18 The Male Lead or The Second Lead

Jamie said that Humans cannot control their own heart, and Mira believes it's true. Humans cannot control their feelings, however, they can control their life and their actions. Humans have the ability to do things regardless of their feelings.

So even though Mira felt a deep longing towards the person in front of her, she tried to squash that feeling. She wouldn't make the same mistake again.

Eugine paused for a second, before nodding. "Oh. I thought you were familiar. Im sorry."

"Its nothing." Mira said. Eugine nodded before he went back to writing on his notebook again.

Mira turned around to face in front, her fist clenched hard, her nails digging to her palm. It was stupid, she knows. But her heart flinches in pain and longing whenever she sees Eugine. She smiled despite the pain and faces Jamie again.

"Oh right. I did not hear what you said. Who is it again?"

Jamie was about to answer but the teacher arrived. "Later. I'll tell you later."

Mira tried not get distracted while the teacher is discussing. If there was one thing she was proud of when she was still in school, its that she's a model student when it comes to studying. Despite her reputation in the school in her past life, she's probably one of the students with the cleanest and best record.

Surprisingly, Mira found it easier to study after she returned. The lessons were easier to understand than before and even her scores and essays were also better. She wondered if its because these lessons were already discussed in her past life. She smiled while taking notes, her rank might go higher if she keeps this up. Would that be considered cheating?

She flipped through her notes and accidentally dropped her pen. It rolled under the chair of the person sitting in front of her until it stopped. Before she can ask, the guy in front of her had already picked it up, before turning around to hand it back to her.

"Here." He said. Mira took the pen before looking at the face of the person sitting in front of her.

In her past life full of people who treated her like she was a dirt, there was only one person who didn't. There was a guy who looked at her without prejudice and interacted with her without judgement and pity. Mira saw Eugine as a prince, but she saw that guy as a knight.

She stared at the guy who treated her with respect in her past life. Luigi Ramos only smiled at her before turning back in front. Mira felt someone kick her chair. She unwillingly tore her eyes from Luigi to look at Jamie.

Jamie looked at the teacher in front before discreetly handing her notebook to Mira. Mira looked at the notebook.

'That's him.'

She frowned in confusion before writing. 'What?'

She gave the notebook back to Jamie. She saw Jamie rolled her eyes before writing back.

'The Knight in shining shimmering armour.'

Mira was surprised. Luigi is the one who carried her to the infirmary? Her face burned in embarrassment when she imagined the spectacle she must have made. She took her pen to write an answer.

"Lets see. Jamie?" The teacher called out.

Before Mira can write her answer, the notebook was quickly snatched away from her grasp. She blinked blankly before looking at Jamie to see her calmly closing her notebook, answering the teacher as if everything is fine. Their teacher stopped two seats away from Jamie.

"Yes Sir?"

"What is Literature for you?"

Jamie's clear and well articulated voice filled the classroom while she is answering the teacher's question. She gave a well-detailed answer which is impressive considering that she wasn't listening to the discussion and she have no time to prepare her answer.

"That's a very good answer." The teacher told her before going back in front. Jamie smiled, satisfied while Mira sighed in relief. They did not exchange notes for the rest of the class again.

At ISOA, every class have a Free Period. A full one hour where students are not monitored, allowing them to do everything they want to do in that period. This time is actually given so that the students can self-study and develop self discipline. To other class, it was a time to play. To Class A, it was a time to review and finish their schoolworks they need to complete. They can also play, and no one would scold them for that, provided that their grades dont drop.

Right now, it is the Free period for them.

"We almost got caught a while ago." Mira said.

"Nevermind that, do you know him? That guy who is sitting in front of you."

Mira looked thoughtful while looking at Luigi who is currently sitting with Justin and talking about something. "Who doesn't know Luigi Ramos."

"Ohh. What do you mean?" Jamie asked.

"He is the star athlete of the school. He is very good in all sports but officially, he is a swimmer. There's even a rumor that the National Team already recruited him."

"Ooohhh. To be in the arms of the star athlete. You're so lucky Mira. How does it feel?" Jamie teased.

Mira's ears turned red in embarrassment. "What are you talking about?! Im not even conscious when that happened."

"Ah. So you wished you were conscious back then? Mira... I didn't know that you were like that.. " Jamie continued to tease her while grinning. "Does he have an abs? He must have, right? He's an athlete after all."

"Jamie! Arrggh. I dont want to talk to you." She turned away, her face burning red.

Jamie laughed. "Okay. Okay. I'll stop. But I told you to thank him properly right."

"I know, I was about to do that anyway."

"Invite him to barbeque or something like that. Go."

Mira looked at Jamie blankly. "Right now?"

Jamie nodded.

"You're not going with me?"

"Hell no. You're alone in this one." Jamie grinned before calling Kang Jun. Mira watched as Jamie leave her alone.

She sighed and while biting her lips in nervousness, she went to talk to Luigi.

"Luigi?" Mira called.

Luigi and Justin stopped talking. Justin looked at her curiously before saying to Luigi, "I'll go. Sophie is calling me."

Five seats away, Jamie and Kang Jun are watching them.

"So, why did you call me?" Kang Jun asked.

"Nothing. Im thirsty. Can you get me a drink?" Jamie said.

Kang Jun looked at her as if he couldn't believe what he heard, before laughing. "Ahhh. Seriously, this girl. What am I, your servant? Why are you asking me for a drink?"

"But Im really thirsty." Jamie looked at him, blinking.

Kang Jun sighed. "Stay here. I'll buy one for you."

Jamie smiled triumphantly. "Thank you"

Kang Jun only rolled his eyes before going. Jamie watched him for a second before looking back on where she was looking before. Eyes unreadable, she blinked thoughtfully. "I wonder which one is he?" She said.

"Is he the male lead or the second lead?"
