12 A Taste of Her Own Medicine

In that instance, everyone knew.

The action was so quick that it seems to be done unconsciously in panic. To everyone, Mira looks like she really didn't want to say anything. But that quick glance in panic is enough to make everyone realize what's going on.

Everyone looked at Jenny.

Class 3-A is not called the star section for nothing. All of the students belonging in this class are not stupid. Most of them are exceptionally smart and cunning and a little clue is all they need to understand the situation.

Everybody was thinking the same. If Mira didn't really write those letters for herself, then who is it that can make her write them? Why would she not divulge the person's name? Unless of course it's someone important enough to her that she couldn't just sell out that person.

They know that the relationship between Mira and Jenny is getting sour. But still, they've been friends for too long that they can understand why Mira would still protect Jenny.

Jenny was startled. What's happening? Just a while ago she was still waiting for Mira to embarrass herself yet the next thing she knew is that everyone is looking at her, judging.

"I-It wasn't me!" She hurriedly defended herself.

Sophie turned to Jenny, fuming. "You!"

"Mira! Tell them. You're the one who wrote them right? I had nothing to do with it!"

Mira pretended to flinch while she sneered inside, but did as she was told to. She may not be an actress but her acting skills would be enough. She bit her lips and pretended to look around in nervousness and panic.

"I didn't say anything! It - it wasn't her." Mira looked down, as if about to cry.

"See? She said so herself. It wasn't me. So don't you dare to accuse me!" Jenny cried.

Jenny really looked pitiful while crying. She was expecting someone to side with her but to her surprise, everyone seems to be looking at her with more dislike.

The more she tries to deny it, the guiltier she is in the eyes of her classmates. Mira didn't say anything in the first place, so why would she hurriedly defend herself like that? Guilty conscience?

Their classmates who didn't like Jenny for the first place are the first ones to diss her.

"Look at her acting. Is she expecting to fool us with her crying?"

"I never knew that Jenny could be like that. Mira didn't say anything but it looks like she was being left in the air."

"Sophie says that she was called a b*tch. Mira is so kind, how can she do that? Jenny on the other hand... "

"That's right. It's obvious that Jenny hates Sophie, so she can definitely do that."

Insults were hurled at Jenny from all directions. Many girls dont like Jenny from the start since Jenny has a habit of putting others down. They normally would not say anything but this incident made them bold enough to go against her since its pretty much obvious to everyone that Jenny's at fault here. Highschool life is simply dramatic and complicated like that.

Jenny realized what happened and paled. Even the boys who would usually defend her are staying quiet. "I-It wasn't really me."

Mira didn't say anything and just kept on looking down. It would be best for Jenny to taste her own medicine.

On the other hand, Sophie is also furious. She has always been on a bad term with Jenny so she can really see that Jenny could do something like this. Sophie looked at her and remembered the letters' contents.

"So you will be better match for Jimin huh? Why? What makes you better than me? Tell us! I'd like to hear them."

Jenny glared at her. "I said it wasn't me!"

At this moment, their teacher for the next subject arrived. He stared at them questioningly. "What's happening here? Go back to your seats."

Everybody stopped staring at them and sat properly. Jenny stared at Sophie with hatred then looked at Mira before sitting down. Mira didn't miss all of this.

She clenched her fist. She hated doing this. She hated acting and being pretentious but Mira steeled herself. She remembered what happened to her in the past because she was too forgiving. She will not make the same mistakes again.

After the class, Jenny immediately pulled Mira out of the classroom.

"Tell them! Tell them it wasn't me." Jenny told her.

She tried to pull her arm out of Jenny's hand. "I already told them it wasn't you."

"It wasn't enough! This is your fault anyway!"

She stared unbelieving at Jenny. Her fault?

Jenny continued. "Tell them that I didn't send those letters. Say that you're the one who sent them. Tell them it was really you. Only then that they will believe that its not me."

Mira stilled. "Me? But Im not the one who sent them. I only wrote them for you. Why should I take the blame?"

"Just do it! If it gets out my reputation will be ruined. You have to do it! What kind of friend are you if you're just going to let it happen?!"

For a moment, Mira cant speak. "You're being a bitch right now don't you think?"

Bitch? Jenny cant believe it. She, who was already furious cant stop herself. She slapped Mira.

Mira was stunned. She touched her cheek that is still stinging and looked at Jenny.

Jenny cant believe it too and stared at her hand but she didnt apologized. In her eyes, Mira was someone who is below her and have no right to say those things to her.

"You're really a bitch. Why should I take the blame for you? It was you who did it. You're worried about your reputation. Then what about mine? Its okay if mine gets ruined? You're asking me what kind if friend I am. But what about you? What kind of friend are you? The kind of friend who uses her 'friends' as a stepping stone and shield?"

She pulled her hand out of Jenny's grip. It was already bruising. She coldy looked at Jenny. "You slapped me. Even my mother never did that. Because I am your 'friend' I will let it go this time. But the next time you try to do this, I will make it sure to return it to you twice and more."

Mira walked away and didn't wait for her to answer.

"Mira! Stop there!" Jenny called to her.

Kindness? Mira shouldn't give them to the people who don't deserve it. From now on, she will live in the principle of 'Returning what you receive'.
