69 Naruto vs Pain part 2

Pain then continued "judging by your expression, Zetsu must not have told you about it. right?. well, research on your own then". Meanwhile, Madara thought "no matter how I see it, Pain gonna lose. even if he wins here, he will be defeated by Naruto. I don't need to waste my time here. after Naruto defeats him, I should claim those eyes before this brat takes control of the husk.

while black Zetsu frowned "I need to talk to him after this. I need to confirm something. It's not surprising that he save Konoha and Naruto but since he kept it as a secret from me all this time, I'm not sure about his allegiance anymore.

suddenly, Nagato lost his connection with puppet Yahiko. Meanwhile, since Deva path Pain was just a corpse without chakra, he didn't felt any other effects. Shuichi did some hand seals

Five blue fire orbs floated around him attacked Pain. only a dried flesh left in front of him. He smiled "now that's too easy". Then he found out that the chakra rods which were embedded on him didn't melt and were completely intact. He took all of them and observed them and tried to break them.

They were broken easily "oh! it seems their melting point is just higher that's all. But what kind of metal is this? I should research it after I went back. If I have corpses and this metal, can I also make puppets like him?".

Then he turned back and spoke, "now that the battle is over, isn't it the time you give me some kind of explanation, Zetsu?". Black Zetsu rose from the ground and appeared before him "before that, I need an answer. you killed the leader and obstruct our plan to get all Bijuu. does that mean you....".

Shuichi interrupted him "haven't I done the exact thing that you want me to do?. I awakened Rinnegan. Pain lost his path of peace and intend to destroy entire Konoha, I eliminated him. even if Naruto doesn't eliminate his original body today, He will get killed by me for sure. as for Bijuu. you don't need Naruto for that. I have an alternative solution for that".

Zetsu looked at him for a while "fine. I got my answer. but it isn't the right place to discuss the plan. follow me to Mountain's graveyard". After Black Zetsu disappeared, Shuichi made a hand seal "release". The ice dome which covered Konoha disappeared suddenly making everyone bewildered.

Meanwhile, at Nagato's hideout

Naruto stood before Nagato while he asked "do you hate me? you are facing the object of your vendetta. Do you wish to exact revenge? Nothing in this world change even if you kill Pain now and inflict your revenge. All of it will be just self-satisfaction".

Naruto then started to remember Jiraya's death and Fourth Hokage's words. He was feeling frustrated about what to do. He was then pierced by a chakra rod in the stomach but Naruto didn't move a bit. Nagato was surprised "why didn't you dodged it?".

Naruto unconsciously tapped into Kyuubi's power with his sage mode where his eyes have vertical slits on top of his horizontal slits. Nagato shivered when he felt Kyuubi's rage from the chakra rod. After it stopped, Naruto replied "I came here...intending to talk to you. But I also wanted to confirm something. That's why I'm alone".

Nagato asked, "confirm something?". Naruto replied "If I stood before my enemy who killed my friends or family, what would I do? I wasn't sure of myself". Nagato asked, "And?". Naruto gritted his teeth while pulling out the chakra rod "I can't forgive you. Even now, I want to kill you so badly. I can't stop shaking".

He pulled out the chakra rod and threw it aside while Konan surprised "he can resist Nagato's control this close?". He dashed towards Nagato trying to punch him while Konan immediately stood before Nagato to face him. Just when he reached Konan, he calmed down and stopped and spoke "pervy sage once said to me that he believed a day would come when people can truly understand each other.

I wasn't paying much attention when he told me that he entrust me finding the answer.

Thinking back, I guess I finally understand what pervy sage words really meant. My father believed that he was right. even I want to believe and prove he was right". Nagato replied "still, it doesn't change the fact that you can't forgive me. words of forgiveness come easy but in actuality, it isn't".

Naruto replied "I know. but remembering my dad's words and pervy sage's teachings, I can't help but ask how could the pervy sage's students turned out like you. You keep talking about Pain and peace. Tell me your story. After hearing it, I'll give you my answer".

Konan looked at Nagato "why are you wasting your time on this brat. we already lost the battle against Shuichi. now either let's capture him or just escape from here if we can't". Nagato turned deaf ear to her words and stared at Naruto for a while "very well, I'll tell you our Pain".

Meanwhile, at Mountain graveyard

Zetsu spoke to Shuichi "Nagato must have found out on his own. even I was surprised about it.come to think of it, it isn't impossible to find out about the plan as he possesses Rinnegan and was connected to the statue". After hearing everything, Shuichi thought "so, my initial guess was right after all. it is a super genjutsu on a world scale. but why do I feel there's something more to it?".

Shuichi asked, "how do you know about it or rather how does Madara know about it? How are you so sure that it will be just like you mentioned". Zetsu replied, "it was stated on Uchiha stone tablet which was written by Rikodou sennin himself. since you have rinnegan, you can fully decipher it. come with me".

They reached an underground room which was closed all this time. They entered the room and found the stone tablet. Zetsu spoke "it was passed down in the Uchiha clan for a millennium. used to be Naka shrine in the Uchiha clan compound but later shifted here a couple of years ago. If I'm right, Nagato must have read this and found out the plan".

Shuichi activated his Rinnegan and looked at the information on the tablet and frowned while thinking "but I don't understand this. How and why did God tree suddenly changed into Ten tails? and why there is no mention of our ancestor.

Father once said that our ancestor is the brother of Rikodou sennin. maybe he died way early. If there's such a strong beast, he shouldn't have battled it alone right? and if he battled along with ancestor, he should have written it.

But is this stone tablet really written by Rikodou sennin? who knows. well, along with the stories passed down, Me awakening Rinnegan is a solid proof that he existed at one point but still...I'm getting a feeling that something is wrong but can't point it out exactly".

Zetsu upon observing his calm expression on the surface fell silent and didn't say anything about Nagato or Tobi was just the sacrifice to bring back Madara from dead and thought "I don't need those fools anymore".

He spoke "you already saw how Nagato turned out. All we need to kill him and get control over the statue. and two Bijuu chakras oh! by the way, you said you have an alternative earlier. what is it?".

Meanwhile back at Nagato's hideout,

With Nagato's story done, Naruto answers that he still cannot forgive him but will not abandon their sensei's legacy and will keep striving for peace no matter what pain he is put through. Nagato reflects on Naruto's words, thinking back to how inspired the lead character in Jiraiya's story who Naruto was named after.

Nagato spoke, "I think I shall believe in you Naruto". he made a hand seal "Rinne Tensei no jutsu". In the middle of Konoha, those who died that day were revived one by one leaving many people in extreme confusion.
