Going Home

Only a few minutes later, when they were sure that the ones chasing them are gone that they went out of their hiding place.

Mira's face was red, her heart in turmoil once again.

For some reason, Eugine was quite reluctant to let the girl go, a reaction that is very confusing for him since he didn't know the reason why. Seeing the worried look on her face, he tried to console her.

"Don't worry about them, they'll be fine." He said, while trying to look indifferent.

Mira only nodded her head but didn't say anything. She averted her eyes, wanting to run away from Eugine and the feelings he's causing her.

Eugine also didn't know what to do. In the end, he decided to start walking to go home.

Mira watched as he walked away, not knowing what to do.

He stopped walking, before looking back at Mira. "Are you coming?"

Mira bit her lips, her emotions in conflict. She didn't want to be alone with Eugine but on the other hand, they were in an unfamiliar place. She didn't know this neighborhood well and the bus station was still far away. Its already dark and its not safe for a girl like her to walk alone at night in an unfamiliar place.

She finally decided to go with him. "Only till the bus station. Let me go with you up to the bus station." She told him. "I'll be fine after that."

Eugine didn't answer, instead he pulled out his phone and called someone in it.

"Can you go to the bus station? Yes. That one. Ok. I'll be waiting." He said to the phone.

They walked to the bus station in silence.

Meanwhile..

Jamie glared at Kang Jun. They were currently in a abandoned shop where they decided to hide.

"Kang Jun you bastard, of all the places you will pull me into, why do you have to do it in a place like this?" She snarled while looking around the dilapidated place.

"As if we have a choice." Kang Jun flinched when he spoke. His lower lip was cut and speaking hurts.

Jamie looked at him. Kang Jun's pretty face is bruised and his hair is messy. His uniform was soaked in sweat too.

Kang Jun was doing the same to her. There's nothing wrong with Jamie. Not even a scratch. However, she was also soaked in sweat because of running. And her skirt was torn.

"You looked bad." She first commented.

"Hah! Back to you." Kang Jun laughed before he flinch again.

"....."

"...."

"Pffffttt. "

It was Kang Jun who laughed first. Jamie bit her lips to control herself, but soon, she was also laughing. They were laughing so hard that it's weird no one checked on them yet.

"I cant believe it. Look at yourself. I can't believe that you would get beaten up like that." Jamie said when she calmed down.

"I also can't believe that you can run that fast. So there were times that the great you can also be chased like that. Also, I felt bad about that guy that you kicked."

"This is ridiculous." They both said at the same time. Soon, they were laughing again on the joke that only the two of them can understand.

At the bus station, Mira and Eugine was waiting for the bus in an awkward silence. None of them knows what to do with the deafening silence between them. Mira was looking down while Eugine was looking ahead.

A black car suddenly stopped in front of them. An old man got off the car and opened the door. "Lets go home Mr. Han."

Mira was surprised to see the familiar old man. It was the driver of the car that almost hit her back then.

Eugine looked at Mira. "Get in. We'll take you home."

Mira was startled by the offer. She immediately shook her head and rejected the offer. "No need. I will just wait for the bus."

The driver was also surprised. He has been with the Han family for more than 20 years already, and he watched as Han Yu Jin grow up. He's more than aware how aloof the youngest son of the Han was, but now Eugine was taking the initiative to talk and be kind to someone. He cant help but look curiously at the face of the girl when he got another surprise.

He might be old already, but he still has a good memory enough to remember the face of the girl they almost hit with their car a month ago.

"Ah, Miss is that you?"

"You know her?" Eugine asked.

"She's the girl from a month ago. Do you remember when we went to enroll you to ISOA?"

Eugine once again looked at Mira. "So that is you. I didn't know. The more reason for us to take you home then. You didn't ask for anything from us back then, just consider this as a compensation for what happened."

She was about to make more excuses when she saw his expectant gaze, along with the kind smile of the driver.

Mira felt that it would be too rude to reject their kindness again so she unwillingly got in the car while being uncomfortable.

They spent the first few minutes in silence. Mira have to admit that getting a ride with Eugine was more convenient although uncomfortable.

"Thank you." She whispered so low that she didn't know if he heard it. Embarrassed, she didn't bother to say it again.

A minute later. She heard a quiet reply.

"It's nothing. Dont think about it."
