16 Undercover

Titus is the first to clear his throat before saying "I... you make a really good... woman... right?" He asks patting the leading Officer on the back. The Officer coughs and says "Yes! This is great! We'll definitely be able to trick them with this look."

I sulk as I wobble over to the closest bench and sit down. Conner walks up and looks me over from head to toe before whistling and saying "You're a twin, right? Is your sister dating anyone?" Thane smacks Conner in the back of the head and says "Enough. This is serious." He then turns to me and asks "Are you going to be able to walk in those?"

I give him a strained smile and a thumbs up before saying "Yeah, sure. I got this." Thane looks me over with a blank face before slowly nodding his head. When the leading Officer and Titus announce that it's time to go, Thane holds his hand out to me.

I look to his hand before slapping it away and getting up on my own. I still haven't forgotten how he brought me to a damn playground like I'm some kind of kid! After a few ankle rolls, I finally manage to walk semi-normal.

After hooking me up with a wire, I go to the bathroom to strap it on. Once I'm done, I meet the others outside. Three cabs wait in the front as the Officer says "Valen and Thane will go alone while Conner and Troy go together. While in the club, act as if you don't know each other. Especially when it comes to Valen. I need these men to think that he's a lone female in the club, okay?"

We all nod and head to our designated cabs. Even the cab drivers were undercover cops so I didn't have too much to worry about on the way over to the club. Well, except for the fact that the guy driving wouldn't stop looking back at me and shaking his head.

It looked like he was deeply disturbed by how much of a woman I looked like dressed like this. If only he knew...

When he finally pulls up to the club, he looks back to me and says "If... if it gets too rough, just let us know and we'll send someone in after you." I blink at him in surprise before giving him a devious smirk and saying "Thanks but I think I'll be able to handle a few guys pawing at me."

The driver's face reddens as I slip out of the cab. I shut the door and walk up to the club entrance but when I see the line, I turn to line up. The bouncer at the door calls out to me and says "No line for you, sweetheart."

Thane and the others are walking up at that time so I can't help but flash the bouncer a wide smile and say "Oh, thank you handsome." I sway my hips as I walk over, acting like it's the most natural thing and as I pass the bouncer, I reach out and touch his chest with a knowing smile.

The bouncer practically purrs and leans into my touch but I turn and smirk at the guys before disappearing into the club. The looks on their faces are absolutely priceless!! Hah! Thane wasn't any fun though... he was just glaring at me.

As I walk into the busy club, I look up and see that it has two levels. A live DJ stands in front of a large dancing crowd but I ignore them all as I head to the bar on the first floor. I managed to walk in these things but dancing? Hah... I can't even dance without heels.

As I step up to the bar, a bartender walks over and asks "First time here at the Red Lounge?" I give him a shy smile and nod my head as I look around and say "I didn't realize it was so big! I should have come sooner."

The guy smiles at me and says "What would you like? The first drink is on the house." I raise my eyebrows in surprise before leaning over a little and saying "To be honest, I just got here and I'm a lightweight. Can you make me a drink that looks like it has alcohol in it?"

The bartender throws his head back in laughter before saying "I've got you beautiful. Don't worry, I'll make you something good." I give him a large smile and say "Thanks, I owe you one." As he starts making my drink, I look around the bar to see that Thane had already gotten in.

How the hell did he do that? I look around for Conner and Troy but Thane's deep voice comes over the earpiece as he says "They're still waiting in line. Were you flirting with the bartender?" I smirk and lean against the bar as I say "Maaaybe. He offered me a free drink so I didn't want to turn down his kind offer."

Thane sighs and says "Don't forget why we're here. This is serious!" I chuckle a little as I turn and thank the bartender. I take my cranberry juice and sprite with a smile and head over to the tables. As I sit at the table, I pretend to take a sip and look around the club.

I wasn't stupid enough to actually drink it. The bar is under investigation for women disappearing... It's not hard to put two and two together. A bar this big could have all kinds of people working here.

Thane continues to glare at me as I stir my drink and say "Stop glaring at me and look around for some clues." I hear Conner chuckling on the other end before Thane says "You shouldn't be drinking."

I roll my eyes and prop my chin up before looking around at the dance floor. Suddenly, a guy in a dark blue shirt walks up and asks "Is this seat taken, beautiful?" I look up to the guy and shyly smile before saying "Nope"
