Her was was calm but she could imagine the heartbeats of the other people, she could almost feel it through the floor. Her face was positioned towards them and she noticed two of the three people were copying her, face on the floor, looking anywhere but at their assailant.

"Alright, people. Listen up," the masked man growled down at them. "Hand over your purses, wallets, jewelry, and anything valuable."

She was in a condition where she didn't have to hand over her money. But her backpack might be stolen yet again. Begrudgingly she reached into her pant pocket and pulled out a pitiful amount of money she had made on the street that day. The man snatched it from Anna, staring down at the pathetic wad in a disbelieving stare. Her neighbors shoved expensive-looking watches, earrings, and designer purses towards the man, but he never looked down. His stare went from the cash in his hand to Anna's eyes.
