6 I am, too.

Mira brought Jamie to the best mall in the town that she knows. They went to a skincare store.

"Which one do you think is better?" Jamie asked while showing her two kinds of moisturizer.

"Is this the reason why you wanted to come here?" Mira inspected the products. She shook her head.

"For moisturizer, I think the natural ones are better."

In her past life, Mira became interested in cosmetics and make ups. For make up artsists and make up aficionados, skin care is a vital part in staying beautiful. The face is like a canvass, the cleaner and smoother it is, the better. For Mira, it was the same. Thats why she tried all kinds of products for skin, trying to find the most effective. In the end, she realized that natural and home made products are better. Even if making them are too hassle and time consuming.

"Natural? How? And by the way, I think you need these."

Jamie passed a lip balm to her, along with some other kinds of make ups. She checked the products and took what she liked.

On the counter, Jamie stopped her when she was about to take out her wallet.

"Nu-uh. Its on me. Only for today though."

Mira cant do anything but thanked Jamie. She sighed when she thought of her limited money. She would have to think for ways to earn money, especially now that she's graduating.

In the end, they bought some lipbalms and some liptints, along with some blush-on and some perfume. They chose to ate dinner on a burger shop.

"So Jamie, where did you came from?" She asked curiously.

"Me? Im from the Philippines. But I've been living here since I was in elementary. I was adopted by my parents when I was young."

"Adopted?"

Mira said, surprised on how Jamie can say it to a stranger casually. Sure, they're classmates but they've only known each other since this morning.

Jamie saw her expression and laughed.

"Why are you looking at me like that? For me, being adopted is not a big deal. After all, my family have always treated me as if Im their blood daughter. Blood ties is not everything, you know."

"Actually..."

Jamie stopped laughing and looked at her.

"Actually... I am too."

"You are too? What 'too?"

Mira took a deep breath. "I mean, Im adopted too."

For a moment, there was an awkward silence.

Then Jamie coughed. "Well, I wasn't expecting you to say that."

She smiled sheepishly. For some reason, she was so comfortable in talking with Jamie.

One of the reason why her relationship with her mother became so bad in her past life is because she accidentally found out that she she was only adopted. That truth became a thorn in her heart, estranging her from her mother. For that, Mira could never forgive herself from being so shallow.

"How did you know by the way?" Jamie asked her.

"By accident only. I dont think they know that I know."

Jamie took a sip from her softdrinks before saying to her, "I think you need to talk with them. And just like what I said, remember that blood ties is not everything. Sometimes, you will find love and acceptance from people that have no blood ties to you. It is the case for the both of us. We're pretty lucky, dont you think?"

Mira nodded. That's right. Blood ties is not the only thing that can make you families. "Before we go home, let's stop by the local market to buy some things."

Jamie nodded. "Sure."

After they ate, they went to the supermarket to buy some fruits.

"Hey Mira, what are you going to to do with all of this?"

They were buying lemons this time. "Dont underestimate the power of lemons."

"What powers? Does it fly?"

Mira rolled her eyes. In the short time she have been with Jamie, she came to realized that this girl dont really take things seriously.

After they paid for the fruits, they waited outside for a taxi.

"Thanks. I had fun today."

"Its nothing. I had fun too."

A bunch of boys who seemed to be in highschool walked by them. They were so noisy that they are attracting a lot of attention from the people and some of them seemed to be even drunk.

They frowned in displeasure but kept silent. However, when they are about to pass by the two of them, one of the drunken boy stumbled towards Mira. As a result, Mira got pushed out of the sidewalk into the incoming traffic.

Mira heard Jamie call her name.
