9 town hall

Once leaving their shopping bags in their Guild room, Sophie and Lucy headed to the town hall. Following the cobblestone road, Sophie merrily hopped on the stones, with Lucy smiling behind. In the centre of Fairy Meadow was the town hall. The three-story building was made with yellow-red bricks and had a tall clock-tower at the very top. A staircase travelled to the entrance, that was on the second floor. There were large arched windows on the sides, pillars in the centre and large flagposts on the bottom of the stairs on either side. [Woah....this building looks so cool and majestic].

Holding hands, Sophie and Lucy climbed up the stairs and through the large arched, wooden doors and into the town hall. Inside, was even more majestic. The interior was part brown and yellow stone, with large pillars and looked impeccably clean with shiny floors. Once Sophie walked inside, there were another set of stairs that travelled down, and a pathway both left and right. There were some workers bustling around, but it was mostly quiet except for the clicking of shoes. Not knowing where to go, Sophie and Lucy walked down the stairs. Looking around, she saw a tall man in glasses behind what looked like a reception desk.

"Excuse me, Sir. My name is Sophie and this is my friend, Lucy. We both would like to purchase a house. The guild master, Kaine said this is where we should be?" Sophie nervously asked. The town hall was so quiet and it made it even worse.

"Yes. This is the correct place. Welcome to Fairy Meadow's town hall. My name is Rehan, I deal with administration duties. If you follow me, I will lead you to our Housing councillor."

Giving a slight bow with a hand on his chest, he led the girls through several corridors. Whilst walking, Sophie could take a good look at him. His jet-black hair was neatly tied in a ribbon into a short ponytail. He wore a navy robe that fell to his knees, with a black shirt and ruffled ribbon tie. Black slacks and brown leather shoes completed the outfit. His gold-rimmed glasses gave him an air of elegance combined with his tall height. [He totally looks like the scholar type in all the otome games...].

Rehan then stopped at a door. Giving a gentle but firm knock, a bright voice called out "come in, Rehan!". Once inside, Rehan approached a young woman.

"Excuse me, Celine, but these two ladies wish to purchase some property. I'll leave the rest to you." Rehan said. Giving a small bow to the girls, he left, gently closing the door behind them.

"Hello! My name is Celine. I'm the Housing councillor of Fairy Meadow. It seems you'd like to buy a house?" Celine gave a bright smile. Her aura was the exact opposite of Rehan. She wore a white frilly blouse with a baby blue ribbon. In a matching blue layered skirt and white knee boots, she was the definition of "cute". [She...reminds me of the protagonist in every shoujo manga ever].

"Yes. I'm Sophie, this is Lucy. We want to buy a home here." Sophie answered.

"Well, that's amazing! Although our town may look small, we've been gaining a few residents lately. The more the merrier I say! Please take a seat."

Celine led them to two pastel blue velvet sofas. Once seated, Celine said on the opposite sofa to the girls.

"Tea? Water?" She asked.

"Water please," Sophie said. "Same," Lucy responded. Celine placed two glass cups of water in front of them.

"So, what I can do for you is I can show you a booklet that has photos of all the properties on offer, and you can either take it with you or you can decide now if you're in a hurry. Once you've made a decision, I'll take you on an inspection tour. If you're happy, you can choose to pay upfront or a deposit, and we can do all the paperwork at once. So that'll include the property titles, taxes and so on."

"Oh, that sounds lovely doesn't it, Lucy?" Sophie asked.

"Hmmm...yes it does. We can make a decision now and we can go inspect the houses tomorrow." Lucy said.

"That sounds fabulous! Give me one moment while I find the booklet."

A few seconds later, Celine handed them what looked like a magazine. [It's so strange but cool to see both fantasy and modern elements here in this world]. Flipping the pages inside, it had photographs of the exterior and interior, with text about the rooms, location and pricing. Every property varied from either very affordable to expensive, with a mixture of townhouses, apartments, cottages and farms. Sophie and Lucy picked three cottage houses, all with a decent amount of land so they can grow flowers and vegetables. The houses also weren't too far away, since they both didn't want to walk miles just to go into town.

"Lovely choices! I'll give you a tour tomorrow after breakfast. Does that sound alright?" Celine asked.

"Yes, it sounds just fine!" Sophie replied.

"Well, it was lovely to meet you both! You're going to be amazed tomorrow!"

Celine led the two girls back to the entrance. Saying a final cheerful goodbye, Sophie and Lucy left the town hall.
