4 Run

I quickly walk my tray over and drop it off before practically running away. I look behind me several times to see if I'm being followed but to my surprise, I'm not. As I haul ass down the hallways, I try and decide if I should just pack up and run.

Maybe my parents and I can all just run away and start a new life in a new city... When I come to the door, I hesitate with uncertainty. I shake my head at the absurdity. We wouldn't make it out in the Void and if we travel to a new city by normal means, we wouldn't make it out there all alone. We'd be easy picking...

I resign to my fate with a loud sigh and walk into the room. I think about going to take a shower but decide against it for now. I'll wait until everyone's asleep and slip in alone. If I go now... someone could walk in and discover me.

I try to mentally prepare myself for the beating I'll probably get but when Thane never comes back, I find myself relaxing a little. Maybe he's so pissed he won't come back to the dorm tonight. When one thirty in the morning comes rolling around, I grab my things and silently sneak out of the room.

I quickly check the halls for any signs of life but when I see nothing, I mentally cheer and take off for the showers. Even though it's super late, I still have to be careful so when I get to the showers, I don't even bother undressing at the lockers.

I take my clothes and everything with me to the showers and pause. I wait and listen but when I don't hear anything, I quickly scurry to the furthest shower, just in case. I get my things out and look around once more before quickly stripping down and stepping into the shower.

I power wash as if my life depends on it and in a way, it really does. As I scrub my hair, I mentally curse my stupid brother. As I rinse my hair out, I hear something! I quickly jerk my head out of the water and freeze, listening for sounds but when I hear two or more guys talking, I freak!

Don't they ever sleep!?! I quickly try to rinse the remaining shampoo out of my hair before turning off the water and hiding but of course, there's still soap in my hair and it's currently dripping down into my eyes.

I struggle to get my clothes on but when they become slightly wet, they become even harder to get on! I try to wipe the soap out of my eyes but it doesn't help! I can't see shit! When I hear them changing, my heart nearly goes into cardiac arrest, knowing they'll be heading this way soon!

I still can't even figure out how to put my shirt back on!! I lean my head back and squeeze my eyes shut, trying to get the soap out as I try to think of a plan but when I see something in my blurry vision, my heart skips a beat in hope.

A window! I listen closely and when I hear them still laughing and changing, I quickly pull over my shirt, not caring if it's on right or not before slipping on my underwear. I don't even know if they're on right or not but I'm past the point of caring!!

I throw the rest of my clothes up on the window seal and grab the ledge. I quickly pull myself up and unlatch the window. I quickly slide it open, still trying to see past the soap in my eyes as I try to see down below.

"What the hell!? Is that a pervert!?" I hear someone yell out behind me as I jump and slip. I tumble out of the window and brace myself for pain but the pain that I feel is not the pain that I expected!! My underwear catches on the window seal and gives me the worst wedgie of my life!! Men's underwear is so much thicker than women's underwear!!

I clamp my mouth shut to keep from crying out as I dangle from my underwear, wondering what I must have done in my past life to deserve this. Suddenly, I hear fabric tearing!! I feel a cool breeze on my lady bits before falling flat on my face!

I quickly scramble to my feet when I hear them trying to climb up to the window on the other side. I look up to find my underwear waving in the air like a flag of shame but it's too high up to grab. I hold the rest of my clothes tight against my chest and run for my life... butt hanging out in the night air for anyone passing by to see.

I haul ass but I still hear "I see him!! He's running!!" I kick it up another gear and run with everything I have. When I finally find a big bush, I jump behind it and get dressed. I'm nearly in tears when I finally make it back to the room but when I see that Thane still isn't here, I drag myself to the bathroom and decide to clean up in the sink.

I need to find another way to shower... maybe I'll just wash myself like this from now on. At least this has a door and I can say that I'm shaving and taking a poo. That's what my brother always said he was doing when he was in the bathroom for like an hour.

When I finally get all the soap and branches out of my hair, I finish washing up before falling into bed. I bury my face into my pillow and mumble "You're off to a great start, Val. You keep this up and you won't have to worry about going to jail... you'll be killed before you even get there."
