Mikhail’s Source Of Confidence.

The 13th Imperial Prince's Residence.

"Hahaha! This bastard thinks he can tie me down by giving me this so-called impossible mission. I'll show him why the wind can't be bound."

The emperor might think that he has won by giving Mikhail this impossible task. However, he was dead wrong.

One of the reasons it was impossible to eliminate the Ether Church followers in any kingdoms was because it was extremely difficult to identify them.

They didn't go around with tattoos on their faces or bodies saying that they were Ether Church followers. They were extremely secretive and elusive. That was even more true for the high-level members.

This dark organization was so secretive that even its high-ranking followers didn't know how many of them were in the organization. They've never been together or gathered in one place.

Not only that, the Ether Church had followers in every corner of the Antheia World and some of them held high positions on both the civil and military sides in many influences.

They were like a plague or cancer that has been eating away and corroding the Antheia World from the inside.

Some people even considered them more dangerous to the inhabitants of the Antheia World than the Ether Beasts.

Many Kings and influential people tried to eliminate them but to no avail. They were only able to kill some low-level members at most.

It was also the main reason that the Emperor had given Mikhail this quest. He already knew full well that it was an impossible task to complete.

Giving Mikhail this quest was no different than telling him that he didn't approve of him relinquishing his right to the throne.

However, what the emperor didn't know was that Mikhail had a way to identify any Ether Church followers. Unless that person was Noble Rank Knights or Master Mage and above, he had a way to determine whether they were Ether Church followers or not.

The system within Mikhail possessed an ability which he called 'The Eye of The Truth'. This function of the system allowed Mikhail to see the stats of anyone two ranks above him including their affiliation.

Though it wasn't perfect yet, it was still extremely useful. For instance, when Mikhail met someone he already knew, the system would show him the name of that person including his power level.

However, when he met an individual for the first time, the system would simply mention their race and their power level as it couldn't any information of that person from his mind. But it was different when it came to a follower of the Ether Church.

Even if he met an Ether Church follower the first time and didn't know about his affiliation, the system would instantly identify that person as an Ether Church follower along with his power level. Unless that person was a Noble Rank knight and above.

Though Mikhail didn't have an exact answer as to why the system was able to identify the Ether Church followers, he had a general idea.

All the Ether Church followers had some kinda parasites Ether beasts living within them. This parasite couldn't be detected with magic as it had become one with the hosts.

This parasite Ether beast could only be seen after the host was killed. It was also like a trademark for the followers of the Ether Church. This parasite could also tell when one of their own was nearby.

But for some reason, the system within him seemed to be able to sense this parasite within anyone which was why he was able to tell whether or not a person was an Ether Church follower or not.

"Well, I've been looking for ways to plunder and loot those damn nobles in the capital, but it seems like dear father emperor has given the perfect tool to do so."

"It won't be long before I completely unseal the Demon God Avaritia's Unique Skill, Plunderer," Mikhail said with a mysterious smile on his face.

At this moment, Mikhail's mouth couldn't stop watering as he was thinking about the Demon God Avaritia's Unique Skill.

This was an abnormal skill that allowed the user to absorb the essence of the dead to increase one's strength as well their skills. Who wouldn't go crazy for such a Skill?

"Hahaha! I can't wait to unseal that skill." Said Mikhail with a greedy look in his eyes.

"Well, I think it's time for me to show my abilities. Before eliminating the Ether Church bugs in the capital as well as elsewhere, I need to first take care of the ones within the Imperial Palace."

"If one wants to eliminate a foreign invasion or threat, one needs to first deal with internal threats…'

At this moment, Mikhail was lost in thought as he was formulating a plan to completely get rid of the Ether Church followers throughout the Helios Empire.

He was the only that could identify them due to the system. As such, he was looking for ways so that other people could as well which was not an easy task.

"Well, let's get rid of the ones within the imperial palace and capital first, then I'll think about what to do next." He concluded before calling Martin.

"Your Highness." Greeted Martin.

"Listen, I have a task for you. I want you to lock down the entire Imperial Palace. No one comes in and no one goes out."

"Then, I want you to summon all the maids, servants, and the imperial knights within one of the Main Hall of the Imperial Palace." Said Mikhail with a serious expression on his face.

Martin's expression suddenly changed after hearing Mikhail's request. Martin already knew about the mission given to the 13th Imperial Prince. As such, he already knew what he intended to do the moment he made that request.

"I am sorry your highness, but I'm afraid you don't have the power nor the authority to summon all these people. Only his majesty the emperor has this kinda power." Answered Martin as politely and respectfully as he could.

Indeed, Mikhail might be an Imperial Prince but he didn't have that kinda power. He only had power over the people in his residence, his servants.

He couldn't go to the 1st Imperial Prince's residence and ordered his servants around as he pleased without his permission.

"Here, this should give you all the power and authority you need," Mikhail said nonchalantly as he threw something to Martin which he caught without hesitation.

"The Emperor's Seal." Blurted out Martin with an astonished expression on his face after seeing the object in his hand.

At the same time, his poor hand couldn't help but tremble violently as he held the Emperor's Seal in his hand. Seeing this seal was no different than seeing the Emperor himself as it represented his Will.
