8 Blades and Claws

When Jason saw this message he felt his body breakout into a cold sweat. The idea that a monster was now on its way to try and kill him was nerve racking. "I would recommend going out to face him and lure him away from your family." The AI offered this advice in a normal tone but Jason thought he detected a little of worry in the AIs voice. "A level 2 Goblin will be a tough battle for you. A normal werewolf would easily beat almost any kind of goblin with relative ease. However you at your current strength will struggle considerably. Keep on fighting no matter how badly you get injured because goblins are merciless so if you collapse you expect to never get up again."

After processing what the AI had set Jason decided to head its advice and so went outside and stood in classic boxer stance eyes peeled for any movement. He did not have to wait very long to spot the intruder. Glowing eyes shining malevolently in the darkness suddenly appeared from the corner of the yard. The eyes were about level with his height. Looking closer Jason could see a humanoid shape with a snarling face. Its skin was dark green but muscles rippled as it moved. A low growl came from the creature's mouth as it pulled out a sword with a jagged edge. Seeing the intimidating creature Jason began to seriously doubt his chances in surviving this encounter. The goblin began to advance warily swinging the sword as it approached.

"I would recommend that you use the skills that have been given to you." The AI said in an urgent tone. "All you will have to do to activate the skill is to name the skill and then say activate".

Jason slapped his forehead at the words of the AI. The fear of the advancing goblin had completely dulled his mind making him just think of his impending doom. Jason quickly went through a mental checklist of the skills that he had acquired.

Skill Transformation (Transform into fighting mode)

Claws level 2

Bite level 1

It definitely seemed like he would be able to fight back at least. He hoped the transformation process would not be painful. It sounded like he would have to fight like an animal. However Jason was willing to fight like anything if it meant that he would survive.

"Transformation Activate"

The second Jason uttered these words he felt a tingling sensation throughout his entire body. His body became a bit taller and broader with muscle appearing to grow. He felt his mouth elongate into a snout and running his tongue over his teeth he could tell that they had also grown and gotten much sharper. Fur appeared on his arms and chest yet not enough to make him seem to be abnormal. His fingers grew longer with sharpened nails shaped like claws. He suddenly felt more powerful then he had ever felt before. Upon seeing Jason's transformation the goblin uttered a loud war cry raising the sword up and running forward. As Jason concentrated on the charging goblin it seemed almost like time seemed to slow down. It was slight but it allowed Jason to dodge the goblins attack. Whirling around the goblin thrust his sword straight at Jason's stomach. Since Jason had lost his concentration the minute he had avoided the goblins charge the best he could do was try to dodge again. This time unfortunately the goblin was closer and quicker and managed to slice a deep cut in Jason's side. It felt like to Jason that someone was pressing a heated metal rod to his side. Jason quickly backpedaled away from the monster who seemed to be laughing. The pain however that had been so sharp was quickly fading and glancing down Jason could see that the wound was now a cut that was slowly fading. Jason looked up quickly at approaching footsteps to see the goblin once again closing the gap. Jason realized that he would have to end this quickly or he might get so cut up that he wouldn't be able to get away. Also he wasn't so sure that he would be able to regenerate his head if it was severed! Still being distracted by his thoughts he failed to notice the goblin swing his sword until it was too late to dodge. Raising his arm to block and reaching an arm forward to try and claw the goblin Jason braced for impact from the goblins sword and was rewarded for his efforts with a deep gash on his arm. Jason growled and attacked the goblin swing his arms wildly trying to injure the goblin. The goblin tried to dodge the clawed hands but failed to see the kick from Jason sending it reeling. Jason ran forward as fast as he could and slashed the goblins chest cutting deep and sending black blood gushing out. The goblin howled and fell to his knees clutching his chest but not dropping its sword. Jason clawed again at the goblin opening a much deeper cut further down the goblins torso. The goblin gritted its teeth and struggled to rise eyes brimming with hate. Remembering what the AI had said about goblins not letting their enemies ever rise again he grabbed the goblins head and heaved mighty. The goblins head flew off and the goblins body turned to smoke which quickly disappeared into night. Jason collapsed to his knees as he felt his body returning to its human form.
