84 Who?

I grit my teeth and yell out as I strain to control it all but Thane is right there with me. His leg continues to bleed out as he sends out lightning to everything around us. I want to heal his leg but I don't know if I can and now's not the time to test it.

A cannon is fired again and it hits the side of the tornado but it gets thrown away. My tornado starts to lose strength and wobble but I refuse to stop. It's the only thing keeping us safe right now! More, I need it to be stronger!

I close my eyes and focus on the tornado and smile when I feel it growing stronger. Suddenly, loud explosions rock the whole building as yells and screams can be heard. I thought they were attacking us again but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Is someone... is someone helping us? I weaken the tornado just a little and see men in solid black military suits with full helmets on. They're shooting at Thane's father and his men... They're helping us? Or are they just trying to get us too? Like two wolves fighting over the kill...

When I see these men in black using powers to attack the other men, I quickly realize they're different. The relief I feel nearly has me passing out. I drop the tornado and pant in Thane's arms. Thane's father yells "NOW!" and I watch in horror when the remaining men turn on us.

Thane quickly places me behind him before turning to face the oncoming men. He rips into them with a monstrous roar, causing some of the men to hesitate. Thane's father yells out "He's hurt! Get them while they're weak!"

A man tries to sneak up behind me but CheeChee launches himself at the man and attaches himself to the guy's face! The man stumbles back as another comes for me. I try to stand but my legs give out. I lift my hand to send a blast of water straight at the man.

Suddenly, a man in all black steps up and cuts the guy in half with water! Blood splatters me in the face as the body spits in half. The man in black reaches down and tries to help me stand but when my legs fail me again, he pulls me forward and throws me over his shoulder.

Should I fight this guy or is he just helping!? CheeChee jumps onto my back as I see the other men in black fighting off the other men while helping Thane. The man holding me makes a weird whistle noise and I watch as the whole group moves together as one.

They help support Thane as they start retreating. The guy holding me takes off running and I'm left confused and kinda impressed. Not many people can run with a full-grown person and monkey on their shoulders.

I keep my eyes locked on Thane and see that he's not happy. What does he want me to do? Pull myself along the ground!? My legs won't work! I try to point to my legs and give him a look but he continues to glare at me and at the man carrying me.

If he could walk, I would let him carry me but he can barely keep up himself with that gunshot to the leg! I keep my mouth shut but glare back at him before trying to see where this guy was taking me. If I can just rest for a little bit, I'll be able to get Thane and I out of this.

A black van pulls up and screeches to a stop in front of us. I start to get nervous when the van door slides open and the guy tosses me in. They quickly pile into the van as Thane sits down next to me. He pulls me between his legs and wraps a protective arm around me as the men in black silently stare at us. The door slides shut as the van takes off with a squeal of tires.

Who the hell are these guys!? The van drives with speeds that turn my stomach but I don't say a word. When I feel us dip down and everything grows dark, I start to grow real uneasy. Suddenly we're going up again and the light is back.

A tunnel?

More silence but after a few more minutes, I start to look around at all the men. After resting for a bit, I can crush them all in this van if I need to. The van finally comes to a stop and all the men pile out. The one carrying me before reaches out for me but Thane quickly pulls me against his chest and sends out a low growl. CheeChee sits on Thane's shoulder and growls as well, not wanting anyone to take me.

The guy looks almost irritated as he steps back and jumps out of the van. Thane and I step out of the van and quickly realize that we're no longer in the City! They brought us out to the Void! When I turn back to the men, the one who carried me pulls off his helmet.

As soon as I see his eyes, my heart skips a beat. I shake of Thane's hand but he keeps trying to grab me and hold me back but as soon as I'm free, I'm running full speed at the guy. Thane calls out to me but I ignore him. All I can focus on is the guy in front of me.

The guy opens his arms wide for a hug, but instead of a hug, I tackle him. Everyone blinks in surprise as I start beating the crap out of him. His men look unsure of what to do but whenever someone steps forward to touch me, he quickly calls them off.

Thane and CheeChee watch me with wide eyes filled with confusion. I look down at Valen as angry tears roll down my face. He grabs my arms and pulls me against his chest as he says "I never meant to take so long... I'm sorry."

I cry like a big baby and still try to beat him but he doesn't let go. He holds me close and pats my back as everyone around us watches in confusion.
