16 The Other side

I sprinted towards Emma’s room upstairs and saw the door knob hanging out. As if it was locked from inside but someone’s brute force completely broke it. My heart skipped a beat…. Where is Emma….did the same people come to her house too? But how would they know anything about Emma in the first place? What does Emma have to do with this!?

I rushed back to my apartment and filled in Mark with what I had witnessed; my lips had turned white imagining what would have happened to Emma. The bearded guy was awake. I turned my phone’s recorder on and stood in front of him. “So I’ll try to make this as short as possible. Did one of you break into that house next to ours? On whose orders? Before you decide whether to answer these questions I will mention that I won’t be handing you to the police. So if you had any hope of your boss bailing you of jail, well too bad, I’ll dispose of you off myself.
