10 house shopping pt. 1

The next day, Sophie got up bright and early. The sun was shining through the windows, and it was warmer than yesterday. Opening the windows, there was a slight breeze but the air was still warm. [Since it seems like it's going to be warmer, I'll wear my skirt today!]. Lucy seemed to also wake up earlier than usual, excited by the house tour. After the girls washed up, they wore the new clothes they bought the day before. Exchanging small talk with Alise, and ignoring Kaine's usual flirtations, Sophie and Lucy finished their breakfast and were off to meet with Celine.

As they approached the town hall, they saw Celine waving at them in front of a horse-drawn carriage. She was wearing a light blue dress with silver ribbons.

"Morning, Sophie and Lucy! Are you guys ready?" Celine said, cheerfully.

"We sure are!" Sophie chucked.

"Well let's get to it! Hop on aboard!"

Celine entered the carriage first, with Sophie and Lucy following behind. Surprisingly, although the exterior looked vintage and reminded Sophie of the Victorian era, the interior was quite modern. The seats were made of cool leather and the windows could be rolled down using a button. It was also quite spacious with a table and drinks on the side and the ride was smooth, with no bumps as Sophie would've expected. As they were riding, Celine gave them a short talk about the buildings and places they passed as the scenery changed. From the bustling town and a multitude of buildings, it changed to open fields with small cottages and lush trees. Finally, they came to a stop.

"Okay, guys! This is the first home we'll be stopping by. Just follow me out of here, the carriage can be stuffy at times..." Celine said.

Once outside, they saw a blue and white house surrounded by greenery. The dense trees have shade to the house and made it look quiet and serene. The left side was filled with windows, while the other had two doors for a garage. The house was on lower ground, and the girls had to walk a few steps down around the windows to enter a blue wooden door on the side.

"Welcome to number two, Pivot Drive. There are four rooms and two bathrooms, one upstairs and another below. Kitchen and dining are just on your left and the lounge rooms on your right where the large windows are! It's also got a storage room as you can see outside and an attic. But enough of me talking, why don't you two have a look around."

Stepping into the kitchen first, Sophie inspected the size and colour scheme. It was a cute farmhouse kitchen with a large sink and blue cues, but it felt a little cramped. On the other hand, the dining and lounge room had plenty of space and the windows gave great sunlight throughout the house. There was a small bathroom and a guest room beside it. As Sophie and Lucy climbed the stairs, Celine called out.

"Let me know when you're finished!"

"We'll do!" The girls shouted back.

Upstairs, there were three bedrooms, all roomy and a large bathroom with blue tiles. [I guess blues the overarching theme of this house...]. The trees gave plenty of shade and made the house cool throughout. After checking the storage and attic, they came back to Celine.

"It's a lovely house, but I don't think it's right for us. The kitchen's a bit small for me but everything else is fine." Sophie said.

In actuality, Sophie and Lucy didn't like how low the house was built and the dark vibes it gave out.

"That's fine! There's two more houses to go!" Celine said.
