36 Pearl of Illusion

Eight Clan District, Fan City

Hanna Lin woke up in the morning and went out to get breakfast as a little girl on a wolf rid passed her heading towards the auction house. She sighed as she waited with her arms crossed for a few more members of the Water Race to show up. Now that an Empyrean Temple had landed in the Fan Sect, her chances of sneak attacking Lin Fan had decreased and had virtually gone out the window.

Instead, she had to rely on how well she did in the Temple to determine her future in the Water Race. Her father was just a small time pearl collector who happened to find the seven legendary pearls when he was in the Green Sea. Because of that, he was able to get Hanna Lin into one of the hardest Water Race Academy's, and from there she excelled beyond all her age.

One of the reasons for her growth was because of the Pearl of Vitality. Not only did it slow down how quickly she aged, but it also distorted time slightly and allowed her to cultivate for longer periods of time.

"I'm tired of waiting! What is taking so long? How hard is it to find a soldier from the Fan Sect..." Hanna Lin shook her head as she opened up the projection of Dragon Zen to see what he was currently doing.

He seemed to be looking at Lin Fan hitting some girl from the perimeter of the sect... She didn't capture him just so he could become a pervert, however, according to her projection his heart rate seemed to be fluctuating immensely.

Was Lin Fan torturing the girl in such a way that he was trying to pick up pointers? She looked closer and finally saw the Empyrean banging his head against the wooden doorway over and over and over again...

'Are you kidding me? Does Lin Fan already have something on the Empyrean? I thought this guy was an idiot... How is an idiot making a demi-god slam his head against the wall!'

"Little girl... You look familiar? Are you one of the people that father saved?" Mimi Fan got off Lightning Woo's body and sat down at the table with Hanna Lin... "I remember seeing you before, but I can't quite place my finger on it..."

"Who's your father, cutie?" Hanna Lin said with contempt as she raised her brow above her head. "Is he someone as great as Lin Fan? That ravishing man from the Fan Sect?"

"That is my father..."

"Mimi Fan... We can't be here..." Lightning Woo grumbled as he pulled her shirt with his teeth... "Brother told me to take you somewhere no one can find you... You're not supposed to sit down with strangers..."

"This little girl is small? What could she possibly due to me... Besides, chicken man gave me a powerful treasure! He said it was from the Empyrean's ring... I wonder what this treasure is though?"

Mimi Fan took out a small disk and smiled before she put it back in her pocket... "Anyways, it was nice meeting you--"

"Wait, don't go! I just remembered I need help finishing my desert! I can even buy something for your Lightning Wolf, and your little dragon?"

"She knows the key to my heart!" Pluck nodded his head and jumped on the table... "However, haven't you guys realized... She's from the water race? What? You guys don't smell the coral?"

"I... I didn't notice..." Lightning Woo started to grow as his hair started to spark... "Mimi Fan... Activate that treasure right now..."

"I'm trying! I'm trying!" Mimi Fan pushed the button on the treasure, finding that the damn thing was only glowing... "What does this treasure do? Chicken Man! Hurry up and come get me or mommy won't let you smack her ass!"

"Girl... You aren't going anywhere..." Hanna Lin smiled as she pulled out a pearl and pushed it onto the table... "You were trapped the moment you said Lin Fan's name... This pearl is called the pearl of illusion, and if anyone looked at us right now, they'd see you laughing and smiling with me..."

"Damn it! Chicken Man can see through illusions! He knew it wasn't my mother's time of the month!" Mimi Fan slammed her hand against the table... "Chicken Man... Come save me!"

Lin Fan's bedroom.

Lin Fan suddenly opened the door as the Empyrean fell into his room. He dropped onto the floor and hit his pretty but long nose against the cold, sparking floor.

An Moe was lying happily on the floor with her butt risen in the air as she laid completely passed out on the ground. However, Lin Fan had a scary expression on his face as Gue Fan ran up to him...

"The tracking device you gave me... It's glowing..." Gue Fan said as she got down on her knees and started to cry... "Something must have happened to Mimi Fan! Please... Lin Fan, save her..."

"Hey... You're fast right?" Lin Fan looked at Ja Ran as he screamed and writhed about his damaged nose... "You mind doing a favor for me? In exchange, I'll let you bow for one less hour..."

"I'm not doing anything for you! I'm not an idiot Lin Fan! Just because I can't hurt you, doesn't mean that I can't go into the temple and tell father to send down more treasures!"

"Let's go... idiot..." Lin Fan reached down and grabbed Ja Ran by the ear as Dragon Zen watched in the distance with a mixture of fear and surprise.

At the same time, Hanna Lin was watching through Dragon Zen's eyes. She knew exactly what she had to do, and smiled before she got up from the table...

"Little girl... Don't think this is over... That chicken man of yours killed my brother..."

"Father doesn't kill unless they deserve it!" Mimi Fan said as she smiled and watched Hanna Lin disappear... "Isn't that right, Lightning Woo? Wait, Lightning Woo?"

Mimi Fan looked all around her for Lightning Woo only to find Pluck knocked out on the ground next to her. What happened to Lightning Woo? She turned around and suddenly saw that Lin Fan had appeared with a very handsome, but pathetic looking man with golden hair...

"Lin Fan... Where did Lightning Woo go? He was here, and now he's not?"
