3 lost together

"Lucy!?"

Lucy's eyes began to slowly open.

"Sophie…?" Lucy mumbled before rubbing her eyes. "What are you doing in my room?"

Lucy...I'm not in your room. We're outside." Sophie said, deadpanned.

"HUH? Okay, this is some weird-ass dream." Lucy slowly got up, sitting and whilst stretching like a satisfied cat.

"I don't think it's a dream though, I pinched myself and it hurts like hell!" Sophie replied.

Looking at the beautiful scenery once again, Sophie wondered whether it really was a dream or real life. She hoped it real though. Then she could go on mini adventures with Lucy, eat yummy food and pick flowers! She could finally do all the things she read in those online novels! Sophie was beaming in excitement. [Oh wait...the bag! What's in our bags?]

"Hey Lucy, I don't know whether its a dream or not, but maybe we should check what's in our bags first."

They both reached for their bulging leather bags. Undoing the knot and opening the flap, both girls curiously peeked inside. The contents revealed a water bottle, a worn journal and pen, a heavy bag filled with what looked like shiny gold coins…actually several bags of them. There was a set of pyjamas and day clothes. Hidden underneath that, was what seemed like a heavy ancient book. Sophie flipped through the pages, revealing all sorts of pentagrams and strange drawings. [This seems very suspicious...and magical? Am I a witch or something?] Finally at the bottom of the bag in a hidden section was a gold locket, in the shape of a half-heart with a ruby neatly placed inside.

"Okay...is it just me or does this seem sus as hell?" Sophie asked.

Lucy turned to her.

"Nope, this seems dodgy especially with the witch book and our matching lockets. But hey at least we're rich?"

"You're right at least we're balling, Lucy! Don't mean to be a capitalist, but I do love being rich."

They both laughed heartily, savouring the warm wind and smell of fresh flowers. All seemed to be good.

"Wait if this is real Lucy then that means we've actually transmigrated into another world! But the problem is unlike the stories we've read, we don't seem to have any recollection of who we are here. At least not me."

"No, I don't have any memories either Soph, just me on Earth. Well if there's one thing we've learnt from those stories we've read, its to not be stupid."

"Okay, so judging from the clothes we're wearing, what's in our bag and everything around us, it seems that we may or may not be witches? Or some sort of magical being. The world seems to be a magical fantasy world and our clothing indicates that we're in a medieval European era. But our dress length is high, which means that we can't be on Earth, since we probably would've been killed for wearing something this short."

"Not to mention we're insanely rich too! I think these are actual gold coins." Lucy replied.

"Okay, so I suppose best case scenario is that we're a pair of rich witches who are travelling the world kinda like Kiki's Delivery Service. Worst case scenario is that we're actually running from some unknown antagonist that wants to skin us alive to get either the locket or the cool book and we erased our memories so that they can't find us. I'm praying to God it's the first one."

"Agreed. Let's just go with the happy one because I don't got time to be running away from a killer. Let's just have fun and live the 'cottagecore aesthetic' Sophie." Lucy sighed.

"Yeah let's do that. It's a shame we don't have our phones or the Internet here. It would've been so great if we took some pics for Instagram. It's so beautiful. Not to mention I actually look pretty for once! I mean look at this dress, it's what dreams are made of." Sophie grabbed her dress and did a twirl, like a little girl excited for her first ballet class.

She did several twirls before feeling dizzy and falling down on the soft grass beside Lucy.

"Heehee, I'm so happy Lucy. Let's lie a bit before we get up. We probably need to find an inn to stay the night. Oh, we also have to buy a house!"

"Sure let's do that."

Sophie and Lucy laid next to each other, bathing in the warm sunlight and soft wind. Completely unaware of the adventures and dangers which laid ahead.
