2 Chapter 1

I was chilling in my room watching tv when my phone started ringing. I reluctantly looked down to see who it was. Suddenly excited, I pressed the answer button.

It was my best friend, Alex. A lot of people mistake us for sisters, even though we look nothing alike. While she has blonde hair and blue, and a perfect body (ya I know the whole freaking package), I had black hair and bluish green eyes. I guess we're both tall, so one point in their direction.

I answered her and immediately cringed away from my phone.

"Alex stop yelling! I can't understand you!" I tried to get over her voice.

"Omg omg omg!!! Lucy! AHHHHHHHH!" She started screaming again.

"Ok just spit it out." I laughed.

She squealed "Guess fucking what!"

"Oh my god. WHAT?" I was getting impatient.

"Meet me at the mall!"

She hung up on me. Seriously? Why did she call me if that's all she had to say?

She can be a real bitch sometimes. But I still love her. Most of the time.

An hour later I get to the mall and text her.

Me: I just got here

Me: Where do u wanna meet?

Alex: Girl, do u not know me at all??? The food court!!

Me: Of course… what was I thinking?

***

I'm sitting at the food court for 15 minutes before she finally gets here.

"Ugh finally." I groan.

"Sorry… not" She laughs.

"I WAS WAITING FOR 15 MINUTES!" I yell. If it was that important she would have been here on time!

"Shut up Luce! People are staring!" She pushes me into a chair.

"What took you so long?!?!" I ask.

"Well my friend… I was with-" She stops dramatically.

"Oh my fucking god, just tell me!" I'm obviously not a very patient person.

"Jayden!" She squeezes her eyes shut, as if she's imagining him.

I don't blame her. Jayden is one of the most popular boys at our school. He is positively dreamy. Perfect face; blue eyes, dirty blonde hair, chiseled jaw… you get the picture.

"Um….. so?" We're best friends with, you know, that group, so it's not that crazy that she was hanging out with him.

"I ran into him this morning, and well get this! He broke up with Aubrey! Isn't that crazy! Remember how we used to bet they would…" She starts ranting.

I start to tune her out. I know it's rude but she gets so obsessed with the school gossip, and I don't really pay much attention to it. "Lucy? Are you listening to me" She looks a bit concerned.

"Huh? Ya of course! Why?" I don't think that was very convincing. Her look of concern turns to slight annoyance, which is immediately replaced with an excited smile.

"Jayden reminded me of the party tonight! And you are coming with me!" She looks really excited about said party.

"Do I even have a choice?" I already know the answer.

"Nope! Come on we have to get ready!" She starts pulling me to the nearest shop in the mall. "We need outfits!"

"I'm coming! I'm coming!" I laugh. When she sets her mind on something, she does not back down.

***

"Stop moving." Alex sighed.

That was, like, the billionth time she reminded me while doing my hair and makeup.

"Sorry!"

"I'm almost done!" She looked quite happy with her work, so I must not look that bad.

Alex was forcing me to go out to Jayden's party tonight, and as much as I love parties, I was not excited for this one.

"And we are, done!"

I turned around and looked in the mirror. I looked surprisingly good. I always underestimate Alex's mad makeup skills.

"Damn, you're good!" I told her.

"Oh honey, I know!" She laughed.

She had done a smokey eye with perfect wings of eyeliner. It was perfect for my outfit. I was going to wear black ripped jean shorts with chains and a white ripped crop top with with a red rose on the front. And of course, my signature black choker.

I went to grab my clothes while Alex finished her hair and makeup.

When we both put on our outfits, Alex put her hands up, and exclaimed, "We are going to be the best lookin girls there!"

As we walked out the door, I turned back once.

I had a feeling this was a bad idea.
