2 HER LIFE
"Lia your shift started 10mins ago ! where were you ?? This is last time I am warning you !, otherwise feel free to walk out of the door " an angry women shouted , when a young girl entered through the back door of the cafe .
"Sorry aunt I was stuck in the jam I won't be late again " lia lowered her head down while picking up the broom and the cleaning cloth .
Lia , a 15 yr old student who works in 3 different places only to earn money, so that she can support her mother . Her dad threw them and attached himself to a beautiful women who her mother once considered as a friend.
Lia cleaned all the tables and floor in order to earn whatever money she could .
Sun went down , Moon came up.
it was time for her to leave.
She walked down the dark street with blade in her hand.
The street she used to walk back home, was the street filled with traffickers and thieves .
Though she was very much capable to protect herself . Because she learned it from the streets , she knew all the people out there but still she took extra caution by taking the blade with her.
Upon reaching home she heard glass smashing.
"When are you going to pay the rent bitch !!" an angry male voice boomed
"Hey stop!! I got the money !! " lia ran towards the door before anybody could hit her mother and she digged in her pocket and took out few notes and slammed in his hands.
" Huh ! you better be punctual next time or else you both will suffer " the goons left the small place.
lia's home was a really small but clean ,having only one bedroom , they managed to survive all these 3 years.
"Lia you mother could have managed it why you poked in ?" her mother was angry as well as crying .
"Seriously! mother, what could have you done ? sell your body to one of the goons huh?? oh wait you have already done it thrice!"
SLAP
Room boomed with a loud slap, Her mother's eyes were bloody red and tears were flowing freely . "How dare you say that lia!! I wasted all my time seeking jobs so that we can at least have little bit of food but you !!? all you think that I am a slut ?? YOUR MOTHER IS A SLUT!!!?"
lia lowered her head " am sorry mom I was just angry on dad, am sorry that I channeled all my anger on you " lia was also crying
her mother hugged her "stupid girl ! your father may have left you for a whore but your mother promise you that she will never leave your side " she pulled away and wiped her tears
"now go and study" her mother gently pushed her towards the bedroom .
A 5'3 girl, walked towards the door but she felt like she was missing something . She shook her head and walked in .
lia was a beautiful girl with high cheek bones and well defined jawline ,fair skin was a plus to her looks, but her beauty was covered with layers of tension and stress . she didn't even had the time to talk with other people .
except Rita who was her best friend.
Her door bell rang
lia straighten up thinking 'Now whose money is pending?' she heard her mother opening the door and exclaiming " oh Rita ! you came after a long time ..... " she heard some muffled voices
suddenly she heard glass cracking
here goes another glass ... now who will pay the money?? Lia thought.
lia ran out only to find her mother crying and Rita panting "WHAT HAPPENED??" needless to say , she was on her full guard
her mother lifted her face , her face was full of happiness
"you got selected in Kingston high school in full scholarship"
