4 town sights

After dozing off for a little while, the two girls got up. Taking one last look at the scenery, Sophie took a deep breath. [If only I could capture this moment and put it in a little bottle. I would be the happiest girl alive].

"I saw a little village in the hills over there. We should go before the sun sets." Sophie said.

"You're right. It's going to be dark pretty soon, Sophie." Lucy replied.

Saying on last mental goodbye to the beautiful fields and trees, the two girls swung their bags behind their backs and took off to the village ahead.

"Okay, I was not expecting it to be kind of long but wow...that was really long." Sophie huffed out, taking multiple breaths.

After half an hour of walking, Sophie and Lucy had reached their destination. Although 30 minutes wasn't that long of a walk, it was to Sophie who barely did any exercise. [At least it's good for me? Except I'm dying].

"Sophie stop complaining." Lucy gave her a poker face. Her best friend had always been like this. Sharp, quick-witted and a no-nonsense kind of gal. Albeit, mostly introverted and kept to herself, when pushed gave the best responses. Not to mention they shared the same humour, the main reason they were best friends.

Sophie turned to face Lucy. Lucy's appearance seemed to be exactly the same as back on Earth. Her hair was the typical straight Asian black hair but cropped at the chin, with soft bangs. Her skin was almost deathly pale with soft pink lips with sharp cheekbones. Lucy reminded her of the pretty tsundere character in the animes she watched, super chic and cold, but fluffy and warm on the inside. Lucy was also slightly shorter at her at 160cm compared to Sophie's 165cm height. But Lucy exuded chicness and elegance which made up for her slight-shorter than average height. In short, Lucy was awesome and Sophie was grateful to have her as her friend.

The sound of children laughing perked Sophie's gaze. Sophie was so tired she had totally forgotten to feast her eyes on the cute village! It was more of a small town, with the appearance typical of fantasy game. There was a town hall in the middle with a large clock tower and a water fountain at the front. Rows of houses with earth-coloured roofs lined the town, with little boutique clothing shops and services. A group of small children were playing with a ball on the street. There was an old lady selling flowers, chatting to a fellow old man. The pathways were made of grey cobblestones and she could smell fresh bread being baked. At the end of the street on the right was a sign that read 'Town Inn', and she could see what looked like other travellers coming in and out, wearing all sorts of weapons.

"My god Lucy, this is the best!" Clenching her fists, Sophie's eyes sparkled, resembling those overly-excited anime characters.

"Yeah." Lucy shortly replied.

Sophie suddenly grabbed Lucy's hands.

"Lucy, frankly I don't care if this is real or not but this is the best thing that's ever happened to us. Let's stay at the inn first, and then we'll buy a cute cottage house and a few hens plus an orange cat. Then we can bake, sleep and eat our hearts away!" Sophie's face was beaming.

"Okay. Let's do that." Lucy smiled.

"Excuse me pretty Missus, but are you two lost?" A small voice peeped.

The two girls turned around. Behind them was a small boy, roughly the age of 10. His blonde hair was ruffled and his face was smudged in bits of brown as if he had been playing in the dirt. [He looks just like a paperboy?]

"Umm yes, I suppose so little one." Sophie awkwardly replied and gave a look at Lucy. Lucy quickly understood. [We're not lost but let's see what this kid wants. Let's hope he's a good person, they both thought.]

"That's okay! You two Missus must be new! We don't get many travellers but some still come down to our small town, so us kids can tell who's new and not. Pretty Miss! Since you're new to Fairy Meadow you gotta register with the town guild first! I can show you the way!" The small child excitedly said, beaming with every word.

Sophie chuckled.

"Okay little one, only if you tell us what your name is okay?"

"The name's Arthur! Pretty Miss let's go!" With that, Arthur grabbed both Sophie and Lucy's hand and guided them to the town Guild.
