4 Chapter 3

"Alright everyone, we managed to tie with the girls' team, but we can't weaken our grip yet, so let's continue to give our best so that we(I) can go on a date with Yuriko-sama!"

"YEAH!!!"

All the boys were still motivated and full of energy, aside from Takeru, he was both displeased and exhausted from having to defend the boys' side, but he still didn't accept losing by giving up

"Everyone! We can still do it! The guys over are still the same brainlets who only knows to attack head-on! If it wasn't for that one guy defending their back and making two lucky shots from afar we would be already six points ahead of them! So let's keep the pressure on him!!!"

<Sorry, Tanaka-kun. It looks like my team will not be giving you any breathing room>

Then the two teams went back to the field for the second half, and both teams were merciless against each other, with Takeru suffering the brunt of the girls' attack by having to single-handedly defend the boys' side. He managed and failed to defend several times

"Arf... Arf... *Pant pant*... Whew..."

And because of that, he was extremely exhausted, but the boys were by luck one point ahead of the girls

"Yuriko-sama! We only have one more chance of scoring before the game ends, can we leave it to you to make that score for us?"

"Of course, I'll win this game for you, ohime-sama"

The girls' leader face turned bright red, but she quickly recovered, and they went on the attack for their last chance of winning

"YURIKO-SAMA! BANZAI!!!"

And with their weird scream, they put their pressure at the boys' team, allowing Yuriko to easily pass by them as she headed straight for the basket, but obviously, Takeru was already blocking her path forward

"Yuriko-sama! Go for the left!

then one of the girls blocked him from going to the left, and Yuriko swiftly took that opportunity to go for a slam dunk, them Takeru stepped back and turned, then he rushed directly for Yuriko

"ORAAAAA!!!"

When Yuriko jumped, he followed suit with a few seconds of delay, and as the two of them jumped, their teams were almost screaming of the big chance of one of them losing

Then the ball went inside the basket as Yuriko's hands reached for the rim, while Takeru felt something soft on his face pushing him back

"Whew!"

"YESSSSSS!!!"

"NOOOOO!!!"

The girl's commemorated their victory while the boys despaired their loss. Yuriko who had grabbed onto the basket rim safely landed on her two feet, and then she saw Takeru, who had landed with his butt, sprawled on the ground and completely white with his soul leaving his body from the mouth

That was what Yuriko said to herself, but the girls were quick to surround her...

"Yuriko-sama, you were so cool in that last shot!"

"Please give me your autograph!"

"Yuriko-sama, I love you!"

They all kept calling her as she tried to calm them down

"Easy there, easy there you all, everything in good order, please"

"Yes! Yuriko-sama!"

And they all calmed down after she asked them to, then she listened to what each of them asked her, but in the end, the girls settled with only having her autograph

<Phew... Now, if it's Tanaka-kun he should've left already to escape the basketball club from trying to scout him, so he's probably changing by now... I might be able to meet up with him at the shoe lockers if I leave now...> "Everyone, I will be taking my leave now. It was a fun game, bye-bye everyone"

"Goodbye, Yuriko-sama!"

Both the girls and the boys sent her their farewells

"By the way, who was that guy that you brought with your team?"

"Dunno, we just happened to pass by him and brought him with us on our way here"

"You guys sure are stupid"

"And you guys better have your wallets ready, because we going to have victory feast only for girls today"

"Kuh!"

And that's was the last conversation the two team leaders had before doom reach the boys' pockets that evening

At the shoe lockers

"Haa... I'm definitely going to be completely sore tomorrow... Haa..."

Takeru then looked at his left hand as he opened and closed it after he finished lacing his shoes

"...And my good hand is also killing me right now, but it's not broken at least"

during one of his defenses, he tried to grab the ball with his left hand, but only his middle, ring, and little fingers managed to touch the ball that was going fast for the basket, he stopped the ball at the cost of three of his fingers getting screwed

"I thought I would find you here"

"! Nanami-senpai, going home too?"

"Yup, wanna go together?"

"Sure, and I also need to do my part of the deal"

"That one from the basketball game"

And the two left the school premise walking side by side, with one having a lively and proper look while the other having a tired and improper look and after some minutes of walking they stopped at a red pedestrian light

Takeru had a disbelief face at what Yuriko just said

"You train... In the mornings?"

"Yes, it's the best time to train, and it helps me be prepared for a thing like today's match"

The two continued walking together until they reached a family restaurant near their apartments

Oops! Were is my decency? I'm Yamamoto Daichi, 2nd year of Yama high, vice president of the student council, and cram school student. This might look impressive, but I know someone more impressive

That person is my school's student council president Yuriko Nanami, she's perfect and flawless in every aspect, and...

She's my first love, I fell in love with her at first sight when I sat beside her in my first day of school last year, though I didn't make any progress with her last year even after managing to join the student council, but decided to take a more proactive instance this year
