood flowing in the woman's veins to link them to the Vampire Hunter's society" She explained with a dark expression casted over her face as she stared outside the window

"So I've heard. But I was expecting you'd wouldn't do anything silly, yet here you are"

"I'm more suitable for the task. I could protect myself when things go out of hand" She faced her mentor sternly with flames of determination in her eyes. She'd go so far to protect her sister

"You have a point, fine. Just keep relaying messaged through Noir if you think it will be too dangerous. When will the engagement be held?" Jackal again let out a sigh and slumped on his arm chair behind his mahogany desk

"There hasn't been a date yet, they would want my presence at the masquerade next week and I will reside in the south afterwards, it was written in the proposal" She knuckles turned white as she clenched her fist tightly at leaving her sister's side again.

"The travel towards the south takes 4 days, You start packing tonight"

"Understood" Ruviena bowed. And soon afterwards she had thanked the Dracars with all her heart for their generosity

Her twin sister whom she just got back was now in heavy tears and protested from the decision of Ruviena taking her place

"I will be alright, and know that I will always love you my Lyn. We've been separated for 4 years, this won't make any difference. So do not worry and live freely" She held her wailing twin sister in her arms and patted her head. Although she knew that the decision she had made was suicidal, there was no other choice. And she will take the risk to continue protecting the people she loved. Fate seems to want to keep her locked up by doing the right things. Why was it always like that for her?

Her despair at the losing her mother and discovered her father never really loved them and had an affair, Her strife back when she became the family maid, The effort and exhaustion to become a huntress like her mother and free her sister. All that effort... the struggle... in the end fate decided she forever will be bound by heavy duties alone.

Fate... She always did despise that word

"General" A noble blood vampire stood at the center of a victorian styled interior with white walls that had gold lining, the floor was of black marble. The noble vampire had ash blonde hair and a lighter shade of red eyes compared to the master of the fortress who's eyes where of dark red. He bowed in respect of his master's presence

"Report" The man known as general did not look back to his informant but instead stared at the grey sky of the south as he uttered the single word to his servant. The scenery outside looked like it'll snow once again for the night

"The silver huntress, Her name is Ruviena Vandarkstein. First Daughter of the former silver Huntress that died during her mission, Lady Anne Rosevee Vellis. But I received a word that the first daughter was disowned 4 years ago. Her fraternal twin sister, Lady Reilyn Vandarkstein will be departing for Froxenheim first thing in the morning after accepting the proposal of our Emperor for her hand in marriage" The blonde vampire finished his report and raised his head, awaiting for his master's next order.

"Send a Letter to the emperor, I will be attending the soirée for the engagement of Vellis-Vandarkstein's daughter" He stared at the grey sky that now cried snow softly upon the land

"As you wish" Acknowledging his Master's peculiar decision to suddenly marry, and a human at that. He disappeared as he melted into black smoke till his presence no longer lingered in the study

"I look forward to see you again, My silver woman" His lips curled up menacingly. Being a renowned tactician, it's important to accurately predict their enemy's moves. And if his prediction is right—- The cunning silver songbird that caught his interest for an entire night and yet deprived him of his wishes will now land right at the palm of his cold hands. He wondered which process would be interesting in breaking her wings.
