A Servant or Friend

A week immediately passed.

Mira is currently doing homeworks in the library. In her past life, she was so pressured by the expectations of the people around her because she was one of the top students. She became so focused in her studies that she didn't managed to make friends. Now that she returned back in time, Mira found it easier to find balance between her studies and social life.

"Mira, can you write it again for me?"

She looked at Jenny questioningly. Since Mira knows that she can't break away from Jenny just like that, she settled on tolerating Jenny's attitude for now. After they almost fought on the first day of school, Jenny came to talk to her on the third day.

"Write what?"

"You know, the love letter." Jenny whispered to her, looking very embarrassed.

Love letter?

In an instant, Mira remembered what it was all about. She stared at Jenny, her expression unreadable.

"Okay. Who was it for again? Did you even give him the previous letters?" She asked.

"I did. But, I didnt know what his answer is." Jenny.

"Is that so?"

Mira's expression didnt change but Jenny didnt noticed that her fist was clenched. Looking at Jenny's face, Mira could understand why she never suspected her in the past. Jenny's acting was so flawlessly perfect that even the current her would have been fooled had she never known the truth.

But whatever Mira felt, she never let it show in her face. "Give me the paper. What am I going to write?"

Mira wrote what Jenny wanted, almost wanting to gag on how disgustingly sweet some of the message was. They spent their free period just like that.

At the classroom.

"Hey, where have you been?" Jamie asked her.

"I was doing homework in the library with Jenny. What about you? Are you done with yours?"

Jamie grinned at her while waving her notebook to her. "Easy."

After that, the teacher came so they hurriedly sat down in their seats. While the teacher was discussing, Mira tried to listen attentively and in doing so, she found that the lessons seemed to be easier to understand for her. Is it because it was already discussed in her past life?

"Okay. I will give you one minute to find a partner. Please choose carefully because the person you will choose will be your partner for this whole semester. You will share the same grade so choose wisely."

Mira stared blankly for a second. So this still happened in this life huh. In her past life, Jenny was her partner. But since she wont let the same thing happen again, she will have to choose a new partner again. Unconsciously, she looked at Jamie. Incidentally, Jamie was also looking at her.

For a second, they stared at each other. Then they both grinned.

"Partner!"

Both of them laughed.

Although Jamie is a transferee, Mira was pretty sure that Jamie's intelligence was something that shouldn't be underestimated.

"Mira! Let's partner up."

Jenny immediately said after stopping infront of her, rudely blocking Jamie from her view.

Jamie stared at Jenny's back. Her inner bitch wanting to be unleashed. What would this girl do if she pulled her hair, hard? Well, excuse her then for being rude too.

Jamie tapped on Jenny's shoulder. "Excuse me. We already agreed to be partner."

For a moment, Jenny was speechless. Then she looked at Mira, unbelieving.

"Sorry. She asked so I think it would be rude to decline." Mira put a sorry expression as best as she can.

"What? What about me then?" Jenny asked.

Mira sighed. In the end, Jenny thinks that everything must revolve around her.

"You'll be fine. You're also one of the top ten. You can do it."

"Exactly, Im also one of the top 10. While you dont even know the ability of this girl. How could you choose her?" Jenny.

"Since you're sooo confident about your skills, why are you still sticking to Mira? Besides, what does it have to do with you if she chose a lousy partner? You're just a friend. Not her parent."

Jenny ignored Jamie. "Mira! Are you really going to be like this?!"

Mira flinched in habit because of Jenny's loud voice. The room instantly became quiet.

Jenny just realized that her voice had been too loud just then. She didn't mean to lash out like that but Mira has recently been consuming her patience. This girl used to be on her beck and call but lately she seems to be getting bolder.

"Hey Jenny. Why are you shouting like that?" Kang Jun asked her.

Jamie finally lost it then. "Hey! How dare you yell at Mira like that? Just because she won't partner with you, you will shout at her like that? What do you take her for? Your servant that has to follow your every command?"

Everybody stared at Jenny.
