79 Hurry

I pull my hair up into a tight ponytail and strap on the rest of my gear before walking back out to the truck. Titus and Conner follow behind me with mixed emotions. CheeChee even wears a small black vest that Conner made just for him. If I get caught trying to sneak into the City, they'll kill me first and ask questions later.

As I climb into the back of the truck, Conner licks his lips with fear and asks "Are you sure about this?" I look to him and nod my head with a smile as I say "I have to." Conner returns my smile and says "You two better come back." My smile grows as I nod and say "Of course."

Conner and Titus ride up front in the truck while I remain in the back of the truck but right before we see the wall, Titus stops the truck and I jump down. My black military-style boots hit the dry dirt under me and it causes little puffs of dirt to fly up.

As I walk to the side of the truck, Titus makes eye contact with me through the mirror and nods. I nod back and start hooking myself up with the clamps. I put my goggles on my head and slip on my black mask. I then place little goggles on CheeChee and a little mask. I nod once more to Titus before dropping to all fours and rolling under the truck.

I take the metal hooks and start hooking myself up to the underside of the truck as CheeChee jumps up and holds onto me. Once done, I pull my blade out and use the blunt end to tap the truck three times. The truck cranks back up and begins to move again.

I quickly slip the blade back and hold on. As the truck picks up speed, so does the dirt. I reach down and pull up my mask while pulling my goggles down. I tighten the hooks until I'm practically one with the truck and hope that no one can see me while I try not to burn myself. CheeChee hangs from my legs and looks like he's enjoying himself.

When we finally reach the City gates, Titus slows the truck down to a crawl before coming to a complete stop. Guards walk over to both sides of the truck while making small talk with Titus and Conner. CheeChee moves over and climbs up to my stomach and flattens himself against me.

I watch as one of the guards walk to the back of the truck, looking to see if there's anyone else before walking back over to the other guard. I use my power to quickly break down all the hooks at the same time while quickly opening the ground up under me.

I soundlessly fall into the ground while quickly forming all the metal hooks into metal balls and slipping them into my bag. CheeChee holds on without a sound as I quickly begin tunneling under the ground. I move as quickly as possible, knowing that when the truck is loaded and ready to move, I'll have to close the hole and lose all sources of oxygen.

I focus on the dirt around me and all the metal in the ground. I head straight for the wall before passing under it and all the sensors they placed for people just like me but they only go so far down and they don't cover every inch.

Because I can sense the metal, I easily avoid them. As I finally make it to the other side of the wall, I start to look for an area I can emerge from without being seen. When I find an empty car lot, I head straight for it while quickly closing the tunnel behind me.

As the tunnel finally closes, the thin air was now nonexistent. I push myself as I try to ignore the burning in my lungs. Once I make it to the car lot, I slow down and lightly break through the concrete. It easily gives way and allows me to effortlessly crawl out and close it back up.

As I stand up and look around, I brush all the dirt off me while CheeChee shakes like a little dog. I pull my goggles off and slip my mask down. As I start walking, I use my powers to take all the dirt off so we don't stand out.

As soon as I make it to the busy street, I effortlessly blend in and start walking towards the Military buildings. A few people turn to look at me when they see CheeChee but they don't say anything or stop me. When coming to the crosswalk right in front of the building, I come to a stop and wait for the light to turn green.

People talk on their phones or they're playing/texting but they don't seem to notice anything out of the norm. When the light turns green, I walk across the street and head straight for the large Military and government building.

If Thane isn't here... I don't know where else to look. This is the only place that could hold him. As I walk through the front doors, I see the very man that claims to be Thane's father. He walks with his head held high, like the rest of the world is beneath him.

Several guards and high officials walk with him in a uniform manner, heading straight to me. As I walk up to them, I keep my eyes forward and use my powers to snap the metal clip holding his ID pass. I maneuver it through the legs of the others and right into my hand as I pass them.

They continue chatting and don't notice a thing. I tap CheeChee and he quickly climbs to my back, acting as if he's a bag. As I approach the security gates, I lift the pass and watch when the little red light turns green and the glass slides open.

I keep walking and head straight past the elevators and right to the stairs. Titus told me they don't have cameras on the stairs so I can move around more freely. CheeChee moves back to my shoulders as I start heading down.

Titus said that if they were holding Thane here, it would be down in the lower levels where the security is higher. I quickly take the stairs without a sound, blowing the lightbulbs as I go. I don't shatter them or anything, just enough to burn them out and make it dark.

When it's dark, I have the advantage.
