1 Chapter 1

Have you ever wondered what is the lowest form of existence? It would be something of the lowest status and least likely to achieve in life.

Some would say insects but those started mutating over 500 years ago. Plants? Ha! Those are hanging us up like decorations now. A slave?

What is the real meaning of that term; slaves are revolting disobedient, attacking their masters, or even in rare cases becoming powerful mages.

So the lowest form of existence would be someone without fighting capabilities, no noble status, no knowledge, no money, no family having nothing, That would be me.

My name is Daybian Miles and I am a healer. Well not just any kind of healer, I am a healer that takes more than 100 times longer to heal. Yeah, am the weakling, not worth the time, the slow little waste of space. Like a baby.

The baby was one of the nicknames I got when I started the school of healing. I have been an orphan for most of my life. My parents died before I even reached the age of two. I was captured by some random villagers, then taken to the orphanage. At the age of 10, I was taken to this school.

Every school in Augustria had a tester which would show how well you were suited for an element or class.

Blue meant properly suited.

Yellow meant averagely suited.

Red meant poorly suited

Two other rare colors could be obtained from the tester; those were orange and green. Green meant that the person was absolutely perfect for the element/class and would develop very quickly. Orange meant that the person got a rare trait ( usually any class or element would have only one rare trait), the trait would be exceptional but very difficult to develop. A person that got yellow would develop much faster than a person that got orange.

On the day of registration for the school of healing (the school I currently attend). The owner of the orphanage and one of the famous nun accompanied me on the strenuous journey.

You never know where a monster may appear, although sometimes they are walking with us.

Could you walk any faster the horse is getting tired? (Nun) Your body is weighing down the horse. (Daybian) What did you just say, boy? ( Nun) I said that my body is weighing down my legs. (daybian) Hmmph should have fed you less. (Nun)

This nun is always showing off on persons because she is favored by Priest(that is the name we call the owner of the orphanage.)

The school of healing wasn't that far away from Seapoint village but because of the Nun's constant complaints, it seems longer.

We have finally reached(Priest). It is about time(Nun). Daybian I hope you are ready(priest) Yes sir! ( Daybian) You better do your best because I do not have enough money to pay another registration fee. (Priest)

(you mean that you are not willing to pay another. Ha, and you call your self a saint. )

As we walked to the gate the guard stops us.

It seems that you are here to register this young man (guard). Yes, could you please direct us. (priest). No problem, although you are a little late. (guard), are there a lot of persons registering? (priest) No, not really. Oh madam you are not allowed in here with that horse. (guard) Why!. (nun) does this place look like a damm Knight school? Tie it outside the gate. No animals allowed! (guard)

I guess you should turn back Daybian. (nun) That is no way to talk to a future healer no matter what his status is. Am I right young man? (guard) I simply nodded.

as the guard followed us to the reception office another guard went to take his post.

This is as far as I go. The nice lady will give you the rest of the instructions. (guard) Come on Daybian we are wasting daylight. (priest).

we quickly walked to the front desk. the lady wasn't all that nice-looking but was still better than any of the nuns at the orphanage.

hello family are young here to register this young man (Receptionist) Yes we are but we are not a family. (nun) ok I see, No problem, ok o its very simply process. Iam position here to give you the details. So the child will be tested and only if he gets red he will not be admitted. Are you ok with the terms and conditions. (receptionist) Well yes but could you go into some more details. (nun)

Ok well the child may be shifted around to other healing schools to see if he can progress more we would, not want to hinder him here but that is only if he does not get red that is.

And also you will never see him again until he graduates. Now that should be clear enough, so please can you pay the ten slivers admittance fee. (receptionist) TEN SLIVERS! (Pastor)

damm cheapskate! The Priest earns 50 gold coins a month. 10 slivers doesn't even scratch his savings.

yes and if you can't pay it get out! (receptionist) It's ok I have it. (pastor)

priest pays the ten slivers as reluctantly as possible.

now follow that attendant.(receptionist)

the attendant indicated with her hand to follow her. as we left I heard the receptionist saying '' what kind of man doesn't have 10 slivers to spare. "
