18 You Are Scum

Noil cursed the gorge relentlessly, "I swear if I make it out alive, the first thing I would do is destroy that stupid gorge."

Helkep hearing the bold claim thought, 'If you are so strong, than these monsters are idiots and if these idiots beat you...you are scum.'

If Noil had heard Helkep's thoughts, he would have banged his head against the ground and swore to kill every last one of the monsters.

"Well then kiddos, come, let this daddy give you a hug." It seemed as if the heat had went to Noil's mind.

'...I don't know this idiot.' Helkep took a step back wearily. As if he feared some weird germs would get on him.

"Sigh! Helkep wait here, I will go and...try them out." Yes indeed, a monster had come from behind Helkep causing him to come running right in the centre with Noil. So they both were stuck, surrounded by 8 monsters.

Seeing Helkep's nod, Noil sighed an walked forward.

«Ding! Skill 'Boosted Speed' has been activated, your speed has been enhanced for half a minute.»

Noil drew his dagger and went into full concentration.

'I will take the first one down, even if I die in the process... if not for it shouting like an idiot...Sigh!' Noil rushed towards the Seven Eyed Deformed Veil which had called all the others.

This time the Seven Eyed Deformed Veil took a step back seeing the hate in Noil's eyes.

"Grr!!" It let out a warning growl, though seeing the unwavering Noil it gulped nervously. And started brushing its foot against the ground. It was preparing to meet Noil head on.

"Humph! Come then." Noil 's eyes shined brightly. He was prepared to rumble...one last time.

«Ding! Skill 'Minor Strengthening' has been activated, your strength has been doubled for the duration of ten minutes.»

«Ding! Your mana is insufficient for anything, anymore. Your mana won't recover due to the required condition for 'Minor Strengthening' you need to wait 10 hours before your mana can recover.»

A grin appeared on Noil's face. The skill was a last ditch effort, he truly didn't believe there would be a day when he had to use it.

But nonetheless, the feeling of power coursing through his body was making him ecstatic. He wanted to experiment with his strength while he could.

Seeing the monster charging towards him, he formed a punch and waited for the monster to be in his range.

The other monsters weren't sitting like retards either, they had also started rushing towards Noil.

They had ignored the being which was standing still and had accepted his fate, they liked easy prey... Well, who wouldn't?

The being they thought had lost his will to fight was obviously Helkep.

As the monsters had started charging towards Noil later, this alone made sure that Noil would be granted his one-on-one showdown with the Seven Eyed Deformed Veil who was currently charging at him.

The monster charged towards Noil, not knowing it was going to regret it very soon.

If the monster, instead of charging blindly had retreated at the start, it might've been able to get out of this alive.

What was expected, happened as expected. When the monster was only a foot away from Noil, his hand which was already stretched backwards, came towards the monster's head with bustling momentum.

The result sent Noil flying in the air, though the monster was more pitiful, it's head had caved in, or more exactly the bones and the brain had been turned into mush, the powerful punch had destroyed through its defence and killed it.

«Ding! You have killed a monster, due to your contributions being the highest in your party, you have received 35 experience.»

Noil smiled wearily, looking at the 7 monsters stopping in their tracks.

"Atleast I have something to brag about...Sigh!" Noil once again went into a fighting stance and prepared to fight till the end.

'Sigh! He still had a lot to learn, he could have taken advantage of the fact that the monster's were stunned and killed another one.' Helkep could only sigh and shake his head.

The monsters shock didn't last long, soon they snapped out of it and roared in anger and maliciously stared at the one who killed their brethren.

"Come, I will take everyone of you down with me to the grave." Noil said with a grin, he had accepted his fate... and was prepared to fight it till his last breath.

The furious monsters started running towards him. Noil bent down a bit and waited for one of them to come close to him.

Fulfilling his wish a monster who possessed a tackle like skill used it to boost his speed and took the lead in confronting Noil.

Noil grinned and punched the monster right in its head, this dumb creature learned nothing from his dead friend and killed himself in its blind anger.

Noil ignored the notification or more accurately, he was forced to ignore it, as pain took over his senses.

Another monster who seemed to posses a speed increasing skill had used it to rush towards Noil and fiercely bang its head in him, hence Noil was currently flying in air.

"Ahh!" Noil didn't shout loudly and immediately prepared himself to counterattack but he wasn't given enough time to even prepare fully, a monster who had charged from his behind had sent him flying in the air again.

"You...Splat!" Noil was unable to complete his curse as blood came flowing like river from his mouth.

"Cough, Cough!" Noil wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and glared hatefully at the monsters.

Though the monsters were glaring at him in the same way, one of them once again sent him flying. This time he didn't even get to land before he was headbutted again.

The monsters started treating him like a football, not even letting him fall on the ground.

He had lost consciousness already and was fast-reaching the light of death.

'Sigh! I truly don't care if you die or I die, the problem is...you have saved my life, I never let a debt go un-repaid. So how do I do this? I can't take them all down alone, even giving my life won't be enough...Hey! Where is that stupid monster when I need him? If he was here...Sigh!' Helkep thought what the hidden boss was doing while he was here, wondering how to go and die.

"Well then, nothing is solving itself on-its-own. Lets try to do what we can, shall we." Helkep took out a...nail from his pocket, it was the nail of the first genius Seven Eyed Deformed Veil they had killed.

Noil had took it out and gave it to Helkep for self-defense, if by chance the need arised. Seems like it was going to be used to save him.

Helkep without wasting time started running towards the monsters, he was quiet. He jumped on a monster, causing it to turn back and look at the being who dared disrupt its fun.

Helkep held the nail tightly with the self-made hilt and aimed for the fin like ear. Before he reached the ear, a tail came right for his head, causing him to jump away.

A nearby monster had decided to help his ally. Helkep who had already gained the attention of all the monsters, ran backwards while looking straight ahead, he was looking at the monster, who had interrupted his kill.

As Helkep was running, he was also taking in the whole field around him. He sensed the falling Noil, and raised his hand, grabbing him mid-air, while he wasn't even looking at his back.

'Sigh! My senses have weakened, if it was the old me, these idiots would already be mincemeat.' Helkep took out a healing pill from Noil's pocket and fed it to him, the pill melted the moment it touched the tongue.

Having more important things to care off, Helkep spun to gain momentum and threw Noil away from the battle.

At the same time, a sharp spike like rock came towards his face, Helkep raised the nail to deflect it, the impact almost sent the nail out of his hand.

'Tch! Better avoid that from now on.' Making a quick note to not do that again, he jumped on the tail that was coming toward him.

He used the tail to gain more ground and jumped towards the nearest monster. Once again a rock spike came towards him, while he was in the air, and two tails followed suit.

Helkep shifted as much as he could to dodge the spike but it still grazed his face, leaving a deep wound.

Helkep took out a healing pill and swallowed it, he was going to take one tail to avoid the other, he couldn't do anything else in the situation.

Splat! The tail left a wound, and blood flowed out like water from it, Helkep ignored the pain, the pills that Noil had were of the highest quality, besides Helkep himself had an artifact and a very good one as well. His wounds had already started to heal.

Helkep tightly grabbed the nail in his hand, and struck the monster, who was conjuring another spike, on the ear.

The monster died...no where close. If Helkep could kill monsters so easily then why was he a loser? If killing monster was so easy, than why was Helkep who could fight 6 monsters all alone, be considered a loser? The answer was...stats, Helkep's stats were far lower than the monster's.

Helkep was merely a level 7 and the monster level 15 or higher, how could Helkep defeat a monster that was 8 or more levels higher then him? The attack that Helkep had did, only left a one centimeter deep scratch.

As Helkep got shaken off by the monster, he retreated backwards and prepared to attack once again. As he was looking for an opening, he felt a deathly feeling coming from behind him, lookig back he saw...a fireball coming towards him.

He immediately jumped sideways, while he was in the air...a tail banged him once again in the fireball's path.

Helkep looked blankly as the fireball came for him, he sighed and wondered if Noil would make it out alive or not.

He looked at the monster who had sent him in the fireball's path and could only shake his head, after shaking his head, he was dumbfounded for a while.

The monster he was looking at...was...missing its head. Noil was stupefied and soon a blur passed in front of his eyes.

He looked sideways and once again the sight of a headless monster came into view.

He looked around him and...all the monsters had lost their heads.

Suddenly he felt as if the heat and increased. He looked back and saw the fireball right behind of him, what caught his attention even more was the pungent smell of something being burned, he looked down and saw his shirt caught on fire.

As Helkep fell down on his buttocks, the expected burning sensation didn't happen, instead a shadow covered him.

He looked up and saw...the fireball being blown away by a back- handed punch from, a being with white hair falling on his face covering his eyes, but the wide red pupils could still be seen, staring at him, the two majestic black horns stood tall on the head.

It was...the hidden boss.
