Talking

He left his friends and started walking towards her. She almost panicked and tripped but managed to right herself before she fell. She could feel the heat in her face and knew she would be blushing furiously. Stupid pale skin showed every blush like she was on fire. "Hey! Wait up! I wanted to talk to you!" She stopped and turned toward him but her head remained lowered. She was afraid to see him this close. Afraid that she would see disgust in his eyes when he looked at her. He didn't seem to be put off that she hadn't said anything and continued talking. "So I've noticed that I see you here every day..Would you like to hang out some time? I am having a party this weekend if you'd like to come!" Dawn chewed her bottom lip and worried about whether he knew she came this way specifically to see him. Her voice was barely above a whisper when she spoke. "I'm sorry, my parents won't allow me to go." He didn't seem deterred and replied with, "That's ok. How about we message on ICX then? Here's my number! Add me when you get home! I'll be waiting." He flashed a sweet smile and ran to catch up with his friends. She stood there bewildered as to what had just transpired. Did he really want to talk to her? Why? No one wanted to talk to her except Jen. She had been Dawn's only friend for years. She didn't know what to make of it. When she got home she immediately went to her computer and added Matt to her ICX account. To her surprise, he was already online and sent her a message straight away. "Sorry if I startled you earlier at school. I have been wanting to talk to you for a while. I'd like to get to know you better. Would you mind if we chatted every once in a while?" Dawn thought that this was the best day of her life. She would finally get to talk to the boy of her dreams. She already knew plenty about him from watching him for the past 2 years. She was far from a stalker but she did make every effort to see him whenever she could. He was the only bright spot she could ever concentrate on. Home was hell, school was hell. All she had in this life was Jen and the few glances of Matt she could get. Jen had her own troubles so Dawn tried to avoid troubling her whenever possible. She really felt she had no one she could talk to sometimes as Jen was already done with Dawn's obsession with Matt. Dawn and Matt chatted for most of the evening and when she went to bed that night she had sweet dreams for the first time in what seemed like forever.
