1 Prologue

During a snowy eve, families usually cuddle with each other by the fire, spending a happy time together. Winter is meant to be a beautiful time of the year, but for Earl Rowle, not so much.

He took a deep breath before kicking the ballroom door opened, where the music was coming from.

"Ah, the husband returns." The creature (Earl didn't think he was fit to be called a man) said to him. He had a sadistic smile on his lips.

"Give me back my wife, you demon." Earl said through gritted teeth.

"She's chosen, hasn't she? She chose me, and not you. I thought you would've known that by now."

Earl found it useless to converse with whatever he was talking to. Instead, he turned to his wife. "Amelia, listen to me. That man is a monster!"

Amelia looked at him with an unfamiliar smirk. Earl found himself walking backwards as she walked towards him with a newly found confidence. "Then think of me as a woman in love with a monster."

"This isn't love..." Earl muttered as Amelia brought her face closer to his. "You're under his trance..."

"'Under his trance'?" Amelia asked. Suddenly, she began laughing. But not in a way she used to. She was laughing maniacally.

"What have you done to her, you demon?" Earl asked as she went back to that rotten, wicked creature. It didn't answer.

Overwhelmed with anger, Earl charged towards him with a knife in hand. The creature faced him, ready to accept the dagger. Earl successfully planted it on his chest.

"Do you really think you could end me with a stupid dagger? I-" Suddenly, it stopped talking. He then looked at the dagger on his chest. "What have you done?"

"It's not an ordinary dagger." Earl smirked. "It's made of steel that has the ability to lock you in forever!" He exclaimed before taking out an open locket and placed it in front of the demon's face.

At that same moment, the demon switched bodies, transferring Amelia's soul to its previous body. In result, Amelia ended up being the one sucked into the locket. Earl tried to close it to prevent Amelia from entering, but he failed.

The demon, who was now inhabiting Amelia's body, smirked as Earl dropped the locket in shock. His hands began to shake as he had realized what he had done.

"You failed, Rowle." The demon said, before transforming into a raven and flying away.

From that night, Earl had done nothing but swear on his wife's soul, that he will kill that demon; whatever it takes.

I'll return you to hell, Lucifer.
