Ch. 2 P. 5

Since there was time Scarlet decided to answer his unasked questions since there was nothing else to do and she felt that the silence was getting awkward. Scarlet carefully explained what plants she used and why that ingredient was chosen, then explained what it would do to the meat in the pot. 

Even though Travis gave her his full attention when she explained, he didn't truly understand until she took the lid off for the First time to stir the food and Scarlet could see how the look on his face changed tremulously. Smiling when she noticed this change, she decided to have fun by asking if everything was okay in a worried tone. He took a minute to answer with "No, nothing is wrong. That smell is like nothing I have smelled before." After Travis said that he thought to himself that he smelled something like this before but didn't want to say anything for fear of scaring her off.

As he was thinking about the times when he had smelled her cooking and how close he was to finding her before Travis realized something. He realized that he didn't even know her name. He was about to ask when she said the food was ready and was handed the thing, she called a bowl full of food. This was all new to him. Being treated like something other than trash and he had never eaten something like this before. 

When Travis was using a bowl, he felt awkward until he looked over at her and seen how she was eating it. Travis awkwardly used the spoon to scoop the Soup out of the bowl and took his first sip of the Broth which smelled so incredible. His taste buds came alive when he tasted the soup. He ended up eating the whole bowl before he knew what he had done. After he was done, he was just staring at the empty bowl full of regret that he didn't make it last longer. He couldn't help himself from eating so fast, it was just so good, but it was gone now.

As he was mourning his empty bowl it was suddenly taken from him, leaving him staring at his empty hands. Before he could feel upset about being kicked away so soon, the bowl appeared back in his hands and to his surprise it was full again. He looked up at Scarlet and said "It's okay I had my portion. I should just go now and not disturb the rest of your meal."

Looking up at Travis she smiled at him and said "You are still hungry, and I made so much because I knew that you would eat more. If you don't eat it, then the food will go to waste, and I can't eat all of this by myself."

Again, Scarlet was met with a strange look and then the sound of a loud stomach rumble. Laughing she said, "Come on sit and eat your fill." This time he did as he was told and continued to eat. Together they finished the whole pot of food in Peaceful silence. Travis helped Scarlet clean up the dishes and the whole time Scarlet felt like something was off about him yet couldn't put her finger on it. When they were about to go their separate ways, he suddenly blurted out "Can I be your Male?" 

Being taken back by the sudden offer Scarlet didn't expect that at all. Something in her chest felt like it sparked to life when he asked. After standing in a shocked silence for a few minutes she finally said, "I'm sorry, but I can't have a Male."

The look of pain on his face completely shattered that spark leaving Scarlet feeling a great pain in her chest. Travis said in a broken voice "I will be good to you, I will never hurt you, and will always protect you. If you just give me a chance. Please I can prove that I won't let you down." Tears began to build up in his eyes as he spoke, and they fell without him caring to wipe them away.

Looking at him Scarlet pulled her shirt to the side and showed him scar that was just above her heart and said "I'm sorry, but this is from the last person that I let get close to me. I'm sure that you are a Good Male, but I learned the hard way a very long time ago to not trust others."

With that she walked away leaving him there in shock. Travis expected to be rejected but he didn't expect her reason for rejection to be something like that. In his whole life he would never have expected to hear anything like that from such a Sweet and Caring Female.

A Male yes, but that was the world of Male's, but a poor Little Female never. It was then that something occurred to him. She said that her family were Doctors, but she was not. What happened in her past that she didn't get to become One? Could it have been that her family didn't want her, or could it be that something has happened to her family?

When he pulled himself out of his thoughts and looked up, he realized that she was gone, and he didn't even see where she went. All he could think about was how that Little Female was on her own. Even though she could do things that he had never seen before that didn't mean that she wouldn't need help at some point. "I found her in such a sorry state before, I need to find her again and take care of her." Travis thought to himself. He took off the cloth that she gave him and turned into his Animal Form and began tracking. He smelled the food that she made before and started in that direction.
