1 01: In My Memory

Aamon

Come on brother, just let me in.

Freak! Don't even think about it bastard.

Another nightmare strikes again. I tried to wake up but in this situation, I can't even opened my eyes. I know I was awake but i couldn't move. Everything is dark right here and all I can hear are voices. They are all familiar, it's like they are from someone in my memory.

Hey brother don't you remember me?

I force myself to open my eyes but something is pulling my whole body down. I tried to do everything I can but nothing was effective.

You killed me, Brother.

"Stop! Please stop!" I cried as I beg for mercy.

I then felt something that was shaking my whole body and bringing me back to my senses. I tried to move again but this time I was able to move my head from right to left.

I then heard a voice shouting, not too far from my bed "Mon! MON! For bloody God's sake WAKE UP!"

I suddenly opened my eyes while breathing so heavily as if I was being chased by something. My sweat is falling from my forehead and my eyes are now completely widened.

What's wrong, Brother?

After putting myself together, I finally had a courage to glance at the direction where the voice came from. There, I saw my uncle with a worried face. He's just sitting on the chair next to my bed while holding my right shoulder and my arm by his both hands. I closed my eyes again to regain some energy and then heard him sighed.

"Another nightmare again?" He let go of me and stand up.

I opened my eyes once again and pull my body upwards to put me in a sitting position. When I'm done doing that, focus my gaze in my uncle's eyes and nodded.

He looked at the window and said "It's not your fault that you're having some premonitions about your love ones."

"But I'm killing them in my nightmares." I object as my gaze turned into glare for a second.

He let out a heavy sigh again and walk away from me. When he reached my door, he stopped and looked back at me.

"You're going to study in the school where I'm working, in that case I can assure that you are in a good condition." He then closed the door and left me alone.

Well I can't do anything about it. Even if I refuse to, he will still find a way to keep me in the range of his sight. It's fine for me because it for my own sake and if I don't do it, I might die. He's been a good uncle and he'll never be one of them. Those people who think that I'm a monster, my uncle would never think of me like that.

We're living together since I was seven? I think. But most importantly, he never fought against me. He's always by my side everytime a problem rises. He never blame me for the crime I possibly done. Even though he's a jerk sometimes, he never abandoned me like my parents did. He took the responsibility as long as I can remember.

I shook my head and tried to think about the things I'm about to do today. I stand up and fix my bed, trying to have a clean room. I then heard my door opened while I was fixing my bed.

"Hey how long it will take for you to come out of this room? You are about to miss the breakfast that's why you better hurry and come to the kitchen." He furrowed his eyes as he said those words.

I just nodded and continue on doing my business here. He carefully closed the door and I heard his footsteps walking away from my room.

Why don't you come out and eat, brother?

This voices again. I keep on ignoring them afterwards they will just be silent. But now they are being annoying and they won't stop on whispering things I can't understand. To be clear, I understand the words but not the meaning. I don't trust them that much because if I do, I might put myself in danger.

They know that I have a step brother but they don't need to act like him in order to make me suffer. My suffering is enough to prove to them that they are not genuine.

What the hell, freak? Are you just ignoring us right now.

"Shut up." I murmured to myself.

If someone heard that, it will put me in a great danger. I just want a peaceful life.

And yet you never had one, brother.

"I will." I once again whispered to myself.

Why they are being so annoying? The last time they were acting like this was the last time I saw my brother. Wait, it means nothing right?

I almost stumbled down to the floor, thankfully I was quick enough to hold on something and retain my balance. I then looked around, securing that no one saw that. I then breathe heavily, trying to catch my breath.

Did you just realize something, brother?

I just ignored them and went to my door. I open it to see an empty hallway with a lot chandeliers and some good flooring. I nervously walk through it while scanning the whole area, making sure that there's no one around. When I reached the open arch on the left side, I stopped. I pray to God that my uncle doesn't scold me from being late in breakfast.

"I know that you're there, Mon." He said while chewing some food in his mouth.

I then came in to the dining area and sat down next to him. It's a really long table with 12 empty chairs. Yes, we are living in a mansion, he inherited this from my grandmother who died while she was sleeping. I eat peacefully while he's talking about my new school.

"C'mon Mon, you've been homeschooled since the day I took you. Now, I'm giving you a chance to have friends." He's glancing at me gracefully as he take a bite of steak with his fork.

I didn't respond, instead I continue to eat my meal as peaceful as I can while he continue on chatting.

"Besides, I can watch you there. There's a dorm there if you want to stay. We don't need to waste our money in transportation and it's a prestigious school. Anything you want is in there and don't worry about the tuition, i can handle it. So please be happy, I promise you'll be safe-"

I interrupted him by saying "I'm not saying that I don't like it."

His eyes furrowed and he said "But it looks like you don't like my idea. It's for your sake, Mon."

I avoid his gaze and looked in the other way. I just sighed and said nothing. He then hold my hand and tried to met my gaze but he failed.

"Don't worry, Mon. I'm always here to protect you."
