137 Between The Veil

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING CHAPTER IS VIOLENT AND BLOODY WITH DISTURBING SCENES. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

I run after them screaming "Don't go over there! Come back!" but it's no use. They can't hear or see me. When I round the corner, I'm met with the same scene my brain worked so hard to erase. Suddenly, I become the childlike version of me and all that's left is me and this beast. 

It was just like me... a beast from that other world. Valen tries to attack using his powers but the man backhands him so hard, he flies back several feet before hitting a tree and passing out. I cry out, trying to attack as well but the beast lunges at me and grabs me! 

I try to scream and cry out but his hand around my throat is too tight! I kick and scream with all my might, trying to break free as he runs at speeds that I've never seen at this age. Once far enough away, he finally releases me by throwing me down on the ground.
