The Humans Entrance

The forest seemed to buzz with activity as I woke up, quite literally with my new way of hearing. After a few moments of momentary confusion as I had just woken up, I realize that i'm still digesting the mouse from the other night. A feeling of lethargy wipes over me as I slowly rest back to sleep. A few more days of repeat sleep seemed to do the charm as I can now move without issue do to the amount of food in my stomach.

I slowly go outside carefully keeping low into the foliage of the thick grass of the forest, and slowly see that even though a peculiar buzz intrudes my ears there doesn't seem to be any noticeable creatures around. After moving around for awhile I slowly find myself looking at a creature quite similar to me but cold dead and un-moving. I look at the familiar brother that I had seen back at the nest in which I had been reincarnated into and see a deep incision inside its body near its head but the strange thing is, is that there seemed to be no blood on the body nor inside for a matter of fact.

The body was devoid of blood and sat there lifelessly. A feeling of sadness arose within me, though I didn't really know the poor snake lad hes still a snake after all. This feeling of sadness quickly turned into fear as The second body was found. A few moments after I found another brother devoid of all blood I realized the forest seemed suspiciously silent as the buzzing seemed to stop all together.

<System advises host to accomplish task soon, good luck>

The eerie systems emergency mission sent a shiver down my scales. The den I had was about thirty minutes away from here and even if I could use dash the entire way there I couldn't make it in time for the mission completion.

A feeling of terror overtakes me as I see an overwhelming Red blur In the distance with my infrared vision. With this newfound understanding of what fear truly feels like I dash to the nearest tree and quickly use my stealth skill. The Huge shape slowly gets more in focus as it approaches my vision. The man was insanely large with a barreling chest ripped with muscles and a knife drawn with a flask at his hip stained with what I would assume to be blood even though I don't have great eyesight. His eyes dart menacing among the grass around the forest searching for something.

A few moments later an ominous feeling over took me as I slowly hugged the nearby tree, he slowly approached my position searching slowly. I could feel my heart pounding as this freakishly big giant moved towards me, he slowly inched forward and looked around one last time. The man harrumphed and moved on in the forest, seemingly had missed me.

A few moments passed and more people of similar stature passed by but I remained still and hidden from them. I hid so much that even my Stealth skill leveled up.

<Stealth Skill has officially leveled up to LV: 2>

The level up greatly eased my mind as I seemed to fade into the surrounding grass.

Two man walked up nearby and I could tell that they were talking and one of them looked rather angry. Though I couldn't understand what was being said I could certainly get the gist of the situation. The man angrily held the flask of serpents blood while making obscene gesture to the man I had first seen in the forest, he seemed to be angry about the amount of serpents blood inside. I kinda felt bad for the guy because of the heavy scolding but still if he wasn't being yelled at then it would have probably been do to my blood going in that half filled flask.

After what seemed like forever the group around me slowly left the surrounding forest and the natural sounds of the forest slowly returned. A few more minutes passed before a startling sound comforted me.

<Mission accomplished Awards have been received please view character status to see update>

Even though my life was at stake adrenaline pumped through me as I saw the reward, the endurance was something useful, even though I hadn't gotten to test it out, made me feel more energized and overall invigorated. I quickly opened up my status.

A feeling of pure relief flooded me as I saw the new stats, with four more AP I could upgrade Agility to 7 preventing any issues about running away in the future for the time being. Speed would have saved me immensely and I wish I would have grabbed it earlier. I quickly opened up the evolution store after the new level ups.

<Evolution Menu>

Climbing LV:1 / cost 1

Tough Scales LV:1 / cost 1

Sharpened Teeth LV:1 / cost 1

Improved Venom LV:1 / cost 2

Evasive Movement LV:1 / cost 2

Recurved teeth LV:1 / cost 2

Skin Shed LV:1 / cost 3

Vicious Bite LV:1 / cost 3

Tunneling LV:1 / cost 5

I slowly sifted through the newly skills and came to a realization. The skills unlocked in the system seemed to have to deal with the previous unlock, for instance after I unlocked the Iron Jaw skill, 3 new skills seemed to have been added based on the previous skill but with varying elements of improvement, and after I got dash the same thing happened. I looked through the list and slowly chose to gain climbing and sharpened teeth skills, because for the meantime I need a variety of abilities quickly, for instance climbing would have been very useful in the previous situation, and sharpened teeth will just be an overall upgrade for when I need to actually hunt.

Sharpened Teeth: LV 1-

This ability allows the user to passively increase the damage a bite based skill does by a small amount, by leveling up this skill you will be able to increase this passive damage boost.

Climbing: LV 1-

This ability allows the user to climb, it costs 5 stamina to climb for every minute spent climbing. By leveling up this skill you can decrease the stamina cost and increase speed of climbing.

Alex slowly let out a sigh of relief as he reviewed his new stats. last two levels have been enough to put me at ease for now in my abilities to survive. If I run into anymore humans I should be able to escape and hide easily.

Quest Rewards: 100 EXP for each 5% of the forest found, hidden rewards will be unlocked at the following accomplishment rates: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.

Quest punishments on failure: -500 EXP

Oh boy that's a lot of stuff to do. It seems that each of the quest has varying difficulties and rewards, with higher Risk comes higher Rewards! Alex looked intently at the risk and with a few moments of thought Accepted the hardest and harshest punishment there was, *Exploration*. The rewards where mouth watering. Though the punishment was very harsh I believe with this increased Agility and Constitution it wouldn't me hard to get at least 5% of the forest surveyed, if not more.

<Mission has been accepted, please complete as quickly as possible. good luck>

Alex slowly slithered to his dark damp hole before falling asleep, the day had been filled with Mischief but Alex was sure more was to come.

I think I figured out a stable writing schedule. So even though I said there might be a few days without chapters, I think I can do at least one a day from here on out, though my release times will be a little unstable until next week. Hope you enjoyed, sorry for any grammar mistakes. Please give me any advice if you find my writing is a little crude. Have a nice day.
