A Family's Love

Inside the car, Mira and Eugine spent the ride in silence.

Looking at the two awkward teenager through the mirror, the driver smiled. He's happy to know that Eugine seem's to be doing fine at school.

When the car stopped in front of Mira's house, she immediately opened the door before the driver can even go out of the car to open it for her.

She bowed to thank them. "Thank you so much for giving me a ride."

Eugine nodded before telling the driver to go.

"Drink some tea or milk before going to bed."

Mira raised her head in surprise. What? That was random. Before she can ask, the car already started, leaving her alone standing in front of her house.

She rubbed the back of her neck, confused. Too much interaction with Eugine is bad for her heart.

When she went inside their house, she found her parents sitting in the living room.

Her mother greeted her. "Oh. Welcome home. Did you have fun with your friends?"

Mira nodded. "We went to eat. Sorry for coming home late."

"That's fine. You informed us beforehand so its okay." Her father told her.

Mira nodded. "Im tired, so Im going to bed early."

When she passed the kitchen, she unconsciously stopped. She bit her lip before going in.

Mira's mother curiously looked at her daughter before turning to her husband.

"Its good that she now go out to have fun with her friends. She's too quiet before."

Mira's father nodded. When other parents would wish their children to avoid going out too much, Mira's parents wish that Mira would go out more. Their daughter is too reserved that they are worried for her. They know how good daughter she is, that's why they hope that she would lead a happy life. Now that she took the initiative to inform them that she will be hanging out with her friends, they are ecstatic.

Upstairs, Mira gently closed the door to her room while staring at the glass of milk in her hand.

She closed her eyes and sighed.

How stupid.

Meanwhile, Eugine just arrived at their home.

His mother greeted him before stopping in surprise.

"What happened to your face?" His mother asked in worry. "Did you get into fight?"

"No. A classmate did." He answered. Well, technically its true. It was Justin's fight, and they only got caught with it.

This time, his mother seemed surprised. Does it mean that he got caught up in a fight because he helped his classmate? Is he finally getting out of his shell to make friends? She sighed in happiness. She cannot wait for him to introduce his friends to her. Maybe he'll even bring a girlfriend home?

"Im going up." Eugine said upon seeing his mother in imagination land.

"Okay, dont forget to disinfect your wound so that it would not scar."

Eugine immediately took a bath after entering his room. He stared at his reflection in the mirror before frowning. His lip is cut, there's a scratch on his palm and his stomach hurts.

He didn't know that it hurts so much to get punched in your stomach...

Remembering how he was beaten up, he quickly dressed in annoyance before going down.

"Mom. Is Hyeong at home?" He asked their mother who is sipping tea.

"He is. I think he is in the study."

Eugine immediately went to the study room. He knocked before waiting.

"Come in."

When he went in, he saw his older brother reviewing some documents in front of a computer.

"What is it?" His brother asked without looking up.

"Do you know any self defense instructor?"

This time, Han Jumin paused before looking at him. That's when he noticed that Eugine's face is bruised. He raised his eyebrow in surprise.

"What's this. Did you get beaten up?" He asked.

Eugine only blinked without answering his question. "Do you know anyone?"

Jumin chuckled. It turns out that his little brother is finally coming out of his shell.

"I know someone, but I'll have to call him first to ask. I will tell you once I confirm it."

"Thanks Hyeong. I'll go then. Dont stay up too late." Han Yu Jin nodded before going out of the study.

Amused, Jumin followed Eugine with his eyes before dialing on his cellphone.

"Its me. Would you mind coming over to teach my younger brother?"

In his room, Eugine quietly flopped on his bed before flinching. Flexing his stomach muscles hurts. He frowned while looking at the ceiling, for some reason, he kept seeing a face of a certain girl.

He sighed before getting up to turn off the lights. While lying in the bed, his mind is divided into different thoughts.

'Ah.' He thought while slowly succumbing to sleep. 'Next time. I will not get beaten up again."

The worried face of that girl flashed in his mind... He didn't like that she looked so worried..

Why?

That's his thoughts before he finally fell asleep.
