9 Chapter 9: Legacy continues

" It's been 5 years now, I graduated long ago and got a good job in a company. I just got promoted to post as HR manager of the company.I have bought a home where Me, mom and Vishal lives together. My mom sold the restaurant business and now takes care of the new bought house."

"though sun has set but it's shining it's shine somewhere else. My love for you will ever shine even if you forget me"(Mobile rings)

Rahul picks up the call.

"Hello, puru !How are you? "

"Hi! Rahul, Iam doing great and I hope you too."

"Yepp, Iam doing great. So any fresh to hear."

"Yes! Hold your heart and be ready to hear a shocking news"

"Let me guess? You got promoted by your father."

"Ohh! come on Rahul, don't be kidding . I have more shocking than this."

"Now you are sensible,Go ahead let me hear what's the shocking news."

"The news is Our friend Sapna is getting married."

"Whattt!!!! Seriously? Sapna getting married."

"Yes! "

"When is her marriage?"

"next week "

"Next week ? it's too fast, I need to prepare a gift for her."

"Yepp, I am prepared."

Rahul recieves a message in his mobile. He tells puru that he has urgent thing to attend and cuts the call. Rahul sees the message which stated that new CEO of the company is arriving today and as the HR director is out of country HR manager had to pick the CEO from the airport.

It was 7 in the morning and he had to reach the airport by8. So he took his breakfast and rushed to the company. From their he took official car and travelled to airport. Rahul reached airport by 8 in the morning. Plane hadn't arrived yet so he was sitting in the waiting lounge.Plane arrived at 9am, Rahul was standing at the VIP gate. After a huge crowd rushes out, he sees a man with fair skin, bluish eyes, pinkish lips wearing half track pants and t shirt with goggles on his head. There was a small black earing in his ears. The shoe whose worth couldn't be determined as it seems to be expensive and a wrist watch which was limited edition. Rahul after getting a glance ignored him and starts looking for the CEO. The person comes to Rahul and speaks.

"Did you lost your vision?"

"No. But I did after looking at your face."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean just do your business Na, Why meddling with me for No reasons."

"Ohh my business. My business is the name placard you are holding is ME."

"What! So you are the CEO of our company."

"Yes! Iam. And be searching for new jobs."

"I am really sir, But I didn't identify you. I thought you would be in formals and business etiquette."

"So you thought , I don't want you to just think. Be fast get the luggage."

"Yes sir! I will ask the driver to get it."

" I asked you to get the luggage not the driver. Go get it fast."

"Okay sir ! "

Rahul goes to the luggage counter waiting for the luggage. He was also scolding the new CEO in his mind. Later after receiving the luggage he goes to the parking lot and wanted to sit in the back seat. But he was again harrassed by the guy and was forced to sit in the front seat. Later they reached a 7 star hotel in which room was already booked by the company. New CEO and Rahul reached the room and asks CEO to take rest. When Rahul was about to leave CEO asks him to send the sales details of the past 5 years of the company. Rahul agrees and says that he would said the details by evening and leaves the hotel. In the evening Rahul sends all details about companies turnover and sales of past 5 years to new CEO's mail.

Next day when Rahul reached his cabin he was asked to meet the CEO immediately. Rahul knocks the door and enters the CEO cabin. He sees the same guy in business etiquette. Rahul smiles as if he had fallen for him. He was looking extraordinary handsome and beautiful.

"help yourself" Rahul enters the cabin.

"Good morning sir. How am I useful to you? "

"You are useless. The companies employee turnover is high can you explain about it? Don't you think this is a great shrinkage to the company."

"That's the turnover of the last 3 years sir.. I am just promoted to this post, so I have only brief idea about the turnover."

"Don't talk shit here, just give the solution to this problem. How will you compensate this loss to the company?"

"Sir .. Last year the company suffered a huge loss due to some quality issue in the manufacturing department which was rejected by the customer. As a result the companies liabilities increased and also became financially instable."

"Then.....?!"

" As the company was in crisis, salary to employees were not paid properly and this is the reason for high turnover in the last year."

"And as a HR what action did you take to overcome this crisis?"

"Sir ! We asked the former CEO to pool in more investment from the investors, but instead he quit and left us all alone."

" Then who lead the company till I joined the company as your New CEO."

"HR director assigned tasks to conduct events to pool in more and more investment from outside source. It took almost 3 months to pool in investment to company and continued with the manufacturing again."

"How about the workforce? Cause as I see only 30 percent of the employees are in the company."

" Sir ... We asked remaining employees to increase their productivity and also extra payment was given to them accordingly."

"Don't you think employees were annihilated by over burden of work?"

"I don't think so sir, Because we received feedback from the employees which was positive."

"How about manufacturing? I heard that there was mistake in manufacturing few months ago?"

" Yes sir! We made a mistake while manufacturing the product, but it was launched in the market as new product."

" New product??! A defective product was released into the market as new product? Don't you know the consequences ?"

" I knew sir , that's the reason it was just an trial and error strategy. We released only a part of product into the market that to in a confined segment."

" So what was the results of this strategy? Success or failure ?"

" Sir it was a grand success. As per the feedbacks received from the consumers we were happy as they liked this new product and also increased the demand in the market. It was just we were lucky."

"Okay good. Indeed you are intelligent, so you can leave now."

"I am flattered sir. Then please excuse me."

Rahul turns and starts moving towards the door when suddenly he felt that someone called him. He turned back again and asked if the CEO had called him. But he denied. Rahul turns back and comes back to his cabin.

In the evening Rahul was in his house sitting and working on the laptop. Rahul recieves a call from an unknown number, he picks up when suddenly mom enters the room with a photo of a girl.

"Rahul ....Rahul.... See I have got a perfect girl for you."

"Maa ... Iam working, somebody is on the phone."

"Come on Rahul see she is pretty and also she has a good job earning handsome salary. You two will be a good couple."

"Maa.. I don't want to get married yet."

"but why?? You are already 26, all your friends got married even sapna is getting married next week. How about you?"

"Maa... I don't want to get married yet. Cause still I need to look after you."

" You don't have to worry about us. Vishal is their he will look after us,You just get married my son. I can't wait to become grandmother."

" Maa....We will talk about it later. Iam working now (Rahul feels a bit shy)

Mom leaves the room and Rahul continues with his work. He answers the phone back but didnt get any reply on other side.Rahul thinks about the Sapna's wedding gift which was next week.
