The Trial

All Alexander could see was darkness however what he could feel was a cold floor, however, he was also feeling a pain that could make a mortal's soul dissipate. He could not see the enemy but the enemy could see him, he could not injure the enemy however the enemy could injure him.

Alexander quickly retrieved the sword from his abdomen as blood started to spurt out from his abdomen, however, this was his only chance to kill this enemy.

His vision was still of darkness however the moment he touched the sword his vision turned from that to that of light, he could see clearly now. He then saw the enemy to which his surprise, was himself, the figure was smiling as he stared at Alexander.

The figure then swung towards Alexander all he could do was attempt to block the sword, but a godly trial was never simple, the moment the sword cross paths with his arm immediately went numb as he dumbly stared at the figure.

Alexander knew that he could not win the battle based on strength but through knowledge and tricks. However, despite this fact, he currently had nothing on him besides this sword so he would have to use what he learned from his previous life to win this battle.

Alexander then tried taunting the figure as he got closer to a wall, he wanted to make the figure rush into the wall, so he could then stab once he dodges.

However, the taunt did little to the figure as it looked at Alexander with a puzzled face. He could do little besides trying to win with strategic moves in a fast-paced battle which would be difficult even with his previous lives memories.

All Alexander could do was rush at the figure, who in turn rushed at Alexander and swung his sword.

Alexander dodged the sword and then stabbed his sword towards the opponent's heart, which succeeded due to the figure stumbling after the swing.

In his mind, he then heard a mechanical voice speak

"Congratulations, Human you have defeated a Rank three mortal warrior with the strength of a mortal without rank. Your next task shall be given, I wish you luck."

With that once again he was teleported to an unknown place, however, this place was with light, and his wound was still spurting out blood which was worrying, he now needed a bandage of sorts.

Alexander quickly spotted linen on the ground the moment he picked it up he heard a furious roar, he then spotted a one-eyed giant. It was a cyclops a rank ten mortal beast.

Beasts were ranked similar to humans however they were much stronger within the same rank, however, the intelligence of these beasts was far from humans.

Seeing the cyclops his face quickly turned grim as a trace of despair was seen on his face, how was a mortal going to beat a rank ten mortal warrior, this was one of the first times in history that this would occur.

Without time to wrap the linen around his abdomen he quickly ran towards a cave he had spotted in the distance, luckily the trial was not impossible he still had his sword which gave him seemingly vision in the darkness.

However, the cyclops did not follow Alexander into the cave which made him have an ominous feeling erupt within his heart, what would be within this cave that even scared a rank 10 mortal warrior?

His options were to charge deeper into the cave or to face a rank ten mortal warrior which was scared of what was within the cave. Alexander chose to go deeper into the cave, however, within risks a reward would await one.

As Alexander got deeper into the cave his body began to get hotter, even though he had moved around three hundred or so feet. Despite this fact he chose to keep going, this may be a good thing but most likely it was a bad thing.

After a couple of minutes of walking, he felt the gravity was getting much stronger than from when he had entered the cave. Alexander then knew that this cave would be testing him in aspects, there could be something beneficial for his class within the cave!

After another couple of minutes of walking the gravity was now around four times stronger than when Alexander had entered the cave which was terrifying since he had only walked around eight hundred feet, which meant every four hundred feet the gravity would intensify twice.

Despite this fact Alexander kept walking, he would be able to gain something that would be beneficial in the long run than the short.

But Alexander had completely forgotten about the wound on his abdomen as he kept walking the injury only intensified and more blood would spill out he quickly wrapped the linen he had gained around his abdomen.

An altar entered Alexander's vision as he walked another two hundred feet after the altar was the cave wall, he quickly walked towards the altar as glee entered his face. The altar was a place to tamper one's attributes which would be helpful for himself since he would have to face a level ten mortal warrior.

Unbeknownst to himself, the injury on his abdomen had mysteriously healed when he walked onto the altar. A mechanical voice had once again rung throughout his mind as he touched a pillar of the altar.

"Congratulations, you have found the Shadow Altar, please tell the attributes that you wish to tamper, you can tamper your attributes a total of five hundred times."

For each rank one would have to tamper their attributes a hundred times, then they would achieve a "Rank Up" One could tamper their attributes through many ways, one would be an altar another would be through battle essence.

Alexander then needed to figure out which attributes would be most beneficial for his future. Of course, he would also need to factor in the rank 10 mortal warrior cyclops.

Time to find out what attributes are :P
