30 Return

Connor received stares of awe from the group as he returned from the site of destruction.

"You can use magic of that caliber now?" Robert was sitting up on his own as he asked Connor incredulously.

"If I use a large portion of mana." Connor nodded.

"At least we won't have to fight as hard going back up to the Portal now." Mina pointed out in relief.

"I'm not taking stairs again." Connor and Robert replied unanimously.

"Then how do you to propose we go back up?" Mina asked haughtily.

*

The group stood under the chunk of concrete with the cable leading up to the third floor.

"I wish I hadn't asked." Mina stated as Connor hoisted her up and aimed her at the hanging debris, tossing her towards it lightly. She screamed, but successfully grabbed the concrete and began climbing up shakily.

"Well aren't you just a strong one." Robert chuckled nervously.

"My skill is higher than my Rank. Isn't that what you always say?" Connor commented.

"Touche good sir. Alright, give me a full send! Aim for the third floor!" Robert pointed up in excitement.

"You just want out of here as fast as you can get huh?" Connor questioned as he lifted the man up. Robert balanced on Connors hand with his feet and crouched.

"You have no idea." Robert replied.

"Then... as you wish!" Connor got a dangerous glint in his eyes and with half his power, added with Robert's own jumping force, launched Robert into the sky, aiming for the third floor. Robert shot passed Mina, causing wind to rock her on the line.

"Fucking watch it!" She cursed. Robert slowed just at the opening and landed on the ledge gracefully and walked in, his hands in his pockets for an extra cool look. His face was smug. Brian just flew up with Sarah in tow.

"Ah! But. I wanted to be touched by master too!" Sarah complained as the two flew up. Connor shivered slightly.

'I'm a Necromancer, not a necrophiliac! I'll need to ask Morta about this 'loyalty' and why it changes their personalities... or at least why it changed hers.'

Now it was just Connor and Ivory, whom was still on his shoulders, her head resting on his, looking where he was looking.

"We will wait until Mina reaches the top... Maybe I should have Brian take her up as well." Connor muttered, Brian, sensed this, flew down, grabbed Mina, who complained at first, but then just crossed her arms and allowed Brian to fly her up the remaining ten or so floors.

"Alright! Hold on tightly. I'm going full out!" Connor told Ivory, who tightened her grip. Connor crouched to the ground, tensed his muscles, and fully rocketed into the sky. The ground cracked from the force, and Connor shot passed the third floor, and landed on the roof.

Connor scanned the views. Overgrown vegetation claimed the once prosperous and now lost city they stood in. It was both a sad and beautiful sight.

*

The black dragon was hovering, not too far away, in his human form, watching the group as they left.

"Perhaps I should visit one of their cities again. I do enjoy their food." Noir commented as he flew off.

*

The group finally stepped through the Portal, Mina was still upset about Connor crashing through the roof right in front of her. He made her scream, embarrassing herself. Robert ran out of the room and made sure that they were, in fact, back in a civilized city.

"Thank the good Lord above! Listen!... People!" Robert laughed psychotically while holding his arms wide and leaning back, looking up with half his body.

"Look, you broke him." Mina pointed while looking at Connor.

"How is that my fault?" Connor inquired curiously.

"He started out so logically sound, and you, went and took that very logic, and shattered it." Mina explained.

"Is that right." Connor replied indifferently.

"Connor, your very existence is illogical." Mina pointed out.

"Thanks." Connor answered.

"That's not a... hah, whatever." Mina sighed.

"Ahem... Excuse my sudden outburst there. Connor, what are you going to do with... them?" Robert inquired about the biggest issue, the undead followers. The Brian now looked human, his clothes were ragged and filthy. Ivory was a noticeable Undead, no matter how you looked at her. Whereas Sarah was in between. Her iridescent yellow irises much like Ivory's, but her skin was normal, like Brian's.

Brian had undergone a change after his evolution. He now had long pink hair and bright lime green eyes that shone with mad knowledge. His age looked to be around nineteen, and his body was activly fit, his skin was still pale, but had a peach undertone. His facial features were sharp and handsome, the look in his eyes seemed cold and calculating. He looked very much alive.

"I'm sure I can let Sarah return to wherever she came from. Brian... well a change of clothes first. Secondly... I don't have anywhere for him to stay." Connor realized his problem.

"Yeah, and Ivory as well." Robert commented.

"What? Ivory stays with me. I'll fight anyone and everyone with a problem." Connor replied. Everyone looked at him oddly.

"I suppose you could convince authorities that she's harmless as a familiar?" Mina suggested.

"With his luck, it'll be after he fights someone about it." Robert shrugged, he was just gonna wash his hands free from it.

"Its the fastest way." Connor responded with a nod.

"Again, that wasn't a.... hah, why do I still bother?" Mina sighed and fell backwards onto the bed.

"Brian, I'm going to have to trouble you to take all but your pants off. I'll take you to the nearest clothes store. Connor, you're gonna pay though... You might as well get some clothes for yourself and Ivory as well." Robert gave up and ushered the trio to follow.

"I'll stay here! I'm exhausted." Mina called out weakly.

"Sarah... guard." Connor commanded.

"Ahn! An order from Master! I will do my utmost to fulfill my task!" Sarah moaned. Connor shuddered.

'I need to get as far away from this one as possible!... Morta!'
