OATH

His last words lacerate my brain and split the sea of thought.

Allow me to systematically destroy your brain with words,

It will be violent, ugly, and feel like eternity.

Take the Oath,

Purge. Repent. rejoice.

Take the oath,

Sheath your sword and bend your knee, Allow the wisdom to overtake you.

Gaze through the eyes of a broken soul, be valiant, fearless.

Take the oath.

As the world around me comes to a screeching halt,

I vanish into my own mind and bleed for those who have passed.

As their memories clash with mine, time itself weeps at the attrition of the battle.

My friends, join me at this table and let us tell tales of greatness.

Tales that will strike fear into the eyes of our enemies.

Take the oath,

Dance, drink, and pray.

Allow nothing to rob you of your faith.

Take the oath.

And now you stand before us.

Tense and tired, your eyes tell the details of your journey.

The oath has changed you, made you whole, made you strong

Allow us to comfort you, pour ale and sing songs in your honor.

And now I ask, would you take it again?

The pain, the fear , the agony.

Would you take it?

Fear is fear and life cannot exist without death.
