Another Encounter

"Those bastards! How can they hit my face. Ugh." Kang Jun complained while wincing.

They were currently having a lunch break outside.

Kang Jun groaned in complaint. Both him and Eugine received a cut on their lips while Luigi and Justin seemed to be fine except for a few bruises here and there.

"How come that you are fine anyway? You're basically unscathed." Kang Jun asked them.

Luigi grinned while twirling his ballpen.

"Its a matter of experience."

"You have the wrong experiences." Sophie rolled her eyes.

Mira had to agree. Last night was too much for her heart. However, she was surprised that she was able to sleep well despite what happened. She was even expecting to have nightmares because of it. She wondered what made the difference? All she did was drink milk before she slept though. Unconsciously, her eyes searched for Eugine.

He was currently sitting in a corner while reading a book. Afraid that she would be caught staring, she immediately averted her eyes. She chided herself.

"By the way guys, did you join any club in the school?" Jamie suddenly asked.

Mira almost forgot about her storm-like friend. Jamie was apparently sewing her skirt quietly in a corner since it was torn last night. She was sewing her skirt while she is wearing it, using Kang Jun as a cover so that people cannot see what she is doing.

Kang Jun turned his head to look. "Are you done?"

"Don't look. Do you want me to poke your eyes with needles?"

"Why didn't you do that at your house last night then?"

"Shut up. It was your fault why my skirt got torn anyway."

Mira listened to their banter, amused. "I was already a library representative since first year. Are you planning to join a club?"

"Yeah. I heard that club activities also give points for the rankings."

"Where do you plan to join? By the way, Kang Jun and I belong to the Drama Club while Justin is in Baseball Club. Luigi is in the swimming club." Sophie explained.

"Baseball club? Justin is?" Jamie asked blankly.

Justin who is still currently chewing a bubble gum gave her a look as if saying 'what?'

"Fudge. I thought you're into martial arts club or something. You're like a pro at fighting!"

"Just like Luigi said, its about experience." Justin smugly said while trying to stick the bubble gum under the fence, however Sophie slapped his hand before giving him a paper.

Sophie glared at her boyfriend unhappily. They actually had a fight last night before going home. She wanted him to stop fighting and getting into trouble.

Upon seeing the frown in Sophie's face, Justin sighed. Its not like he can actually promise that he will not get into fights again. He wasn't the one who started those fights anyway. And aside from that, most of the fights are done with someone. If he stop going, that person will fight alone...

"Anyway, I haven't decided yet what to do. I'll check the clubs first to see if anything will catch my eyes. What about you Eugine? Do you plan to join any club?" Jamie gave him a sideway glance.

Eugine tore his eyes away from his book to answer. "I haven't decided yet either."

Mira looked away. In the past life, Eugine joined the Art Club of their school. Once, she tried getting close to him by transferring clubs however, that plan failed when she found out that she could barely draw a person that would qualify as a human being in terms of looks.

This time though, she has no plan to chase Eugine. For the safety of her heart, she decided to avoid him as much as possible.

The bell suddenly rang, signifying the end of lunch break.

They all hurried to get back to the class. It would be bad if they were caught doing overbreak, they were star students after all.

After they went back to their room, their teacher let them sit with their partners to talk about their project. They all spent the rest of the afternoon studying.

Once class ended, Jamie talked to Mira. "I have something to do, I wont be able to go home with you."

Mira was curious but nodded anyway.

"Mira can go with us." Sophie said after hearing their conversation.

"Im fine. I don't mind going home alone." Mira said, embarrassed.

"That wont do. You were with us last night. What if those guys are there again?" Luigi insisted.

That make sense, she thought. In the end, Mira gratefully agreed.

Luigi smiled, glad.

Mira was blinded by that smile. Luigi really looked like a charming knight when he smiles.

Jamie, seeing that all is well sighed in relief.

"Well, Im going first. Bye."

When she was out of the school, she sighed once again. The truth is, she actually have nothing to do. She didn't know why, but her heart has been restless these past few days. The feeling of being not in control of her feeling deeply bothered her that is why she lied of having to do something in order for her to go home alone and have a time to think.

She wasn't the type to get restless for no reason but she trusts her instinct. There must be something that she haven't realized yet.

She wandered around, not really having a certain destination in mind. Her feet suddenly stopped, and realized that her feet brought her to the rescue station.

Jamie blinked.

What am I doing here?

Since she was already there, she decided to check the place. She's always been curious about places like this. She looked around the place, eyes wide with curiosity.

"Hi. Is there anything you need?" A voice suddenly asked behind her.

Jamie turned around in surprise and almost tripped.

Strong arms supported her waist before she fell, her arms instinctively grabbing that person's shoulder for support.

She raised her head to take a look at the person.

The lighest natural brown eyes she'd ever seen greeted her. Even lighter than Eugine's, bordelining between gold and light brown.

They were familiar.

Inside her, something cold started to warm up, not enough to melt the ice but enough to give the premonition of a coming spring..

"Are you okay?"
