5 Emma

Emma had been friends with me since high school. We lived right next door so our parents were really good friends too. So whenever their family used to come visit us, Emma would spend time hanging around with me. She was always enthusiastic about everything, always smiling even if she was facing any burdens. Having a very positive and caring aura around her, and she always tried to help everyone even if it meant her loss. So what does an extremely caring person who stumbles upon a hopeless child do? Take care of them I guess? Unfortunately, I was the hopeless child here.

We got to know each other after we both were admitted in the same high school. I didn't used to talk much and I was perfectly fine with it. I mean it's better to enjoy your own company rather than waste your time and energy in talking about topics that don't matter, and listen to their useless opinions which don't have any worth. This might sound harsh but it's the reality, it won't matter if you like coke or Pepsi more. Even If you liked coke more, the whole world won't just boycott Pepsi because you think so now would it? I would rather keep my opinions to myself and invest my energy on things which matter; socializing just wasn't one of them.

Although Emma was the one always forcing me in random things asking stupid questions about everything. I didn't want to, I couldn't care less, but I didn't have a choice either. I won't lie if I said I enjoyed Emma giving me some of her time, it's not that bad if u have someone to pass your boring time with, especially if they are so thrilled to be around you. That's how I remember my high school days to be, it was either boring or it was Emma.

"Emma you are 9 inches too small to worry about me just yet", she pouted and exclaimed "shush, everyone was talking about you in the library, I had to rush here." Seeing her same old caring eyes again I said "it's all resolved now, you don't have to worry."

'trrrrrrrringgggggggg' the sound of the bell right on top of the headmaster's office began to hum indicating the 3rd period was over. Emma grabbed my hand and drags me without any consent all of a sudden. "Let's goooo Xain!! we are gonna be late for the 4th period." wondering where Emma had this monstrous strength even when she was just 5 ft never ceases to blow my mind but ...I don't to want to go yet...I still need to apologize to Isabella. "Isabella! Let's talk later!" Isabella smiled and nodded as Emma dragged me to the classroom.

I waved Emma who was next door goodbye as I opened my door, threw my bag on the sofa and went straight to my room laying dead on the bean bag. "phew....that was one hell of a day" I reached for my right pocket as I felt my phone vibrating, it was a call from an unknown number.

"Hello, who's this" I picked up the call and spoke. "hey Xain is that you, it's me, Isabella." I was completely overtook by shock as I sat up straight and said "oh Isabella, wait how did you get my number?" not that I mind her calling me but the only person who has my number is Emma, and I am pretty sure she didn't get it from her cause she was with me all day. "Oh I searched it up in the attendance register of your class before leaving; you forgot your headphones were with me!"

Oh wait.... WAIT....I FORGOT! When the headmaster came in she hid the headphones in her bag! And I forgot to take them back. Lovely Xain, just lovely. "If you want to, you can come over to my place for a minute and pick them up, I'll message my address to you, is that okay? I stood dumbstruck for a second...go to her place??? Didn't this escalate quite...quickly?? "Or if you want I can come by your place to drop them off, I don't really mind."
