1 Chapter 1: Oreo Chocolate

Theo's pov:

"Theo get up or else you're going to be late for school!" I heard my mom yell from downstairs. I love her but I love my bed more. "Theo if you don't get up now you know what I will do!" I ignore her once again but this time..... "I'm awake!!" I screamed as I felt the ice cold water dripping off my body and completely freezing me. "Did you have to throw ice water on me?" I ask my mom glaring at her. "It's the only effective way I know how to wake you up. " She smirked. "Besides if you get up late you going to make Alyssa late as well." She yelled while leaving my room. Oh shit, I completely forgot!! You're probably wondering what's going on well let me explain: My name is Theo Woods and I am an only child. I live with my mom and she works hard to try and give me the life that she thinks I deserve. I have a best friend named Alyssa Prescott and no there is not a potential love story brewing. She is like a sister to me and I try to help her with her problems but the problem with that is that she shuts me out sometimes. But that is just how she is and now I'm on my way to fetch her for school. I just hope her parents aren't at home. I would tell you about those problems but I'll wait until you meet her. I arrived at her house and see that her parents aren't at home. They hardly ever are. I go to the door and ring the bell. "You're late again. " she greets me with a smirk. I put my hand to my chest mockingly " Ouch, that hurt cupcake. " I smile at her. She glares at me, I know she doesn't like being called cupcake but she makes an exception for me. She walks back inside and I attempt to follow her (keyword being attempt). "No, you don't have time to come in because you are late maybe if you were early you could've come inside. " She gives me her famous sad smile. I don't argue and go to my car to open the door for her. She laughs but gets in. I turn the radio up as I reverse out of the driveway, and just my luck, friends by Anne-Marie ft. Marshmallow starts playing, I reach to change the song but my hand gets swatted away. "You say you love me I say you crazy We're nothing more than friends You're not my lover more like my brother I know you since we were like 10 Don't mess it up -" She stops singing as she realised I turned the volume down. "Why'd you stop singing?" I look at her with sad eyes. "Why'd you put the volume down?" She asked shyly. I look at her and say "You know you have an amazing voice right, you need to show it off. Alyssa its a gift but it can also be a curse because you have a voice that you are afraid to use." I look at her and see she is about to start crying. "I'm sorry cupcake I just don't like seeing you sad and when you sing you have the biggest most happiest smile on your face. " She gives me a sad smile and gets out of the car. When did we reach school?? I get out and follow her inside, I leave her at her locker and go to mine. As I take out my books for the day I feel a heavy hand on my shoulder, I turn around to see the idiot himself Aaron Summers, he came in to the school late and I became his friend he is Alyssa's friend as well but they're not as close as Alyssa and myself. "Hey Aaron, what's up?" I give him a bro-hug/ handshake, we made it up when we met. "Nothing much but I think I saw your cupcake crying by her locker. " He smirks at me. I feel like such an ass. "Yeah its my fault she's crying. " Aaron looks shocked for a moment but then remembers the only times I make her cry,"You started talking about her voice again,didn't you?" I gave him a small smile. "God Theo don't you ever learn!" "Look I know you didn't mean to, but give her a break, even though I don't know what's going on in her life I know she has a difficult one and trust me she doesn't need pressure from you as well. " He gives me a reassuring smile. Aaron is right. "You're right, I'm gonna make it up to her. " I'm going to apologise to my cupcake and I know her weakness. Call me evil but when it comes to our friendship I would do anything for her. "Now?"Aaron asks. "No during lunch but I have to start planning now." I leave with a huge smile on my face. I head to my first class of the day: Math. Don't get me wrong I like the subject but the teacher is such a bore and Alyssa isn't in this class with me which only makes it worse. But even if she was she would've ignored me after this morning. Man I'm such an idiot. I'm greeted by an annoyingly high pitched voice "Hey handsome, is anyone sitting here?" Rachel tries flirting but fails miserably. "Hello Rachel and yes that seat is already taken." I say without skipping a beat. "By who?" She looks irritated now. "By me, " I look up to see Aaron smiling at me "so if you wouldn't mind could you please move. " Rachel huffs and walks away. I give Aaron a look of gratitude,"thanks man. " I give him a small smile. He laughs and says"No problem besides why would I ever let you die from sitting next to that high pitched mouse. " We both burst out laughing " Besides you can't die just yet you still need to apologise to Alyssa." Mrs. Gonzales walks in and the lesson begins. For those who are wondering the high pitched mouse is Rachel Storm. All the guys want her and all the girls wanna be her. Well every guy except me. I honestly don't see what they see in her? I start taking notes but halfway through the class I start thinking about my plan to apologise to Alyssa. I've had Math,English and Chemistry (which I had with Alyssa but she wasn't really talking to me) Now it's lunch and I'm on my way to our table. I sat down and Alyssa looked at me but didn't say anything. I sighed and got up,I went to the line and bought a chocolate chip muffin. I went back to the table and placed it in front of her,"Cupcake I'm really very extremely sorry for this morning could you please forgive me?" She looked at me and then looked away but she looked at the muffin longingly. I chuckled and sat next to her,"I also have this, " I pulled out a slab of Oreo chocolate her favourite "I figured you would drive a hard bargain for an apology but luckily I don't mind. " I smiled at her, she looked me in my eyes and I saw her smile. "You're lucky I can't live without you by my side. " She smiled and snatched the chocolate from my hand. Don't worry cupcake I will never leave. I look at her eating the muffin happily and it makes me happy but like they say all good things must come to an end. "So you choose a slut over me?!" I cringed at the high pitched voice behind me. I look at Alyssa and see her face pale. I look at Rachel and see a smirk on her face, oh how I wish I could slap her right now but unfortunately I don't hit girls. "No its the opposite actually I chose a girl who is true to herself over a slut." I give her a sickeningly sweet smile. Alyssa looks at me and I see that she is scared but I just give her a reassuring smile. She nods her head and carries on eating her muffin. Rachel glares at her and walks away. "Man can't that girl ever take a hint?" Aaron asks looking at Rachel. "What do you mean?" Alyssa asks him. "She came up to Theo in Math and asked to sit next to him." Alyssa looks at me and I nod my head to confirm that whatever Aaron is saying is true. "What did you say?" She directed that question at me. "I told her that it was taken but then she asked me by who." Alyssa looked at me expecting me to finish. "And then the sexy hero aka myself walks in and saves the day." Aaron says with a smile on his face. "You are too full of yourself." Alyssa says while smiling and shaking her head. The bell rang signalling the end of lunch. Aaron bolts out of the cafeteria. "Are we that bad he has to literally run away from us?" Alyssa asks trying to sound hurt but I can see a smile forming. "Nah, he has Chemistry now and you know how Mr.Suárez is about tardiness. She nods her head and heads out of the cafeteria. I follow her because we both have Biology now. We get to class and I let Alyssa step in first. "What a gentlemen." She giggles as she gets in. We find our seats and sit down. Even though I love to sit by the window I know Alyssa loves it more so I always let her. I try to make her day at school a happy one because I know what she goes home to everyday. The rest of the day goes by quickly and soon we are waiting in the parking by my car for Aaron. He shows up and looks angry. But before I could ask what was wrong Alyssa spoke up,"Theo can we go get some ice cream?" I look at her confused,"Now?" she nodded her head and pointed at Aaron,"someone needs to cool down." We both look at him and start laughing he joins in after a while. "Yes,ice cream would be great but did you have to make the joke?" Aaron pouted. "At least it made you laugh." Alyssa smiled at him. We got in my car and I drove us to the ice cream parlour. We stood at the counter and Aaron winked at the waitress. "What can I get you guys today?" She asked blushing. "Can I get 2 scoops of chocolate and 2 scoops of vanilla." I ordered for Alyssa and myself. "I'll get a scoop of strawberry,chocolate and mint." Aaron placed his order. "Anything else?" The waitress asked. "Yeah actually could you add your number with that?" Aaron smirked at her and she blushed. I shook my head at my friend and walked away from the counter leading Alyssa to a booth. We sat down and a few minutes later Aaron came by with our ice cream. "Will you ever change?" Alyssa asks him. Aaron looks as if he is deep in thought," I don't think so,why are you jealous?" He smirks at her. "Nope I'm just feeling sorry for the women who has to deal with you for the rest of her life." Alyssa grins. We finished our ice cream and I took them home. I dropped Aaron off first since his house is closer. As I reached Alyssa's house I looked towards her and saw her face pale. I was about to stop and turn into the driveway when,"Don't stop." She said with a blank expression on her face. I did as I was told and stopped three houses away from hers. When I passed her house I saw the reason why she went so pale. Her parents were at home.

Alyssa's pov:

I woke up to shouting outside my room. Nothing particular just my parents with their normal morning routine of shouting at each other. I got out of bed to get ready. I'm going to school with Theo today. Even though I know he is probably still sleeping I get ready anyways. When I'm done getting ready I wait in my room with the door locked as I know if I go downstairs I'll be in the middle of something messy. After 10 minutes I hear the car leave the yard, they've left for work. I go unlock my door and slowly look out into the hallway, I sneak downstairs and breathe a sigh of relief when I realise they've gone. I go to the grocery cupboard and take out a box of chocolate chip poptarts and put them in the toaster. I eat my poptarts and look at the time. Theo is late again. I am currently sitting in Theo's car and I hear my song come on,friends by Anne-Marie and Marshmallow,Theo wants to change it but I swat his hand away. I start singing and I'm really in the mood until I realise that my voice is louder than the radio. I stop singing and Theo looks at me. I mean I don't have a bad voice its just that I don't have the important people in my life believing that I can sing. "Why'd you stop singing?" He asks sadly. "Why'd you turn the volume down?" I asked him shyly. I get really shy when people hear me sing no matter who it is or how they heard. Theo starts his usual rant about my voice but I just block him out and know I'm gonna end up crying later on. I'm in chemistry and I just give Theo a glance I'm still pretty upset about this morning. The day went by pretty fast and Theo apologised with a chocolate muffin and Oreo chocolate, who says no to Oreo chocolate. I think Aaron had something to do with that because he saw me crying. We are currently sitting in the ice cream parlour waiting for our ice cream. "Will you ever change?" I ask Aaron cause I really am curious to know whether he plans on treating a girl right. "I don't think so, why are you jealous?" He smirks at me. As if,I don't really think of Aaron in that way. He has a great personality trust me but I don't think he would be able to handle my demons. I grin at him,"Nope I'm just feeling sorry for the women who has to deal with you for the rest of her life." I look at Theo and see amusement in his eyes. Aaron and I are always joking around so he's kinda gotten used to it. In the beginning he always thought he had to argue for me. I'm glad he cares about me so much. I actually don't know what I would do if he had to break my trust. "Why were you so angry?" I ask Aaron. His smile drops and his anger is back but not as bad. "Rachel is my partner for our history assignment and she is making me do all the work." He scofffed. "She even told me that she knows I'm not smart but I should maybe pay you to do it for me." He says while looking at me. "Pay me how?" I asked him completely confused. He just looked at me and after a few seconds I understood." She told you to sleep with her didn't she?" Theo asked. Aaron's silence was a good enough answer. Theo banged his fist on the table. When he looked towards me,I could see the anger in his eyes. I shook my head and his eyes softened. I knew if he did something to her he would be in big trouble. I don't want him to get a criminal record because of me. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if something happened to my best friend. After that we finished our ice cream and left the parlour. We dropped Aaron off first because he lives quite close to the ice cream parlour. As we get closer to my house I feel the colour drain from my face. My parents are home and if they see Theo dropping me of.... No they won't see us. I look at Theo to see him already looking at me concerned. "Don't stop." I say blankly and I'm glad he doesn't. He stops three houses down and I get out. "Are you going to be alright?" He asks worried. "Yeah I'll be fine, don't worry. Thanks for the ice cream and don't forget to do your homework!" I scream as I start walking towards my house.
