4 Welcome to Thorndale!!

It was an hour after they left the petrol station and it was sure not an enthusiastic environment in the truck. Well sure that Dominic and Lara had to take turns in sitting back in the truck but they were feeling fugitives and that they were running from something.

Dominic was listening to his classic songs, well how like music lovers do. And Lara, well, she was, trying to 'comment' on her classmate's photo, but was unable due to 'turbulence' caused by the truck.

They have crossed half of the state right now, Mary was not as enthusiastic as she was before, and now they were traveling on another highway, in the scorching sun, and loneliness surrounding them. Dominic and Mary were still able to hold up the environment, but Lara, she was posting '#highway to hell'.She came back to earth when suddenly Mary cried. "Boys and girls, we have arrived at Thorndale." while having eyes of hope after seeing a board saying. 'Welcome to Thorndale'.

Dominic who was still listening to his classics turned his head and looked at the board, which was going in the distance. And mixed emotions were formed on his face.

After 30 minutes of the drive, they were covered with buildings and residential areas, people talking, kids running around, and… people staring at them. Mary was the first to speak " Well this is a small town and we are new, it is kind of expected." Lara glanced once more at her surrounding and then looked at Dominic, her expressions saying ' I doubt what mom says'.

The town was neither populated nor deserted, there was an equal balance to everything, people talking happily, bar fights, School students studying and seniors bullying. This was a lot normal scene for the trio, who have stayed at many places like this.

While they were driving, for so long, Dominic and Lara felt something amiss, they looked towards each other and nodded. Dominic then turns to Mary, and asks " Aunt shouldn't we should take right." "Ohh yes… you are correct" Mary hurriedly said. "Mom, we are lost aren't we?" Lara looks at her mom in suspicion. Mary, who was caught red-handed, then finally gives in " Yes we are lost, how about we stop at a diner, we would also have our lunch and also be able to find our address." Both of them agreed and then the trio started to look for a diner, soon they arrived at one, Mary orders the food, while Dominic was reading his book and Lara was finally happy with finding the network in the place.

Soon their food arrived, the waitress was stunned to see unfamiliar faces, she glanced once more at Dominic and Lara, and then headed back to the kitchen while typing something on her phone.

Lara was not as observative as Dominic and didn't notice the gaze of the waitress. Dominic let out a bitter smile, and thought ' It will be a great welcoming entry into the new high school.'
